Sloppy cheap salad. One of the four steak tips was full of fat. I asked for medium, and there was zero pink. I usually don't mind that, but I felt it was maybe important to point that out also. Service was normal. The ambiance is just a typical dark-wooded place. I can't believe what they charged me for the junk they gave me that was supposed to pass as food. We finally sat down and the waitress did not seem amused to see us very mellow and basically rushing us to hurry up and order. I was a lifelong customer of the New bridge until today(anywhere from 10-20 times per year). I came into the busy restaurant and waited my turn for a table. After 5 minutes a couple came and waited as well then roughly 10-15 minutes later 4 people came in and had to wait. When the tables opened up, they sat the 4 people first then they went and sat the couple. I had to ask the girl if I was invisible. She informed me the other people are sat first because it's a bigger group for the table. Well that's it for me. Clearly they do not respect their customers. This place is a ridiculous.. never again. So I made an order of buffalo wings and steak tips with rice. I picked up my order and it was the wrong order. Instead of them serving me my rice that I asked for they substituted for fries. When I picked up my order they should've inform me that what I had asked was not available and given me the option whether I wanted the fries. Consistent throughout the years. Prices have jumped quite a bit but I'll happily pay for their high quality steak tips rather than cheaper, lesser quality elsewhere. Took my 2nd visit to this Hot spot Chelsea, MA fixture. It was jammin with peeps just like the last time I was there. The atmosphere - not glamorous, but doesn't have to be. Got take out from NewBridge Cafe yesterday, surf and turf steak tips and scallops, it was horrible, not only portions small but the baked scallops tasted terrible, all this for $45 00 absolutely ridiculous. I have went there for 35 years and all they do now is raise prices and do not care about customers. New Bridge is not quite a dive but it's definitely not fancy. It's a neighborhood joint, is what it is. Met a couple friends here and had a good time. The waitresses do a great job of serving up drinks, clearing dirty plates and getting things done. I chose the half rack and they were excellent. Meaty, moist, flavorful. If you can't figure out what you want, then get the ribs and something else. I also had steak tips on mine. Nice meaty chunks, cooked something close to "medium." The food is always great but it never used to be so expensive! $33 for steak tips and salad is a price that I would expect at a more upscale, fancy Boston restaurant, not at the Newbridge! Last weekend, I went two nights in a row and the New Bridge I've know for over thirty years was back on track! I was salivating for their steak tips and salad and decided to give them another try and was not disappointed. The steak tips were luscious and cooked perfectly. The salad and dressing mixing in the the steak juices and marinade was delectable; while the waitresses both nights were attentive and friendly. We went to New Bridge last night. My girlfriend and I both ordered the lamb/ beef tip combo. I had not been to the New Bridge for more than ten years but remembered the tips as some of the best around. Unfortunately the meal was disappointing. The beef tips were very tough. The salad was served on the same plate which was too small for the meal. The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce. The tomatoes were hard and underripe. Disappointing for the middle of Summer when they should be at their ripest. At $32 per meal not a very good value. I give NB 3 stars only because the waitress was friendly and the service was good. read more

I remember when it was 1/2 the size and if u had a table near the door in the winter ....you froze ever time the door was opened. 30 years later a bunch of us decided to swing by and grab a bite ... The Place is twice the size with a good size bar that holds maybe 15 ...also a standup counter that leave a small alleyway for people to pass by ...the place is relatively small. Be prepared to get to know your neighbors at the table two inches away from you ! They make use of every inch of the floor space ... Piantidosi rolls were incredibly fresh and they don't skimp on the butter ! Of course I had to have the Famous grilled Steak tips with salad ! The proprietary marinade and salad dressing is incredible ! You cab buy the Newbridge marinade and dressing to take home if you like . I also hear you can buy the tips ???? This lil neighborhood joint is the Been back a few times since and found the quality to be lacking. Between tough tips to flavorless tips. This place is wayyyyy too sporadic when it comes to quality. They made a mistake on our order and brought us the baby back ribs instead of the country ribs which we had ordered. I got takeout today. I ordered linguine with oil and garlic and broccoli. When I got home there was no broccoli. There was only oil and garlic with no flavor just a lot of oil and garlic. I had to take that and jumping in the pan and try to fix it myself by adding flavor, it was horrible. I will never order from here again. read more

Old School Classic The New Bridge Cafe is the quintessential Chelsea eating and drinking establishment. A working mans city with working mans restaurant/bar. This place hasn't been remodeled in 30 years and I don't think they ever should. Here's the scoop, this place specializes in Steak Tips. To be honest probably the best order of tips I have ever had. They have a house bbq sauce that the tips marinade in and it is very addictive. Tip: 2 people can order a large order of tips and salad (great homemade dressing), it's plenty of food As for the staff, the NB has several seasoned vets who friendly and make you feel very comfortable. Our bartender in particular was a trip. She suggested an espresso martini and she made it to perfection. Great meat and potatoes kind of old school establishment. My friend's order was mixed up and he was served a CHICKEN parm and wasn't warned until he took a bite. (Could've been bad had he been a vegan or had an allergy). And my cheeseburger was cooked well done. Although there were offers to send back (which I dont trust). I also inly got 6 or so small fries. There was no adjustment or compensation in the bill. Holy crap I love it here. The largest meals I have ever had. The steak tips are really yummy large flavorful and ample, sites? Enough to feed an army. Got the ribs. Again, easily would feed two without a problem. It's definitely a go to when you want a belly filling meal. read more

The place reminded me of a neighborhood restaurant - warm and inviting. The server was helpful and friendly. My wife had the pasta with clams. A full plate of pasta (they may have used the whole box) with a mound of clams pieces and garlic bits on top. We had plenty of leftovers. I had the lamb tips, bbq'ed med rare with a side of broccoli. The were seasoned perfect and delicious. Check out the photo. I had the large portion and almost couldn't finish it. My only negative comment is that they used jarred garlic bits as topping for the pasta and broccoli. Better to use sautéed fresh garlic instead (hint hint New Bridge Cafe chef on upping your game).
