I was really in the mood for a Greek salad and was originally going to try one of the Greek restaurants on Bell Boulevard....but just kept driving until we pulled into the Neptune diner parking lot. I remember coming to this place in its previous iteration (think it was called Jackson Hole)..and was excited to be trying a new spot (at least it was new to us!) I ordered my chicken souvlaki platter, but asked them to hold the fries (and just add extra salad). Others at the table had the chicken avocado club sandwich and a BLT (no tomato). Everything arrived very quickly....super hot and fresh. The food was excellent! My souvlaki was cooked perfectly and the giant chunk of feta on top of the salad was delightful. I probably should've asked them to hold the pita, but I did indulge in most of it. The tzatziki sauce was also just right. Nice to know that there's another good diner to choose from in the old hood!

First some background, on the legacy of Astoria's Neptune Diner one of the greatest diners in the in the history of diners: Neptune Diner wowed dinners for several decades before some of the owners great tired of running a 24 hour business while the other still had more life in them. Sealing its fate was the fact that it was operating atop of ever growing more valuable real estate. This came to a head a couple of years ago and the decision to sell was sealed. Fast forward, the owners that still wanted to continue the legacy took over Jackson Hole Diner in Bell Blvd. And I've been meaning to try it ever since. Today was that day. My guests ordered the usual diner breakfast fare. There orders were very good. I knew that the proof of whether the spirit of the original survived would be in the burger and aroma in steak, respectively. The section on what to order came down to economics: burger 12 bucks and Romanian steak $44 (yes $44 ($10 short of a NY strip steak) I'll be back for the Romanian). What was the verdict you ask? I enjoyed one of the best burgers I've ever had. The wait staff was also spectacular. King Neptune Diner Astoria is dead, long live King Neptune Diner Bayside.

My late partner, and I ate here a few times, and it has always been good, but I've never written a review. I stopped in for dinner tonight, and it was as good as it has always been. This is nothing more than a good old-fashioned Greek diner. Great people, big menu, and great food. I decided to order from the specials menu tonight. I started with a cup of the the avgolemono, the Greek lemon chicken soup. It was so good! The chicken was tender and delicious,, it had orzo in it, and the orzo was also tender, and the lemon provided a nice " Tang" to the soup. A total home run. For my main course, I had the lemon chicken. Again, a total home run. The chicken was so tender, it was literally fall off the bone. You could taste the lemon, it was spiced well, just a fantastic Dish. The potatoes that it came with were fork tender. Again, totally delicious. I had enough left over to take back to my hotel with me. Prices are a tiny bit on the higher end, but considering the high-quality and quantity of the food? Worth every penny. I will be back. Thank you.

Dined food is comfort food! I wasn't sure what I was craving so I decided to go for a variety of foods and each one of them was delicious. There was a lot of seating and luckily my friend and I got a booth which is what we were looking for. We ordered the Fried calamari which was hugeeeee. We had to stop ourselves from eating too much before the entrees arrived so that we would be able to enjoy our other dishes as well. The calamari was perfectly crispy and the marinara sauce paired great with it. We got spaghetti with Parmesan cheese on top. It is your basic spaghetti which was what I was craving so that was great. Then we also got the banana and Nutella pancakes which were also huge and delicious. The whipped salted butter was the star of the show because everything was on the sweeter side so the butter really added a nice hint of saltiness. The servers were super sweet. They checked up on us multiple times and even offered to give more cheese for the spaghetti. When packing the food the go because we had a lot of leftovers, we asked for a container for the marinara sauce too which they sweetly topped off for us. Not only did the food taste of comfort but the staff made us feel super comfortable as well!

The 31 dollar special of the chicken pot pie was not so special because while yes it came with chicken noodle Matza ball soup and a salad, it was not very special. I would not have ordered the soup if I knew it came with noodles-that was a surprise. No one told the three us about the specials, brought us bread, cole slaw or a pickle for my sister's sandwhich. That is typical for other diners and for 31 bucks the others give a choice of free dessert. They did not even offer that or post dinner coffee. Odd. Going elsewhere .

Greeted immediately after a long walk in extreme heat, then seated in a comfortable booth. The air conditioning was perfect. The coffee was delicious. The food was fresh and plentiful. The service was excellent. No one rushed us. Everyone smiled. The diner seems kind of old, but also seems to be regularly scrubbed and polished. A very comfortable place. We had a very nice time.

Dinner here on Friday evening was delicious, but gets super crowded during the evening. Food was delicious and plentiful. The hot chocolate was delicious. The waiter was very friendly, attentive and prompt. Great dinner in Bayside to experience.

I'll start off by saying that valet parking for a diner is a bit ridiculous but on to the food. The burger was a bit massive and well cooked it could have been seasoned a bit more for $16.50. The diner itself had a great atmosphere.

First time at the Neptune Diner.it was an overall great experience. Firstly, our waitress Ashley was friendly, engaging, and most importantly made us feel at home. I decided to go with the Crown Heights burger deluxe. It was cooked to perfection.as well as all of our food. The decor was typical diner decor but there was a great Victoria the place. Definitely, I will be back.

As always, I'm bias to the OG Neptune in Astoria, but my grandma lives close by & this is our favorite breakfast spot! They have a parking lot that's pretty convenient, but street parking isn't too hard to find if it's full! There's plenty of space inside & the menu is extensive & basically has anything you want! The food is always tasty, service is friendly & quick! Prices are reasonable! Someone once told me that if the coffee is good at a diner, chances are the food is good too! (Point being said - you can't go wrong with Neptune)

Folks, iam not cheap or watch how much I spend when we go out to eat but I refuse to be taken advantage off of what I get charged. The hash browns were also very expensive and the two strawberries on the waffle were $7.the Nutella swirling was also a $7 charge. I visited today with a friend, expecting to enjoy a pleasant breakfast, but unfortunately our…read moreexperience was disappointing for several reasons. I dine here frequently, so I am familiar with the typical portion sizes. The meal I received was noticeably smaller than what is normally served. To the server's credit, she acknowledged the issue and offered to have it corrected without hesitation. The more concerning issue involved my friend, who politely requested plastic utensils. She was told they were only available for takeout orders. Due to a medical condition, she does not use reusable utensils in restaurants. We have never encountered this issue at any other restaurant. As a result, we were unable to comfortably dine in. When I spoke with the manager, I explained that refusing a reasonable accommodation was inappropriate. His response was, "You never told me that," referring to my friend's medical condition. To be clear, customers should not be expected to disclose or justify their private medical information in order to receive a simple accommodation. We ultimately packed up our food and left because no effort was made to resolve the situation. Additionally, I had placed a separate takeout order before all of this occurred, but it was never entered into the system. When the check arrived, I was confused as to why the order was missing. To make matters worse, I was informed that I could not order an item from the children's menu as a takeout meal for my daughter. This policy was surprising, as I have never experienced such a restriction at any other restaurant. Overall, this was a very disappointing visit. While I appreciate that the server was willing to correct my meal, the lack of reasonable accommodation, poor communication, and multiple service issues left us with a negative experience. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and reevaluates both their policies and their approach to customer service.

I told everyone about it, that it was some of the best pizza in New York. I gave them so many chances. Last night was the final straw. Made a reservation for Friday night at 8PM. We arrived at 8:05. The waitress who's basically always there, who sounds like she smokes about a pack a day, was the only waitress there that night. I felt for her, but also, not my problem. We didn't receive water or a full set of utensils and menu until about 8:15. At about 8:25, she took our order, and we ordered a few apps and calzone and pizza. I had to ask for my coke about 4 times until she remembered to bring it. Water was NEVER refilled. We were never asked if we were ok. Around 8:50, we finally received our apps. It was ok, they've made it better in the past. Ambiance was starting to die down as the restaurant was clearing out. We felt a bit bad for her, but also, this wasn't our fault, that they were unprepared for a Friday night rush (her words). By 9:15, we were furious and our moods were ruined. We sat down at 8:05, ordered before 8:30, we were the only ones left and our pizza and calzone were yet to be found. Shortly before 9:30, it arrived. And again, it was pretty good, but not wait over an hour for it good. I wanted this place to succeed. The pizza maker from Italy deserves a better crew. The waitress doesn't know how to be a waitress, at all. No apologies, not taking anything off the check, not checking on us. There's no busboy, no one dedicated to take out, no manager. It seems that everyone plays each others roles, and quite poorly. They've lost a loyal customer tonight. We will NEVER give this place another try.

Alessandro was wonderful and worked so hard to accommodate us all by himself. We decided to keep it simple and order a bunch of pizzas to share as well as a family style salad. Pizza was served one type at a time, it felt like a pizza tasting menu and I loved every second of it. We started off the the Margherita, which was simple and delicious. His dough is perfectly springy and light, but also has great flavor as does the sauce. Prosciutto Pie included mozzarella, arugula, prosciutto and shaved Parmigiano cheese. Another delicious version, you can feel the high quality of the ingredients with this one. Salsiccia Pie used a spicy soppressata, tomato sauce and mozzarella. It's hard to believe but each "course" seemed to be better than the last. Svetonio Pie has meatballs, tomato sauce, ricotta, crispy pancetta, kalamata olives and basil. This was the most complex pie in terms of flavors, but they all worked so well together. The Arugula Salad with cherry tomato red onion, mozzarella cubes was the perfect acidic accompaniment to the pizzas. The restaurant itself is small and rustic, but it felt so homey and made for a perfect spot for our little celebration. Everyone agreed the pizza was excellent all around. I can't wait to return to try more of the menu.
