Small little hole in the wall place for a great sweetness fix. Their waffles are freshly made to order and have good options for different types and toppings. Their lattes are strong and there mint teas have the right mix for a tasty drink. Great place to stop by for a quick sweet snack and drink. You can usually share the waffles so you don't feel so guilty after eating it all. Not a place to sit longer than an hour to do work or study because they have customers all the time and seating for 10-15 people. read more

This is the first time that I am basing a part of my review on the customer service because its THAT terrible. I came here and had to wait in line for an hour to get seated and order a waffle. I already had an order in mind to get the Liege waffle because that's obviously the better option. When I finally got to order, they told me that are out of the Liege waffles and only had the Brussel waffle left. I WAS SO UPSET BECAUSE IF THEY HAD TOLD ME EARLIER, I WOULD NOT HAVE WASTED MY TIME IN LINE AND IN THE HEAT. But because I spent an hour of my life here, I HAVE to order something, so I had no choice but to order the Brussel waffle. Waited ANOTHER 30 minutes for the waffle to come. The lady came and told my bf that the chocolate whip cream for his order was out and needed another 5-10 minutes to make -__- by this time we were both getting very impatient with the wait and constant product shortage. He just told them to give him the regular whip cream. We took a bite of our waffles hoping that it would be worth our wait. We were so wrong. The waffle was terrible. It was thin, airy, crispy, and had no flavor. It was like eating a cracker. You can say we left the restaurant pretty furious. I am even more upset that this place has such high reviews. Maybe the Liege waffles are better but I would never come back here again. You HAVE to let your customers know ahead of time if you're out of an item. It is not fair for the customers to be forced to order something they didn't intend to try. read more

Walked by this place for a plain waffle with confectioners suger. I love how this was made to order because it was soft on the inside and slightly crisp outside. It was a good way to satisfy my hunger in between the ramen meal I had, japa dog and guu izakaya that I had.... I definitely want to go back there to try out the decadent waffles. My review is based on service only as we didn't get to try the waffles. Here's why. 5 of is went here the other night, our first time, and waited 30 minutes just to get to the cashier. All good, don't mind waiting if the waffle is worth it. I wouldn't know. The guy behind the counter said he would take our order in a minute, 5 more minutes passed and he then said it would be 30 minutes before our order would be ready. I love waffles and have had them in Belgium many times, but I am not waiting over an hour for one. If he had told us while we were waiting in the first 30 minutes that they were especially busy, no worries, we would have left and moved on. To make things worse, him and the female employee kept touching their face, hair and even money during food prep. Nasty. Too bad, really wanted to try them but won't be back. read more

Fantastic waffles. You can get them either Brussels style or Liege. The Rocket is one of the best savory waffles I have ever had. Havarti cheese, baby arugua, soft poached egg, and grape tomatoes, make a wonderful light meal. Mini liege waffles are delcious and perfect for on the go. What a cool place! In town for a weekend and a friend stumbled in and recommended it. We gave it a try and were so pleased with our food and experience. The lovely Belgian owners were oh so grateful and accommodating. I can't think of a time I've had waffles like this before. Absolutely light with a crispy edge. Not heavy, but delightfully filling. My friend and I were looking for a crepe place after our long bike along the seawall and this place popped up when I searched for crepes and I was glad it did. It didn't have crepes, but the waffles were soo delicious. I got the strawberry heaven one and I added Nutella to it. Total was about $9, which wasn't bad considering it's a full sized waffle and they're very generous with the strawberries, Nutella and whip creme! My friend and I love it here! Contrary to the reviews of many others, my experience here was anything but great. First off, it took nearly thirty minutes just to get a waffle... and then, we had no table to sit at! The rain started coming down, and we didn't want to wait around and watch our waffles get cold while waiting for a table, so we decided to take them with us to the karaoke bar. The waffles here are amazing!!! Just the right amount of fluffiness, and hot and fresh from the waffle grill. I ordered one with caramel and ice cream and though I was already kind of full from dinner, I couldn't help but finish all of it. Bresilienne Waffle! I got the Brussels version which was light & crispy. It was beautifully presented with one scoop of vanilla ice cream, airy whip cream, hazelnut crumbles, and caramel drizzle. Sounds a bit much, yeah? But somehow it wasn't too sweet. It was the perfect dessert without needing to guzzle down copious amounts of water, and I didn't feel like I was going to be bouncing off the walls later. I do like this place. It has a quaint and rustic European feel to it. The place is very smal so be prepared to sit outside. I had the dark chocolate with whip cream and vanilla ice cream Brussels waffle. I like that it is made fresh and you can smell the waffles as you walk by the restaurant on Robson St. My waffle came up to about $10 but I would say that the portion is big enough to share. I love that the dessert isn't too sweet as typically desserts of these types are. It had the perfect balance of cream and chocolate and the delightful intensity of a cold ice cream on a hot waffle. Came here for brunch. The food was okay but the service was pretty bad. Stood at the counter for several minutes before anyone acknowledged us. We were told they had no eggs but several people who ordered before and after us had eggs. It was strange. No bathroom available here. Why are the staff here so rude? Is it that hard to treat people with respect? The guy who seems to run around making waffles is especially rude. There was no line inside so we figured we could look at the menu inside then head outside. Literally 5 seconds after the guy told us to go outside. He could have let us know that there's a menu outside instead of telling us to go outside is an insulting way. We weren't blocking anyone anyway so what's your problem? We had a really bad experience the last time we went there too so we should've known not to go back. Sadly we were in the area and were with people that wanted to try it out. This place is overpriced and overrated. Was it bad? No, it's just not worth the wait (almost 20 minutes) for a semi hard waffle, a scoop of plain vanilla ice cream, a sprinkling of nuts and a very light drizzle of caramel. I was disappointed considering this average sized dessert cost around $10.00. The service was fine, but the place is tiny, has very very limited seating, and it's annoying dealing with the line crowding the front door. Would say skip this place despite the great reviews.
