Took the family out for lunch today (Monday) to get Nessy burgers. We've eaten here before, so we know how busy they are during lunch. I double checked their hours of operation to make sure they'd be open. The website states 7 am to 7 pm, except holidays. Today isn't a holiday. We were excited to see that there was no line when we drove up: "Oh good, we missed the lunch rush." Then my son said, "There's a closed sign." It was 1 o'clock on the nose. An employee was out front, wiping down the tables, so I asked if they were really closed. "We're closed" was the reply. No explanation. We went somewhere else to eat. After running some errands we passed by Nessy Burger on our way home, and guess what? They were open and had their usual line and full tables. So, what am I missing here? Do they close from 1 to 3? I don't get it. Three stars for the memory of a good burger. read more

Ehhh...I don't mind eating a satisfactory meal, but paying a lot for it? That's a different story. Almost $8 for a regular hamburger? Okay so here are the PROS: it was wrapped in the paper well. The meat was hot, but the cheese didn't melt (hmmm plastic cheese?), and the veggies were crisp. The CONS: the price, the meat crumbled (that happens?), the bread fell apart and was not warm, the the cheese didn't melt on a HOT patty. Yeah, this was as mysterious as the mascot. This was our first time eating here we figured we should try the burger. So we did with an order of fries. Peoples were friendly, place looked clean. We received our food fairly quickly. First noticed how big they were. Could barely get our mouths around it. Everything was fresh, meat, lettuce, tomato, onion, and bun. Fries were cooked well. I liked the sauce they used on the burgers. I am surprised at all the compliments about the flavor of the meat. I really didn't notice any unique taste of the meat. I was definitely late to the Nessy party, as I went there for the first time just last year. I'm happy it's close enough to me so I can make up for lost times. Nessy's is a sweet little outdoor spot that has expanded from a simple stand to a built out food trailer with seating and umbrellas. It's the perfect afternoon patio burger joint. So far I've had the Nessy Cheeseburger, Nessy Turkey burger and the chicken breast sandwich. Hands down my favorite is the turkey. I'm not sure what magic is in that patty, but it's the best turkey burger I've ever eaten. Classic burgers with all the fixings. They're heavy on onions, so keep gum in your car. I remember going to Nessy Burgers once YEARS ago, when it was at its old location on the 76 next to the gas station, even though we pass by the area quite often. Felt like a burger so we thought we'd check out their new location while in the area. We got the Nessy burger and Breakfast burger, along with some fries. It was busy when we got there and they have a very small seating area so we ordered our food to go. When our number was called it was on a tray.....apparently the "to go" part wasn't relayed to the people putting the orders together. We noticed it happened to another party that was picking up their order while we were waiting to order. Looks like their in-house communication needs to be worked on. Now to the food, I am not a fan of onions so always order without. They did leave it off the burger but to my surprise the handmade patties have a LOT of dehydrated onions mixed in to the patty. That right there brought the rating of my burger way down. If I could ignore the onions the meat itself was good/juicy and the eggs on the breakfast burger were pretty good though I would have liked them a little runny. Obviously that's a personal preference. The others said the Nessy burger was OK, just a burger and not one they'd make a special trip to this location for. There are other burgers on the menu they'd come back to try because as I mentioned earlier the meat used for the burger was good. They did say they'd have to be in the area and in the mood for a burger to come back. The Nessy Burger is The real deal and quite large in size. They say it's a half pound but I swear it's bigger. In the pictures I had the Nessy breakfast burger. Almost as big as my hat. I have been looking forward to eating at this place for many years. I finally got the opportunity and can say it's a very good burger. However for the price. In-N-Out is the far better option. There is no indoor seating available and what seats they do have are limited. You can tell the burgers are made with quality ingredients. But for a burger, fries and drink, you are paying about $15. That is a bit much for the downgraded atmosphere of this place. That being said, I would eat here again, I just wouldn't seek it out. read more

If you know, you know. If you haven't made your way here to try a Nessy Burger...then you need to. Nessy Burgers is really right off the beaten path, being just off the 15freeway. You have most likely passed this location many times. But now, it is time to stop in. Yes, this is a simple straight forward burger. I have heard the term "over rated" used to describe the burgers here. But to that I give a solid middle finger being used to point to the door. A good quality tasty burger is never over rated, and in my opinion is often under appreciated. There are no crazy rare ingredients here. You can go nuts and get exotic toppings such as bacon or avocado I believe, but why mes with a good thing? The Nessy burger is a pretty massive patty that reminds me of childhood cook outs during the summer. Hand formed with more texture then you will ever find in a main stream processed patty. The burger is the built with a plethora of fresh vegis and a thousand island type dressing. You really can't go wrong with the burger here, BUT they do offer a few other items from nachos to even a steak. So check em out and please...make sure you thank me later. read more

I've been here a few times and I was very satisfied with the burgers, shake and fries in the past. Unfortunately I was there yesterday and was not impressed with the Original Nessy cheese burger. The shake and fries were totally awesome, the staff were attentive and the area was clean and pleasant. The burger was incredibly dry and overcooked to the point where it was hidden in the bun. We LOVE to stop at Nessy whenever we are driving by. My husband eats everything and loves the burgers as is. I can't eat the buns or cheese and for a small, roadside operation, they really nail the lettuce wrap version. I'm always so happy and impressed. They serve the lettuce wrapped burger in the container, on top of a plate, with a fork and knife, and then wrapped in foil! And they don't bat an eye or act like you're weird for requesting it with no bun. They're so helpful. Do check for the side of sauce before driving away because it's an easy item for them to forget but they'll happily correct it quickly. (Also, the fries are perfection. We love Nessy Burgers. They are better than in n out in my opinion. Every time we drive to San Diego or are in that area we stop and get a burger. Usually I spit burgers with my hubby as they are a full meal alone. However this last time when we got to the counter I had to have my own. Definitely worth the stop and worth the cost. Nessy used to be where the park and ride is now, they operated out of a small trailer type of place, they have great burgers and fries. Well they moved down the street a few years back when the park and ride was built. But their burgers got even better. And there is always a line, be patient you will love the food. I alway get a Nessy burger with bacon and avocado, with onions... next time I'm going to ask them to grill the onions, I bet it will even taste better.
