I love Japanese soufflé pancakes, so I was really excited to try this place, but unfortunately I ended up a bit disappointed. My husband and I ordered the strawberry refresher, classic soufflé pancakes, avocado eggs Benedict on a croffle, and the teriyaki chicken karaage. The strawberry refresher was delicious and probably my favorite part of the meal. The classic soufflé pancakes, however, weren't quite what I expected. They didn't look nearly as aesthetic as the photos, there were some burnt areas, and the flavor felt like it was missing something -- just slightly bland overall. The avocado eggs Benedict was okay, but the hollandaise sauce had a flavor I couldn't quite identify that tasted a little off to me. The tater tots also had a strange fishy-type seasoning or flavor that I personally didn't enjoy at all. The teriyaki chicken karaage wasn't as crispy as I expected either. Waited over 1 hour for two fuwa fuwa pancakes!!! $40 CAD! I'm guessing they screwed up with some mix up and gave our pancake to some other guest... They looked busy and under staffed!! They did wind up giving us free croissants and i believe i will be refunded for the long 1 hour fuwa fuwa wait. Cramped limited seating some random 70's Japanese pop music in the background. I will not return and although pancakes were fantastic!! I feel bad leaving this review but i tell it like it is.. My daughter wanted to try out this place so we headed over there at 11:40. They opened at 11. After we had waited for 2 others to order at the kiosk and at the counter with the worker (probably 10 minutes) the worker told us that they were OUT of ingredients and that we couldn't eat there and we basically had to leave. Fuwa Fuwa is a bit inconsistant. I like the fluffy pancakes but the topping are sometimes bland. The signature fluffy pancakes is a good option. I also like the savoury version, jalapenos maple chicken pancakes. Their matcha lattes are not good, it's not mixed well enough so you feel the matcha powder as you drink. Yes they have some savory dishes on their brunch menu but there really is only one reason to come here- the delicious soufflé pancakes. Be prepared to wait about 20 minutes for your order but it is well worth it. We got the savory sausage sandwich and the raspberry caramelized banana pancake. My family and I went to this spot not long after they opened. Come for the souffle pancakes of your dreams- so fluffy and soft with nice mellow flavors. Stay/cone back for the fancy drinks and great service. Come when you have time as the pancakes take a while to cook and are made to order. One of our orders broke apart while cooking so it took a little longer than the rest of our food to come out while they remade it. i'd been wanting to check this place out for awhile, so when a friend happened to be in the denman area, i suggested we meet there. it was about an 18 to 20 minute walk for the both of us, coming from opposite directions. we got there at around 3:30 pm, late start to my day and my first meal. for the first half hour, we had the entire place to ourselves, which gave the whole thing a private brunch vibe that felt almost too good to be true. we split the eggs benny, stacked on a mini pancake base with avocado, bacon, house made hollandaise, mini hashbrowns, and a side salad. the pancake leaned sturdy more than fluffy, (to hold the egg and toppings) the hollandaise was a touch runny, and the bacon could've been more crisp. i should have asked for extra crispy. the highlight were the tater tots and the salad, light, fresh, and just right for that 3:30 pm brunch mood. my matcha with oat milk didn't help much, watered down and forgettable. then we spotted another table getting a towering strawberry dessert, jiggly and glowing in the sunlight, piled high with whipped cream and glistening berries. it looked incredible, and for a moment i wondered if we should've gone sweet instead of savoury, or at least shared one for balance. but with dinner planned in just a few hours, we held back. i came here mostly for the sweets, but curiosity about brunch pulled me in. lesson learned: next time, i'm saving room and making dessert part of the plan. read more

Went to Fuwa Fuwa for the first time yesterday. I was super excited to see that they had Japanese soufflé pancakes - I've wanted to try them for so long! I got the tiramisu Japanese soufflé pancakes. They were good. Rich but light at the same time. The inside was pretty eggy - but that is likely to be excited since soufflé is an egg dish. The place is cute but not fancy. You order at the counter, they give you a number, then they bring you your food. They specifically say it will take 20min to make the pancakes, so be prepared to wait that long. Worth the wait though! I got the strawberry refresher and I wasn't much of a fan. It was quite carbonated, which I didn't expect (maybe that's just my ignorance though). My friend got an Oreo frappe and said it was good. I'd like to go back and try some of their brunch dishes. Lots of yummy things on their menu. read more

And it's not that expensive to be honest for what it is and their pancakes are huge. Also, I suggest getting the tiramisu one because it is so good. Me and my man come here at least once a month and last time My Honey got the Tiramisu croissant and he loved it doesn't taste much like tiramisu, but it has a good flavor. I've had a similar Japanese style soufflé pancake in Pasadena which had a line out the door. This place made that place seem like a fast food version of the real thing. Fuwa Fuwa's cakes were light, fluffy and not too sweet for the sweet ones. We also ordered the avocado benedict to balance the tiramisu ones out. The savory ones were equally delicious.
