He was so informative, patient, honest, and truly cared about making sure we understood every step of the process. You can tell he genuinely takes pride in what he does. It's been the same dirt lot since the house was built over a decade ago. We finally decided to get it done so our new dog could have a nice place to play, especially during the summers, where we can control the heat levels. JJ and associate came out quickly and made me feel really comfortable. There was no weird upselling (I wanted something really plain) and no fear mongering. I could tell immediately that we were going to go with Rock N Block so I cancelled my other appointment with a different company and put my deposit down right away. Within hours, JJ had the plans to me and I got the HOA paperwork started. Once that was done, I was scheduled immediately to have my yard worked on. The day of, the workers came, did a final measurement and got to work. It took 3 days but it came out exactly like I was promised and had envisioned myself. The workers were extremely friendly and self contained. They were responsible and trustworthy. They were also very concerned with my happiness. They asked me if things were looking good quite a few times. They literally made my yard perfect. I'm still looking for imperfections and cannot find them. If there were any complaints, the communication could be more but to be honest, they give information and don't feel the need to consistently remind you, which is also good. We did have a small hiccup where the workers didn't know they had to install a few other things but JJ made it right immediately and I can only be happy about that. I'd rather have the problem be solved immediately then get a phone call being told it would be done, although I can see how some people would want both. Pricing was fair in my opinion. I was told it should have been less expensive but I don't think so. The job is immaculate and the items are gorgeous with great quality. The craftsmanship means a lot to me and I would pay for it again. I wish I took some before pictures but I completely forgot to. Imagine a literal nothing of a yard. Now, it's gorgeous and I can't wait to accessorize!

He had one of his guys come out within 3 days of my review and repair all of the boards that were warped. He screwed all four boards together, used multiple stakes on each side (instead of just two originally), and even set the corners into concrete so they wouldn't come up again. The project was originally scheduled to take three days, but the entire job was completed in just a day and a half! The entire crew was incredibly professional. They worked with incredible speed and efficiency, and the finished work was absolutely perfect. We were especially impressed by Nicco, the manager, and the entire crew. Watching them work so hard in the intense heat, with such dedication and professionalism, truly made us appreciate their efforts. We also received estimates from three other companies. The other companies told us that a design image would cost $500, but this company provided ours free of charge. We were also told by other companies that we would need additional drainage pipes. After carefully examining our patio area, Evan confidently told us that they were not necessary, which helped us avoid an unnecessary expense. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, professional, and trustworthy. They sincerely listened to our wishes and questions and gave us honest, professional advice. Because of that, we felt completely comfortable leaving the project in their hands. Now, one of our favorite things to do is simply look at our patio throughout the day. The solar lights petered out quickly in the winter or after a cloudy day. I went to my trusty Yelp app and came across Las Vegas Backyards and their many five star reviews. I sent information about my project through Yelp, and I received a response the next business day to setup an estimate. The project manager was very thorough, and he explained his recommendations for the project while keeping aesthetics in mind. The estimate was right in line with what my research had told me was an average price for this type of job. I was, however, a little surprised that the project manager did not arrive with a catalog of various lighting fixture choices to peruse. He did send several photos of his recommended fixtures later that day based on our preference for something modern. Communication was quite good through a group text with all the respective players involved. The date for the install was arranged within a week or so of my inquiry. There was a slight snafu on installation day, as the fixtures we had chosen were sold out. We were sent photos of alternative choices and were able to find a contemporary design that was to our liking. The first part of the installation took about a half day with trenching, running power lines, and installing the fixtures. The second day was a quick installation of the transformer. I was happy to see they had installed a smart transformer with WiFi access and an app to set schedules. I do wish they would've gone over this ahead of time to discuss what type of transformer would be installed (again, I am glad they picked a smart model as that's exactly what I wanted). Unfortunately, one of the spotlights was found to be defective by the installer during their testing. They returned the next afternoon to replace it. Payment was handled in phases with certain percentages due at certain points in the installation. Payment is easily made online with a credit card, but unfortunately there is a surcharge for this type of payment. They do have other payment options if you want to avoid the surcharge. Now we have a wonderful, gorgeous, and very upscale looking landscape lighting setup that really increases the curb appeal! Thank you to Las Vegas backyards!

We saw a friend's yard and we were so impressed that we asked for details on which company did the work. We spoke with Kalian at Advantage based on the recommendation and we were immediately impressed with her knowledge and kindness. We met with Ken the following week and he walked the property with me making suggestions. Ken definitely has a great eye for landscaping. Matt was also great, helping us on a daily basis with the logistics and giving his opinion on how to make the area shine. His prices were within reason for the scope of the project (unlike the other company we had hired, whose project/contract price was almost 3 times the estimate of the project AFTER we paid the deposit). The final result was incredible, but what really stood out was the entire experience working with Advantage. They truly listened to what we wanted, took our ideas seriously, and also brought their own creative vision and expertise to the project. We set a date (07/06/26) for the replacement and what I thought was a fair negotiated price ($250), it really ended not being a fair price at all. Paco initially wanted $280, I negotiated with him to $250. Even at $250 he was higher than all others by $50-$100 more. I asked him if I could use my credit card, he said yes but there would be 4% surcharge. I didn't agree with that, so I asked if he could wave that, he reluctantly agreed. So, date and price was set. Come Monday 07/06/26, he claims his credit card service isn't working, so I agreed to a Zelle payment. Our appointment was for Monday (07/06/26 at 11:30; not only did his credit card service not work according to him, but he continued to change his arrival time. He texted me he was running behind on 07/06/26 and now would arrive no later than 12:30. By this time I'm seeing many red flags. I called him @ 11:46 on 07/06/26 to verify with him that he would arrive no later than 12:30 and was still intact. While confirming his 12:30 time, now he tells me 1 O'clock and blames me for his late arrival because I called to verify the time. During our conversation on the phone he kept interrupting me, talking over me, telling me I was upset that I couldn't use my credit card (furthest from the truth), and that I set the price for the job and so forth. I told him, I no longer needed his services, he was rude and not accommodating or respectful of my time and needs. Who wants to invite someone to their home after a terrible text and phone conversation, NO THANK YOU! To say the least, he wasn't given the job. Be careful who you hire people.

Martin completed our initial estimate, and at first the communication was great. Unfortunately,…read moreafter that, things started going downhill. It's disappointing because I really wanted to love this company, but the entire experience has been filled with frustrations, constant follow-ups, and having to ask why things weren't getting done. On the first day of the project, the crew arrived and began measuring the area. They knocked on my door because they wanted to confirm some measurements. When I went outside, they explained that the measurements Martin had provided seemed off and that the border where the plants were supposed to go was much wider than expected. I agreed and told them that wasn't what Martin and I had discussed. I immediately called Martin and explained that the measurements were incorrect and did not match the design photo I had been shown. He told me he had used Google Maps for measurements and that sometimes it's not accurate. I was shocked because I specifically thought he had physically measured the area himself. He then informed me that additional materials would be needed, resulting in an extra cost of approximately $1,900 for more pavers and artificial grass. I explained that this was not my mistake and that it was his responsibility to ensure the measurements were accurate. I had asked multiple times if the quoted amount was final because one of my biggest concerns was avoiding a seam in the artificial grass. While he ultimately corrected the issue without charging me the additional amount, I still ended up with a visible seam running through the grass. Which I'm not happy about still. We also added a raised seating area with lighting. After installation, the area had a significant slope that was very noticeable. When I brought it to their attention, they explained that some slope was necessary for water runoff. However, this wasn't a slight slope it looked more like a sunken area on one side of the square. They eventually came back and corrected it. The pavers have also been an ongoing issue. They were uneven and not properly leveled. The company has returned twice to address the problem. While there has been some improvement, it still isn't what I would consider acceptable, and the unevenness remains noticeable. The plants they installed also began drying out. They had to return twice to address that issue as well, but only after delays and on their own schedule. Currently, I still have cracked pavers, chipped pieces, and stained pavers that need to be replaced. I am still waiting for a response regarding these issues. Once again, everything seems to be handled at their convenience rather than with urgency or concern for customer satisfaction. My overall impression is that once the company secures the job, customer service significantly declines. The quality issues, lack of communication, repeated repairs, and delays have made what should have been an exciting project into a frustrating experience. As a customer who invested a significant amount of money, I expected better workmanship, accountability, and follow-through.

Paco is not the ideal small business owner I'd recommend to anyone…read more I contacted him to replace my irrigation valve on Saturday 07/04/26, while the initial conversation was cordial, the end result wasn't (07/06/26). We set a date (07/06/26) for the replacement and what I thought was a fair negotiated price ($250), it really ended not being a fair price at all. Paco initially wanted $280, I negotiated with him to $250. Even at $250 he was higher than all others by $50-$100 more. I asked him if I could use my credit card, he said yes but there would be 4% surcharge. I didn't agree with that, so I asked if he could wave that, he reluctantly agreed. So, date and price was set. Come Monday 07/06/26, he claims his credit card service isn't working, so I agreed to a Zelle payment. Our appointment was for Monday (07/06/26 at 11:30; not only did his credit card service not work according to him, but he continued to change his arrival time. He texted me he was running behind on 07/06/26 and now would arrive no later than 12:30. By this time I'm seeing many red flags. I called him @ 11:46 on 07/06/26 to verify with him that he would arrive no later than 12:30 and was still intact. While confirming his 12:30 time, now he tells me 1 O'clock and blames me for his late arrival because I called to verify the time. During our conversation on the phone he kept interrupting me, talking over me, telling me I was upset that I couldn't use my credit card (furthest from the truth), and that I set the price for the job and so forth. I told him, I no longer needed his services, he was rude and not accommodating or respectful of my time and needs. Who wants to invite someone to their home after a terrible text and phone conversation, NO THANK YOU! To say the least, he wasn't given the job. Be careful who you hire people.

David responded to my urgent need to address a leak in my irrigation system where the poly tubing had ruptured underneath my driveway as well as a faulty joint in the main irrigation valve coupler. David arrived and proceeded to walk me through my system, discussed the age, pros/cons and we discussed the options to resolve. The age of the system was 20-years and In the end, agreed to rebuild the entire system at a very reasonable price. David knocked the work out in less than 3-4 hours. I never knew the layout of my old system, second owner and drip line tubing and emitters were buried. Now, I was able to photo document everyting with a map of how all the main and drip line tubing was laid out for future reference. I came away very happy with everything new and 1-year warranty. After discharging another lawn service person; I searched the internet and requested quotes for my front and rear yard maintenance. A company representative Jeff came out, looked around and gave me a fair bid for services, which my wire and I accepted. In speaking with Jeff for a tree trimming of my 7 Sumacs and one Eucalyptus, yet another fair bid was accepted. Trimming was scheduled immediately for a few days out. Early that morning Jose and his assistant arrived to discuss how we wanted the trees manicured. Due to the always heavy shed of Sumacs, we opted for a massive trim. Jose and his co-worker attacked the trees systematically, and finished in a fair amount of time. They were very thorough, caring of the end results and cleaned up after themselves in a great way. While we have yet to have their yard services for critique, we are excited to see if that project comes out as promised, equal to the trimming. Our experience so far with this company and all the personnel has been over the top. They are extremely coordinated and professional in every procedure; from price bid, scheduling, checking for satisfaction at completion, payment and communications. We truly hope this company will continue to exceed our expectations and allow us to remain one of their clients. I called Vandorne on Tuesday and asked if they could come to my residence on Thursday regarding irrigation leaks in my front and back yard. The appointment was scheduled for 9am. Dakota was at my residence shortly after 8am. Dakota made quick work in the back yard as he found and repaired several leaks. The front yard was a bit more challenging as the leak was discovered to be under the driveway. Approximately 8 feet of hose was removed. There was about a one inch crack near the center of the hose. The cleanup was great. I waited several days to write this review to ensure there would be no further leaks which there wasn't. I recommend Vandorne for any irrigation issues you may have. read more

They were prepared on our first meeting with pricing and samples of product. The job took one week and the entire staff was great! Jose and his crew were on the job on time every day. From the estimate, to picking out plants to the finish, VanDorne Services don't disappoint. Quick response. ON TIME. HARD WORKERS!!! He wanted to charge me $2000.00 more than this company. This was the second estimate. He was very good at following up. He likes to talk more on the phone, but he does text as well. I thought he was very honest, helpful, and gave great recommendations with his experience. I love the after pictures. He let me pick where I wanted the bushes/trees to go, and the type from the approved list. I am getting a rebate back that almost covers everything but $300.00. Then Ancelmo informed me that the City of Henderson has a rebate program too. Now that the work is done and I have the form certified, I submitted to them the notarized form and they will pay me an additional $725.00. After it's all said and done, I am making $425.00 total and then I don't have to pay my gardener $1400.00 a year. Plus my water will be going down. I think this is going to save me about $2000.00 a year.

He screwed all four boards together, used multiple stakes on each side (instead of just two originally), and even set the corners into concrete so they wouldn't come up again. The workers were careless in the way they cut the turf boarders and installed the Bend-a-board edging. The turf edges rolled up in a matter of a few days and the boards lifter out of the ground. We had them do the edges over again twice and same crappy results. Just the worst workmanship.

Well, my 'simple' (as Randy put it) 10 day project took over 60. He told us it should only take 10…read moredays, but that was far from the experience. You won't know when the crew is coming. If you continuously ask, he'll say 'oh that's just not how things are done'. Showed up for 2-3 hour increments at best. Maybe one time every couple of weeks. They were here a total of 4 times- 5 if you include the subcontractor for the patio cover. So, the original 10 day estimate Randy had given would have been ample. Finished product is nice, but contract was signed 4/8- work didn't start until 6/10 and wasn't completed until 8/19. It honestly felt like we were continuously pushed off for higher paying clients. End result= nice, but the process wasn't worth it. I should have gone with someone else.
