My boyfriend is obsessed, and he got me a nessy burger with grilled onions and fries. The grilled onions were delish and the burger was hearty. The secret sauce (1000 Island and grilled onions and some other secrety ingredient) were pretty reminiscent of In-N-Out, but it also tasted somewhat different. I've come to this burger stop many times before their new location. The food here is good and really nowadays it feels a bit rushed when ordering here. It makes sense, this place is very busy and i wished they would just slow it down a bit. My burger was interesting it was falling apart and very thick, I didn't mind the thinness just that it fell apart. The bun was over toasted for my liking and crumbled like toast. We were on our way back from Vegas looking for a hamburger joint and our Yelp community had good things to say about Nessy's. Our burgers were definitely on the large side with the classic onions, tomatoes and cheese in it. The chili cheese fries were chock full and oozing out of its container basket. I wanted to try out the steak burger, but sadly they had run out of steak. The sign says that they close at 7 pm, but the counter guy said they close at 6 pm. Get the side of thousand island dressing and pickle chips near the drink station area. There is only outdoor seating, so dress appropriately for the cold/heat. From now on, if ever we are coming from/to Vegas, we will mark this place on our itinerary for some good grub. read more

It had a thick slab of meat with an egg, lettuce, tomato and thousand island dressing. This was called the breakfast burger which costs me $8.99 or so. Pretty pricey for a breakfast burger. It was okay. I took a bite and tasted good until I hit the middle. It was bright red. That seriously grossed me out. I couldn't eat the other half as I was just getting sick at the sight of seeing raw, RED meat. I could take medium which is a pink to well done but straight up raw red was just not good. It's a small shack that sells nachos, chili cheese fries and burgers. The chili cheese fries were better than my burger. I washed down my food with a Diet Coke. I paid a total of $34 for all the food and drinks. Pretty pricey if you ask me. I honestly used to like this place a long time ago but not anymore. There were benches in front to enjoy your food but no restrooms except for a porta potty in the back. Parking is anywhere in front. Yes you get a gigantic burger but it is definitely an average (at best) burger. There aren't a ton of food options this far into fallbrook so it will do but it was lackluster especially since I had heard such rave reviews of Nessy Burger in the past. Very disappointed. My hubby and I stopped by yesterday and ordered the "top sirloin sandwich" it was very good bigger the expected good portion of meat. We liked it so much we decided to order one to go and asked for medium well on the steak and to put lettuce onions and tomatoes on the side so bread would get soggy. I even told the cashier my husband liked it so much he wants another one to go. To our surprise when we got home and tried to eat it the sandwich only had 3 small thin strips of burnt meat. As you can see on the pictures the second one we couldn't even eat it. We will never go back to Nessy's and I suggest you check your food before you leave. The menu right in front of my face literally said they were open until 7 and I checked their hours online before packing my family in the car. Their in person menu, website, and Yelp say 7am-7pm 7 days a week. I arrived at 6:10 and the woman who turned me away wasn't even nice about it. I never even knew that this place existed until a friend of mine invited me to meet her here to grab a bite to eat. I was a little apprehensive because it looks like a regular hamburger stand, which sometimes can be hit or miss, but these are seriously some of the best burgers you will ever have! It's located slightly off of HWY 76, just a short way down Old Hwy 395. There's a little market here too, and a small nursery, which gives the place a very small town, local vibe. I love places like this. You don't see many of them around nowadays. The food itself is greasy, but delicious, and worth every single calorie, haha! The line wasn't short when we were there, and the staff was professional and courteous. Looking behind the counter, things are well kept, clean, and pass my over-scrutinizing inspection standards when it comes to eatery cleanliness, haha! I'm very glad my friend introduced me to this little gem of a place, and I'll be sure to come back any time I'm in the area and find myself hungry for a good, thick, greasy burger! The line was long, but went quick, their menu is small with only a hamburger, turkey burger, steak sandwich, polish dog, fries, shakes as an option. I ordered the steak sandwich for myself, my family ordered the nessy burger, fries and polish dog. I was not impressed with the food. The food was plain tasting and fries tasted old. We did get excellent customer service and the food came out right away from the grill. The employees were practicing Covid cleaning procedures inside, but no one was outside wiping down tables. After almost 20 years of patronage, I doubt I'll ever be back. Last night, I arrived at 5:58p, the open sign was still on and other people were being served. I checked the yelp listing for the hours, which showed 7pm as the closing hour. Once I arrived at the window with my wheelchair patron and we were informed that there were now closed. I showed them that the yelp listing showing the hours and we were told that they close early during shorter days, which is not notated on their hours signage nor on the yelp page. Now, I want you to understand, this review comes after my last visit where I had to wait over 15 minutes for a couple to finish a lusty matinee in the ladies room! Since the move from the old spot, the service has declined... significantly. Things were better when the older couple was actively running things. I can only hope things change for the better, like better communication by updating your yelp listing for correct hours or turning off your signage when you're closing. read more
