Generally when you think of shaved ice you think of heavy syrup that makes you feel terrible after. The fact that all the healthy girlies in Costa Mesa haven't blown this spot up is insane. Tried this place for a quick delicious treat and this place is so cute and has everything from ice cream to paletas, to food , fruit bowls , chicharrones, tamales and everything. Honestly this is one of those gems I didn't think I'd find around these parts ! When I was a young lad, my grandma would buy us these ice fruit pops or arroz con leche pops that this lady next door made. This is a hundred times better but oh man does it bring back memories! Located off 19th and Pomona Ave in Costa Mesa it is across from the redemption church in this tiny little plaza. I was looking for ice cream on Yelp and noticed this was nearby! There is parking in the back but I did go closer to their closing time . I got a mamey fruit ice pop, guava , arroz con leche and mango i think. My favorite was the guava by far! DO NOT COME HERE!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! If I could, I would give them ZERO stars. By far the worst customer service, ever. Keep in mind, before placing my order I asked the woman working if she can make the Chamoyada THICK. She said she could so, I proceeded with my order. When she handed me the Chamoyada it was way too watery, I might as well have ordered an Agua Fresca. I obviously refused to pay $7 for it, because I had asked beforehand if she could make it thick. When I asked her to remake it the way I asked, she said "sorry, I can't do that" Then, I asked if she could just put more ice and she said "no that's how we make it" A few minutes later a man walks out from the back and tries to explain to her how to make it and how I wanted it. Later I told him that it's not that hard to make It my way. I told him that I too, work in customer service and help run a business, as a result, I know changing things to fulfill a customers request isn't that hard. I mean, they are who keep your business open. I decided to leave it at that and as I was walking out he made a remark behind my back, so I turned around and asked if he wanted to talk to me... Does not wear gloves when preparing food. Does not wash hands in between orders. Nice lady, it's just a shame she's not extra cautious when dealing with food. I just moved to the area and decided to stop by this place today. I ordered the tostitos mixtos (basically tosilocos with a lot more fruit) and my bf got the arroz con leche paleta it was about $10 for both. SERVICE: The lady working there was the owner and she was so sweet and helpful. I wasn't sure what to get and she explained to me some of the specials they had and what the more popular treats were. I was the only customer at the time I went and she greeted me and served me promptly. FOOD: We both loved our treats! The owner explained to me that she makes all her paletas with all natural ingredients. OVERALL: There is a parking lot behind the building which was nice. It's a small lot so I am not sure what it looks like at busier times. The food was delicious and excellent customer service. I will def be back again! I hope they reopen soon. It's a crime there's not a line out the door. Authentic and delicious. Get the coffee flavor or the nutella flavor. The fruit flavors ate great too. I haven't tried their tostada made on a giant chicharonnes but maybe one day. They are temporarily closed for a remodel. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I like Mexican popsicles and go to the big and small places. This one seems to be a small mom and pop. It's in a great location because it's down the street from Hoag so whatever ailment you are experiencing, paletas are waiting. But I tried the mamey and it was really icy. Like shards of ice and crunching in your mouth icy. It also costs more than other places, which I could forgive since it's near Newport.
