I've been coming to Nessy's sporadically for about 2 years now and I feel it's about time I do a review. Firstly, Nessy's has a great location for the locals of Fallbrook, Bonsall and those who traverse the 76 often. It's off the side of old highway 395 and near the 76. So it makes it convenient to stop in after your exit and drive into Fallbrook especially. The parking is descent for the size capacity and there's always been a spot for me when I stop in. The establishment is pretty much open-doors and outside. So the kitchen is in a trailer and you can dine outside on their benches that have umbrellas for shading. It isn't exactly the most cozy, but will suffice if you're just there consume a good burger. Keeping in mind that you're outside, you are also in "nature". Being in "nature" means that there are birds that will sit at your feet awaiting crumbs and aggressive flies who show no shame while attempting to land on your food. It's sometimes a bother, but not a deal-breaker for me. The service is quick and friendly. You walk to the window, place your order from a relatively simplistic menu, take a number and grab a seat. We usually get our food in less than 15 minutes. The food comes in huge portions and for the price, you get your belly's worth. They also have amazing turkey burgers as well. Don't be afraid to customize your order and ask for things not on the menu, staff will accommodate whenever possible. Live in the area and want a good/quick burger? This is a review of lunch with my brother at Nessy Burger in Fallbrook, California. First, I really do hate writing a negative review about a place that has slightly legendary status. But frankly, Nessy Burger didn't impress me. The staff was friendly. There will probably be a line-up. The person taking the order seemed a little lost also. The food came out in about 15 minutes. Now that's an classic original burger it's a two hands cheeseburger huge get it cut in half. Onion rings were crunchy it didn't fall apart. We love Nessy Burgers. They are better than in n out in my opinion. Every time we drive to San Diego or are in that area we stop and get a burger. Usually I spit burgers with my hubby as they are a full meal alone. However this last time when we got to the counter I had to have my own. Definitely worth the stop and worth the cost. This place is definitely worth a visit! Very simple menu accompanied with simple but delicious food. If you want mass amounts of good food, come here. Location (4/5): kind of off the beaten path but the restaurant itself is easy to spot from the road. You just walk up and order and find seating at one of the few tables nearby. If there is no space at the restaurant tables there is a lot of overflow tables by the market so bring your friends and grab some grub. Service: even though the lunch line was long, it moved pretty quickly. The food came out very fast too, so if you don't have a lot of time this is a good option. Food (4/5): I take burgers seriously because I take fries seriously because that savory combo is worthy of respect. Case in point, my wife and I once saw a burger joint on the way to a well-known Italian restaurant and went there instead, even though we had reservations and it was out anniversary. I digress. When I say this place is worth a visit you can believe me. It isn't the best burger in the area but the burger it is well made. This is such a random location for a burger joint, but it worked out pretty well for a halfway point to meet up with my brother, who was coming from Camp Pendleton. When I drove up, there was a line, so I considered it a good sign--hey, that was a rhyme! Wow, I never do that. Anyways, there is a main parking lot that is shared with a market and a rib joint, but they also have their own dirt parking area in the back. There are about half a dozen tables in the front where you place your order and also some tables towards the back adjacent to the market. Their restroom was surprisingly clean! You just never know when it comes to small places off the freeway, but it was very clean. I'm big on this because I go on a lot of road trips. For this reason alone, I would recommend stopping here if you are hungry and really need to pee! Plus, there's a Mobil gas station close by and it's really easy to get on and off the freeway at this exit. Onto the food! My brother ordered the breakfast burger, which as you might expect, is a regular burger plus two eggs. He really liked it. I ordered the Nessy burger, which is basically a cheeseburger. Their "special sauce" is basically thousand island. It was a decent burger with a nice soft bun. Oh, but their chili cheese fries! You know the saying, "if you're going to do something bad, do it right?" Well, these exemplify that. Always heard for years about this place and drove by it thousands of times but never stopped. Finally decided to grab a burger from here. Small location with a crowded area to order, especially when you have to wait for your order. The customer service there was nice and friendly. The menu is pretty simple - burger, steak sandwich, chicken or hotdog. The burger was pretty big regarding the patty size. Hints of onion mixed in but I will say the ratio of cheese to the party size is not correct. The whole time biting into it, I felt like I was eating a hamburger without cheese. Nessy's burgers are AMAZINGLY juicy and delicious. The Nessy burger is so flavorful and beefy. The turkey burger is the best turkey burger I've ever had. I am so accustomed to dry, bland turkey burgers but Nessy's turkey burger is juicy and flavorful. They give raw onions with their burgers but will happily grill them. (So much better if you ask for it grilled!) Not only are these burgers delicious, but they are humongous. That is very apparent if you browse the uploaded pictures of their burgers on Yelp. They give a lot of lettuce, a slice of tomato, and melted cheese. The thousand island dressing is just icing on the cake for me. I always put thousand island on my burgers and fries, so the fact that they have a bottle of thousand island sitting out for unlimited use is way over the top for me! There are also bottles of ketchup and mustard for those who prefer those condiments instead. The fries are good but nothing extraordinary. If you have to try anything, try the Nessy burger! I agree that Nessy looks like a place that would be featured in Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives! It looks like a trailer home and has three cafeteria tables outside. Worry not if there's no space, it's in an extremely large parking lot that is guaranteed to have a parking space. I see a lot of people ordering it to go and eating in their cars anyways. Unfortunately, they only have soda cans and they are kind of a rip off. I just went to the Mobil gas station next door to get a large cup of soda. They conveniently accept credit cards and you have a great view of the mountains and freeways when eating there. Although this place is kind of in the middle of nowhere and seems like a random rest stop for travelers, I will definitely be returning to get their burgers and probably try their Nessy hot dog.
