As some of Yelpers mentioned below, Nest Tea House is opened by ex-Tbay owners (ever since Tbay started the new ownership, I've heard Tbay's drink quality is not the same as it used to be). The menu here is very similar to Tbay's menu and "Milkstache Teas" (basically Hokkaido green / black tea & sea salt green / black tea) are Nest Tea House's specialty drinks. Nest Tea House is located right next to Big Lots and I spotted high school looking Asian kids hanging out in the parking lot. The moment I stepped into the store, I could smell this scent that you normally get when you walk into the new or refurbished building. Anyhow, there are approximately 7 indoor tables, 1 indoor bar table, and 1 outdoor table. You get 10% off if you use Yelp check in deal & you also get a free stamp card (10 stamps = one small drink, but can't use offer on hot grass jelly). *** Hokkaido green tea ($3.85 + extra $0.50 for boba): Did I start to grow a mustache after I finished this drink? Well this ain't some kind of magic elixir, but it had a pretty strong green tea taste! The ratio was slightly more tea and less cream. My go to would always be the strawberry green milk tea 70% sweet with light ice & no toppings & they always make it just right each time! They're kind & eager to help with the menu & usually have parking right outside the plaza lot, which is a plus for me. It's a little hard to find so I included a picture of the entrance here. We ordered the guava green tea with boba, 75%sweet and the hokkaido iced coffee with pudding. The guava drink wasn't that good. I know I ordered less sweet but it tasted like less than half sweet. Most places do honey boba, but their boba didn't have much flavoring which was sad. Came here during lockdown to do a quick pickup. I tried the classic milk tea and a matcha beverage (think it was also a milk tea). Both were delicious at half sweetness. I am super eager to swing by and try their other drinks in the near future. The location is not impressive but has plenty of parking. Leaving this stretch of Las Tunas can be a pain, but finding parking shouldn't be an issue. The store itself is located near the back of the plaza and kind of easy to miss. It's quite plain but clean inside. I was impressed to see the staff wearing masks and putting down markers on the floor for social distancing. They also requested patrons wait outside for drinks. The store also has a loyalty stamp card, so yay to that. Edit: After seeing so many patrons recommend the Hokkaido milk tea, I want to comment on it. I don't normally enjoy super sweet drinks, but after seeing so many recommendations for the Hokkaido milk tea, I ordered it with less than 50% sweet. This boba place is just good but nothing stood out. I got the passion fruit green tea and it tasted like all the other cheaper boba places. It tasted extremely artificial and syrupy. It was just a boring drink. I asked for 25% sweetness and it still tasted too sweet and fake. Tasted like I was drinking straight up passion syrup. I came at 4:00 on a Sunday and they ran out of actual boba. I got lychee instead and it was okay but it was very thin. There were plenty of places to sit and a nice study spot. They have great music and the employees are very nice. Parking is easy. WiFi is pretty decent and public to everyone. Taste is individual please be reminded. This is just my friendly opinion! I think this place never disappoints! Ive visited so much at this point. I think this place has been by far my favorite boba place in San Gabriel. I used to go to the one in Arcadia, but since this one is slightly closer to me, I now prefer to go here. Parking is not bad! Just park on the street or in the lot. Drinks wise, I personally lean towards more of the refreshing drinks. So far I have had their Jasmine Green Tea, Rose Green Tea, both regular chrysanthemum and the honey chrysanthemum and Grapefruit green tea. For sweetness for all of them, they use the machine like usual boba places do. Therefore, it usually comes out too sweet. Please keep in mind it already has syrup in it so choose the sweetness wisely! The jasmine green tea is brewed nicely here! It's not too bitter but it has a good amount. The rose green tea (I have also tried the rose green milk tea as well!) it really does taste like you're biting out of a flower. Personally my favorite, but if you're not a fan of biting out of a flower this drink is probably not for you! But if you do like rose drinks, they don't use the monin rose syrup (the monin ones has more of a candier taste while theirs taste more like a flower). I personally love love love the taste of rose so this is usually my go to! The chrysanthemum both honey and regular is really nice like every other place! It's light, great go to on your days. Again, choose wisely on the sweetness! Grapefruit has a good bitterness and sweetness to it! If you want more bitter I recommend going low on the sweetness to your preference. Prices are usual like any other boba shop and service is really chill. And lastly in terms of studying, I think this place is quieter compared to the other location in Temple City in my opinion! read more

Good amount of seating, and popular for studying during the day or hanging out, but the awkward waiting space in the front is what docks off a star for me. By far my favorite milk tea shop in SoCal! We got the Hokkaido Black Tea Mustache drink (left) and the Guava Green Tea drink(right). Very average boba/ tea shop! I came here to do work one afternoon and the space was really nice and well lit. I thought it was a great work spot because they had WiFi and outlets. However, the drink I got was really mediocre. I ordered the jasmine milk green tea with boba. The boba was not very chewy and oddly hard, which was not enjoyable. One of the things I didn't appreciate was how loud the employees were. They would yell to each other from across the room, laugh constantly, and come in and out of the shop. It wasn't very busy so perhaps they were bored but it was distracting for me even with headphones on. I think this place has one of the best bobas in the area, and even when I got tea without any boba or extras it was really good. Service is friendly, and the space is just cute. To work here is good, and they have some seating, however it does get pretty crowded, however whenever I work here, the internet is atrocious. This is my go to spot for tea in the sgv area. It's hidden in the back of the plaza, next to the dying big lots.The tables here are always packed it seems to be a popular spot for students. I come here at least once or twice a week. I normally just get a green tea or black tea with a quarter sugar. I like the flavor in the tea I think it's brewed very well. On occasions I will sometimes get boba they make it with just the right amount of chewiness. They don't offer any food or snack here it is strictly drinks. The workers are nice and they make your drink pretty quick. They also give stamps out for repeat customers so it's pretty nice if you come here often like me. read more

Watermelon juice seemed really popular here but it was sold out when we came. So we ended up getting rose green tea and guava green tea. Disappointingly these flavored teas were made with syrup. Not only did these drinks taste artificially flavored, but the green tea was also really bitter. We ended up throwing both these drinks away. We probably won't be coming back. Updated review for 12/19/20 night shift: Placed a phone order last night around 10:25 pm then picked it up 10 mins before their 11pm closing time. My friend overheard the new guy working tell the new female employee to tell my friend to come earlier next time in a rude tone because they close at 10:45 pm, lol. I come here regularly so I know for a fact that they don't close at 10:45 pm. Last call is at 10:45 pm and your Yelp and Instagram page says otherwise. Is it even that hard to collect a few stamp cards/money to pick up drinks that were placed over the phone before closing time? Lmao. If you guys were closed @ 10:45, it wouldn't make sense that there were two other customers there about to order after your "closing" time. If you guys close at 11 pm everyday, you guys should take orders until 11pm.. you guys don't even serve food, lol. It doesn't even take long to make drinks. If your business hours have changed, at least update them on your business pages so customers know and won't have to deal with petty tones from lazy workers. Update: Manager/owner reached out to me. best tea in the area no doubt, but that girl at the registar is super rude. so lazy to the point that a simple gesture of helping the customer throw away the plastic wrap of the straw can't be done. She'd actually TELL ME where the trash can is so I can walk there and throw away the plastic wrap, while there is a trash can right beside her behind the counter. ridiculous. My suggestion: 1. If you are this lazy, provide a small cup on the counter for the plastic wrap like what chatime and coco do, or install a trash can below the counter with an opening on the countertop like what starbucks do, or ask the other staffs to peel the wrap of the straw before you serve the drink like what jamba juice do. 2. if you hate your store so much and decides to impose your obnoxious negativity on a regular customer, maybe just stay home and let the other staffs run the show, they are lovely. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like this place! It is on the smaller side and there are a handful of tables, but most of them were taken by people on their laptops. The workers here are really friendly and the prices are super fair. I got the green milk tea slush for around $4 and my boyfriend got the guava green tea for around the same price. The slush was perfect in terms of sweetness, but we definitely should've adjusted the guava tea; it was too sweet.
