Kind of a weird experience. We walked in and while taking our orders, the guy told us we had one minute to order as they were closing and could only eat it in the restaurant if we could eat in 10 minutes. With that info, we decided to take it to go. I think it likely would've tasted better and been more aesthetically pleasing for sure if we had ordered it to be eaten at the restaurant, but I ordered the tiramisu and it tasted nothing like tiramisu. Also tried the strawberry and it was really underwhelming. While we were waiting for the food, people kept coming in because the door was open and we kept having to tell them they were closed. The hours are listed wrong online and they could have just closed the door to prevent more people from coming in

My daughter wanted to try out this place so we headed over there at 11:40. They opened at 11. After we had waited for 2 others to order at the kiosk and at the counter with the worker (probably 10 minutes) the worker told us that they were OUT of ingredients and that we couldn't eat there and we basically had to leave. How do you run out of ingredients 40 minutes after you open?!?!?

They have daily specials now. They are also offering much more food and drinks than a year ago. The wait for these fluffy treats definitely are in the 15-30 minutes range as they are made fresh. Adequate amount of tables and chairs. Silverware and other items are on a counter to grab and use. I got the Monday special (tiramisu pancake and drink) for $17.99 CAD (what a deal for me at less than $13 USD)!

Waited over 1 hour for two fuwa fuwa pancakes!!! $40 CAD! I'm guessing they screwed up with some mix up and gave our pancake to some other guest... They looked busy and under staffed!! They did wind up giving us free croissants and i believe i will be refunded for the long 1 hour fuwa fuwa wait. Cramped limited seating some random 70's Japanese pop music in the background. I will not return and although pancakes were fantastic!! I feel bad leaving this review but i tell it like it is.. My suggestion: Hire younger cute staff and play up to date music and maybe show videos with TV on the wall. Come on guys its fuwa fuwa!!!

If you're looking for a soft, not-too-sweet dessert café, Fuwa Fuwa really shines. What we ordered: * Matcha Soufflé Pancake - The star of the table. Soft, airy, and cloud-like with a creamy texture. The matcha flavour is gentle and balanced--not bitter, not overly sweet. Light, comforting, and easy to finish. * Banana Chocolate Croissant - Flaky and indulgent, but a little heavy on the cream for our taste. The flavours were good, just slightly overpowering. * Iced Lattes - Smooth and refreshing, a good pairing with the desserts. Overall thoughts: This is an excellent spot if you love Japanese-style desserts that aren't overly sweet. The soufflé pancake alone is worth coming back for--soft, creamy, and thoughtfully balanced. Great for: dessert dates, café hopping, and matcha lovers Standout: Matcha soufflé Vibe: cozy, calm, dessert-focused Will definitely come back to try their other menu.

Fuwa Fuwa is a bit inconsistant. I like the fluffy pancakes but the topping are sometimes bland. The signature fluffy pancakes is a good option. I also like the savoury version, jalapenos maple chicken pancakes. Their matcha lattes are not good, it's not mixed well enough so you feel the matcha powder as you drink. Better order the ice tea.

I spent my Boxing Day solo brunch at Fuwa Fuwa on Robson, and these "fluffy fluffy" soufflé pancakes were exactly what I needed to brighten a winter day. They whip the egg whites to perfection and cook them at a low temperature, leaving them incredibly soft, bouncy, and light. What I ordered: Classic Tiramisu Pancakes: Delicious and authentic texture. Hot Matcha Latte: A steal at only $3.99 (promo ends Jan 9, 2026!). Current Promos (as of Dec 2025): Spend $20+ and get a complimentary slice of cheesecake (or a discount if you prefer). They are also giving out three coupons valid through Jan 31, 2026! The Experience: The aesthetic is lovely--bright and soft with yellow, cream, and white tones. I arrived at 11:40 AM and managed to snag a table just before a rush of 15 people walked in. There were only two staff members working (one taking orders, one making pancakes). I felt so bad for them as they were absolutely slammed! Since I didn't have plans, I didn't mind the wait, but do note that my latte arrived just as I was finishing my pancakes. Overall, the food is worth it if you have the time!

Yummy!!!!! That's all I need to say about this adorable soufflé pancake dessert bar. They have a good amount of tables inside and a nice restroom. Service is helpful and friendly. Yes they have some savory dishes on their brunch menu but there really is only one reason to come here- the delicious soufflé pancakes. Be prepared to wait about 20 minutes for your order but it is well worth it. We got the savory sausage sandwich and the raspberry caramelized banana pancake. The sandwich was fine but omg, the pancake was so fluffy and not overly sweet. The volume next to us ordered the burnt cheese cake, the tiramisu pancake and the crème brûlée pancake. They way overrides but they loved it all so much that they every last crumb!! This place is fabulous!!!!

It seems soufflé pancake is a hot trend. Many places in Vancouver area offer this menu. I like the pancake here. If you like it, you should come here and try. Located on the main food street in downtown Vancouver. Lots of many other good food spots, I like, around here. One stop shopping! Lots of table and seats. Clean.

Absolutely awful. Their kitchen was slow and they did not have any of the fried chicken dishes available. Strawberry matcha tasted horrible. I ordered a cappuccino and they said their machine was down so they would have go switch it to a latte. Made me a COLD hot latte. Food was pretty cold and the pancakes were mediocre. Felt more like a fast food chain than a proper sit down meal. Will not be visiting again.

I came here for their February special: tiramisu soufflé pancakes + ceremonial matcha latte for $17.50. Service was friendly...I placed my order with the cashier and one of the girls brought my drink and pancakes to my table. It was a bit of a wait for the pancakes, but I didn't mind because they make the pancakes fresh to order. I loved the how fluffy and jiggly the pancakes were. The cafe is cozy with plenty of seating.

My family and I went to this spot not long after they opened. Come for the souffle pancakes of your dreams- so fluffy and soft with nice mellow flavors. Stay/cone back for the fancy drinks and great service. Come when you have time as the pancakes take a while to cook and are made to order. One of our orders broke apart while cooking so it took a little longer than the rest of our food to come out while they remade it. We didn't mind but they were super apologetic and went above and beyond making us other menu items to try. The souffle pancake french toast were great. Great fresh fruit with everything as well. Super cute cafe. Will definitely be back when next in Vancouver.

Jam Cafe, Vancouver Jam Cafe is my favorite brunch spot. Anywhere. That sounds like an exaggeration. It isn't. I've been traveling to Vancouver for work for almost a decade, and every single trip includes a stop at Jam. If I'm lucky, two. I've also become that coworker who convinces everyone to meet outside at 7:45 in the morning so we can be part of the first seating at 8:00. Thankfully, we're all from the East Coast and have been awake since 5:00 anyway. Over the years I've successfully JAMfluenced more business travelers than I'd like to admit. And yes, it's still worth the wait even if you're not first in line. The restaurant itself is tiny. Cozy farmhouse vibes, mismatched decorations covering the walls, and maybe 15 tables between the dining room and patio. It feels more like someone's favorite neighborhood breakfast spot than one of Vancouver's brunch institutions. The menu is comfort food turned up to eleven. Everything is indulgent, creative, and somehow still balanced. You can tell the kitchen starts with great ingredients because every component tastes like it could stand on its own. I try to branch out every visit... and then usually end up ordering the Tater Tot Bowl anyway. Crispy tater tots, buffalo sauce, Mexican street corn relish, and ridiculously good pulled pork. It's the kind of dish that sounds like it shouldn't work, but every bite somehow gets better than the last. And then there are the cinnamon roll pancakes. They are enormous. They're also one of the best brunch dishes I've ever eaten. Birdfluencer Lorraine M. declared them the best pancakes she's ever had, and after several visits, I don't have much of an argument. Service is exactly what it needs to be. Friendly, efficient, and quick. The staff knows there's a line forming outside before the doors even open, but you never feel rushed. Overall, Jam Cafe has officially become part of my Vancouver tradition. At this point, a work trip to the city doesn't really start until I've had breakfast here. If you're visiting Vancouver and only have time for one brunch, this would be my pick without a second thought.

And as I soon as I walked in I noticed the portions people were receiving, holy cow! Are we in Texas? I ordered a chai latte and it smelt so good. And tasted even better, best chai I've ever had. I hardly made a dent in my food though. There was a bit of a wait for the bathrooms. I loved the decor too. Honestly I see the hype for this place, but I believe it's mainly for their HUGE portions. Dont get me wrong the food was delicious! But I don't think waiting in a line is necessary for this place.

We had waited quite awhile to get a table and then the portions were puny. Also, I think one of us at the table had found a fruit fly or something like that in some of the food or drink. We ordered the following: Egg Benedict Souffle Pancake with Oyama Sausages Egg Benedicat Souffle Pancake with Avocado Okonomiyaki Souffle Pancake Tiramisu Souffle Pancake Rose & Lychee Soda Hojicha Oat Latte Earl Grey Tea Americano Orange Juice OK...could have been happier but that part was our own fault. Didn't realize they took reservations so we walked in without any reservation on a Saturday morning, had to put our name down on a waitlist and waited what felt like an eternity to get our table. We will go in with a reservation next time. The food was sooo good though. Very quickly forgot about the unpleasantly long wait for our table once we dug into our food. The pancakes were soooo fluffy and jiggly! Especially the Tiramisu souffle pancakes. They were stacked so high and had so much jiggle action. No need to travel all the way to Japan for jiggly souffle pancakes. The ones we have here at Fufu Cafe in Vancouver are plenty jiggly and everything tasted awesome as well. In fact, we've travelled to Japan twice and both times failed to get jiggly souffle pancakes. We had some awesome pancakes in Japan, but never did manage to get any jiggly pancakes. Highly recommend this place but do make sure to make a reservation before going in, or else you'll be waiting a long time to get a table.

I chose to sit outside on the patio instead of inside at the bar to take in that Canadian Vitamin D! It was sunny and hot, but the patio had a great view and was perfect for people-watching. My server, Dursh (or something close to that), was really cool. He asked my name, made me feel welcomed, and gave solid recommendations. He even picked my drink for me, which I ended up enjoying. He suggested a Benedict dish, but I'm not a fan of runny eggs. I had already decided on the El Camino poutine and plot twist....it also came with two runny poached eggs. Even so, it was still delicious, mainly because the yolk texture wasn't an issue with the crema on the dish. That poutine was an easy 9/10. It came loaded with cheese curds, pork carnitas that weren't dry at all, bacon, pinto beans, roasted pineapple for a little sweetness, salsa, jalapeños, pickled onions, salsa verde, cilantro crema, and spinach. The herb potatoes were seasoned so well too. All in all, a great last meal in Vancouver from the food to the service (even beyond Dursh, everyone was helpful) to the patio vibe. Great spot.
