After 16 years Trieu Chau Restaurant in Santa Ana is still doing business authentically and making people happy each and every day. Congratulations to the Original owners for keeping it alive and thriving in 2026. We love you guys for all your hard work and dedication to making the best noodles soup in town. Hope to see more people come here and try their traditional style comfort foods from the motherland. Blessings to you and your beautiful family today. Much love and success in everything. Love Tin Tin Lucky Phat Buddha.

Chow fun is super yummy. The Chinese broccoli does it for me. Usually busy, opens early and closes early. Typical busy, quick atmosphere with a high noise level. Parking is not great as the lot is small and cramped.

What a blast down memory lane. Haven't been here for a few years, and today we were craving some great noodles. I remember in Santa Ana, Trieu Chau was always a stable. I used to come and eat with my parents on the weekend. Today, we came by and got the beef/ball noodle soup and the dry beef Satay noodles and the egg rolls. Everything was great and tasty! The dry beef satay noodles were a 10/10; the beef/ball noodle soup was a solid 8/10; I wish the meat were a little more tender; and the pork egg roll was an 8/10. If you're local or driving past Santa Ana, come and give Trieu Chau a try for some great Satay!

House Special Rice Noodle 5. Crispy Fried Doughnut (limited from 8-10am)

Growing up in Santa Ana, Tiêu Châu has always felt like home. This was one of our go to breakfast spots the kind of place we'd roll into early in the morning, still sleepy, and leave completely warmed from the inside out. I've been eating here for as long as I can remember, and somehow it tastes exactly the same as it did when I was a kid. That kind of consistency is rare... and special. We always order the house special rice noodle soup with a side of crispy fried doughnut sticks. The house special is loaded minced pork, shrimp, duck, chicken, meatballs, pork roll slices every spoonful has something different. It's hearty, comforting, and full of flavor without ever feeling too heavy. And of course, it's all paired with hot tea that just makes everything feel complete. Pro tip: don't skip the crushed peanuts on the table. Add them to your dipping plate with a little hoisin sauce it completely elevates the flavor and gives it that perfect nutty richness. If you like a little heat, throw in some pickled serranos or a squeeze of sriracha and some lemon But the peanuts are a MUST. That combo is the real secret. There's something so nostalgic about sitting there, hearing the clink of bowls and chopsticks, sipping tea, and sharing breakfast with family. It's more than just food it's memories layered into every bite. I loved coming here as a kid, and I still love it just as much today. Places like this don't just feed you, they grow with you. I already know this will always be in my rotation, and I can't wait to bring my own family one day and tell them, "I've been coming here my whole life."

Nostalgic! I've been going to this place since I was a child and it still gives the same vibes that it did back then. This restaurant is one of the go-to spots in OC for authentic Vietnamese/Chinese noodle soups. The broth is flavorful and the bowls are always packed with lots of toppings. Service is quick, this is a fast casual place so the ambiance can seem busy/hectic but the food makes it all worth it. There can be a line on weekends around lunch time so avoid them then if you're not a fan of long waits. Overall, highly recommend to both locals and those visiting out of town!

Tried this long-time local spot after a friend's recommendation. The menu is extensive, and we ordered Trieu Chau satay noodles and seafood noodle soup. There was some confusion about whether the satay noodles came with beef or pork, but the owner was very kind and offered to remake it with pork. Portions are huge and the complimentary soup was good, but the satay flavor was milder than expected and the Kway Teow was like pho to me. The seafood noodles were better overall, with house-made fish balls. Affordable prices, plenty of seating, but staff were sweeping and vacuuming around our table while we were eating and no other customers were around. This probably can be waiting after we leave. I've been coming to this place for over 40 years and it's been amazing most of the time but this last trip I was very disappointed. We came with a party of 6 and yes, there is a wait most of the time. It's super popular so it's busy. We ordered the house noodles, 3 of them with duck. Then also the seafood house, then finally a fried rice. The fried rice is usually amazing with smoky flavor and rice that is typically amazing but this trip it was just wet and mushy and the meat was pretty much non existent. The noodles were just ok, idk why this time was so different. Since I've been coming here for so long. I hope the next time I come back it lives up to the hype that I remembered for the last 40 years.

This place is packed when we came. There was a wait-list and they do it the old school way where they give you a piece of paper with a number on it. When it's busy, you'll have a hard time parking because it is a shared parking lot and it's not big. So come at an off time. Aesthetics is not what you're looking for here. They do have cool Pokemon artworks on the wall though. The food is good a tad bit salty on some but still feels familiar to me. They did forget our orders until we called upon a person to ask where it was. They had only brought out one that we ordered and we were pretty much done when we were waiting for our soups. There were a handful of staffs as well. We'll be back if we have any cravings. And I'll probably bring my family here when they visit.

Good food, but long wait time. Don't forget to join the waitlist. Parking is hard to find. Beef chow fun never disappoints. Service is fast and staff work hard. It's always crowded, which says something. I recommend you give this place a try.

My Hu Tieu with the veggies & sauces mixed it. Definitely fire.

This is definitely the OG spot for some Hu Tieu. Parking lot and plaza is definitely small and you will definitely fight for parking. Luckily we were able to get parking as we pulled in but usually it's packed and insane. You'll also need to grab a ticket with a number so you can get called for your table. We waited around 30 mins for a table of 4. It's definitely a typical Vietnamese shop where it's settings is sit, get greeted and they'll take your order right away. Simple and very Asian. They're nice and friendly and it's just typical noise level inside of family chatter. Menu is easy to follow for the Hu Tieu. Pick your noodles and what type of broth you want. I got a regular beef meatball broth with thick noodles and my husband got the egg noodles with the seafood and broth on the side. As soon as we order, food and drinks were out in 5mins and our bill was given to us so we can easily go pay once we're done eating. Simple but definitely hits the spot when it's cold outside. Reminds me of home when we have these type of meals. Definitely still the go to spot for Hu Tieu.

Chow Fun Seafood (Pho Xao Do Bien)
    Annie L.

I've grown up going to this place and eating the Chow Fun Seafood (Pho Xao Do Bien). It is the best thing I've ever had for chow fun!! It has tons of veggie options from Chinese broccoli, shrimp, imitation crab, squid and carrots. It is sautéed perfectly and has a great gravy sauce to it. Recommend to get the gravy, not dry version. Service is good, quick and straight to the point!! Recommend to bring your own water bottle, which they don't mind. Once done eating you pay at the cashier and mention your table #. Ambiance is extremely busy during lunch hour. You have to go inside, write down the number of people in your party on a clip board and take a number. They will call out your number.

Trieu Chau has been around for decades; we come here for quick bowl of rice noodle soup and stir fried chow fun. As an old school diner, there isn't fancy decor, but there are enough tables to seat customers inside and outdoor patio. Food comes out fairly fast, and it's a quick turnaround that the wait is not too bad. We had the #19 Chao Chow Rice Noodle soup for $13.50 and Seafood Chow Chun $14.50. Price has gone up over the years, but the ingredients also doubled in the noodle soup; there were two of everything in the noodle soup. Flavor was good, although we tasted more msg now than before. They used to only take cash, but now they also accept credit card ($20 minimum).

#19 Chao Chow with small egg noodles and small rice noodles

I come here pretty often. I love the portion size of noodles and broth we get. I have 3 go to noodles I always order: #19 Chow Chao, #28 Beef Stew, or #29 Beef Combination. 10/10 on all of them. I also love it with small egg noodles and small rice noodles! Broth is so flavorful by itself, but I always love adding in the pickled garlic, pickled serrano or jalapeño peppers, and their sate.

The restaurant itself is a bit on the small side so you'll be close to your neighbors not that it was an issue personally. My buddy and I ordered our items and shared with each other for a good full experience. We got the three-in-one noodles medium heat and the Ma Hu Beef noodles with mild heat alongside the cucumbers with medium heat as an appetizer. Cucumbers were very fresh! However, they really were just cucumbers with a little heat on them so they weren't anything too special. Once the main entrees came in, I couldn't stop myself from digging in! I forgot to take a picture until after some damage was done to our meals. Three-in-one was so flavorful and sweet with the noodles becoming incredibly soft after having mixed it all together. The star of the show for me though was the Ma Hu Beef noodles. The beef was remarkably tender and delicious and the noodles had a firmer texture that complimented with the flavors. Oddly enough, the mild heat on the Ma Hu Beef was spicier than the medium heat three-in-one! If you find yourself in the mood for Biangbiang noodles, this is definitely the spot to go to. On a side unrelated note about the parking which did not influence my review; the parking here is rough. It's consistently packed so watch out for that. There is a structure across the street that allows parking for the food court. I parked in the structure but I had a bad experience because since it's also parking for the residents above, the gate was closed on us after 8pm. I had to wait for a vehicle to come out and open the gate for not only just me but for multiple other people that had also parked in the structure!Just something to keep in mind. Hopefully that doesn't continue being an issue for future guests.

We've been here several times before and what keeps us coming back is the quality of the food. Today, they had a new chef cook our food and it was terrible. Green beans were extremely sour (way way too much vinegar). Mapo Tofu had a ton of oil but not enough sauce, so it was just flavorless except the oil. The fried pork chop was over fried where some pieces you can't even bite through. The rice had too much water in it and was mushy. I rarely return food but this time it was so bad we had to let them know. We returned all of our dishes back to them. They let us know there was a new chef today, and they would remake all the dishes for us with the original chef. The replacement dishes were just as good as all our previous visits and it was excellent again! So thanks to the staff for fixing the problem. I'm not sure if they are training a new chef to take over, or as a backup, but they need to be careful as serving bad quality food like that would drive most people to never come back. We knew the food was good from prior experience, so we knew we could ask why the food quality changed. For first time customers, or those that may have ordered to go - if you had bad food today, it may have been a fluke due to the new chef. Service however was a amazing as usual. For all our visits including today, the staff has been kind and always looking for ways to help out and make sure we were having a good experience. So besides the food being good, I would say excellent service is also huge plus here. Don't be fooled with the automated ordering and robot delivering the food into thinking there is no service. The people behind the counter are awesome! Hope management takes care of this new chef issue quickly since their food quality is the main reason people come here. There was a night and day difference between the original food we got today, and the replacement!

It had been a couple of months since we were last there and my parents and my daughter had been asking to go back and were really looking forward to eating there. However, we were so disappointed when we went back 2 weeks ago! The menu changed a bit, which was fine, and all our usual dishes were still there. We did notice that the cooks have changed and the original Cantonese chef was not there. I think the kitchen staff really changed how the flavors of the dishes for the worst. My 7yo daughter used to love their shrimp fried rice, but as soon as the fried rice came out, the first thing she said was "how come it looks so different from before." Not only did it look different, it was BURNT. It was like they fried the rice in a burnt wok so every grain of rice was coated in tiny black burnt bits. It was essentially inedible. They also just topped the rice with some tastless blanched shrimp instead of actually stir frying the shrimp into the rice. The green onion pancake used to be flakey with layers and expectedly oily for this dish, but the pancake we got this time was essentially a tasteless tortilla. It literally looked and tasted like a tortilla. No layers, flakes or oil at all and was the worst green onion pancake I've ever had anywhere. The fish with black bean sauce was acceptable, but it was definitely not the same. It tasted more like American Chinese flavors instead of the previous authentic Cantonese flavors. The only dish that I thought was still good was the stir fried eggplants, although my parents said it also tasted more Americanized. We are so sad that the food here has changed so much and it was one of the rare places my Cantonese dad actually said tasted authentically Cantonese in the area. The restaurant was full during our latest vist but we did notice that 90% of the diners and people ordering take-out were non-Asians. When we came previously, there was a good mix of Asian and non-Asian diners, so it seems like the clientele have shifted, which might explain the flavor changes or vice versa. The staff is still very nice and friendly, but it seems like the robot server has been laid off. I don't think we will be coming back again unfortunately as the food is no longer what we loved before. However, they seemed to still be doing well so others must still like it.

One of the spots that you scan a menu at the table and you review, order and pay all in the app. I was really not familiar with the line up and went with the "House Special Beef Pot Roodle" (Roodles are their rice noodles). It was a weekend only item and I tried that. The noodles came separate from the soup. Over all it was very tasty. The meat was a bit fatty and the soup had tendons too. I took that part home and my wife loved it. I tend to avoid the fatty meat and tendons are not good to me. 10 of us so some of the appetizers got passed around. The smashed cucumbers are excellent, and my buddy also got some friend potatoes of sorts, reminded me of a fat French fry. Because my buddy and I sat at the same table we scanned the same menu, he ordered a bunch of stuff and also House Special Beef Pot Roodle. That confused the kitchen and they asked me if I meant to order 2, I said no and didn't realize I cancelled my buddy's order. Part of the confusion of a large party and many scanned menu orders. My buddy was struggling to order and our initial waiter seemed to not understand my friend and that took a little bit to work out, young lady came from the back and was able to quickly resolve some of the confusion and get questions answered as needed. In the end he had lot of food to explore. One thing that caught my eye was several couples there and sharing a large soup item served with a tray of various food items for the soup. Kind of a date night visual and something that looked very interesting. Several couples around us had that same dish and its got me more curious. I ordered their most popular dish, the A1 set, but honestly, it didn't really live up to the hype for me. The broth tasted pretty underseasoned overall. From what I understood, you're supposed to mix all the toppings into the soup with the noodles, but even after doing that, I still felt like the flavor was lacking. Yes, they provide seasoning on the side, but personally, I wish the broth already had enough flavor on its own without needing to adjust it myself. Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing really stood out to me enough to return, and it felt more like a one-time experience. Overall, everything was just okay.

Been to Seven Grams multiple times, primarily for the delicious Xiao long bao. There is a Yelp…read morewaitlist, and you can also join in person. Seating consider is around 10 tables plus hjgh top stools, so if you are a large group the wait can be long. We stopped by yesterday to try out some new items, which were a mixed bag. First the Cheese Chicken Roll was surprisingly good. Imagine the Beef Roll and swap things around to get something off of a fancy KFC menu. It features a crispy flaky tortilla outside, wrapped around copious chicken (katsu texture), some lettuce for a crunch, some melted cheese, and then a spicy Thousand-Island type dressing. It all pairs well, has a good chicken portion, and texture variation too. My only desire would be for slightly more lettuce and slightly less cheese, otherwise perfect. Crispy Lotus Root Fries are solid, but not a replacement for typical potato fries. The lotus version was not as crispy or crunchy, but would be an Asian version. It comes with ketchup and the same spicy thousand island dressing as the chicken roll. Lastly we were let down by the Pan Fried Shrimp&Chicken Dumplings (Whole Wheat). The whole wheat wrapping had a very slight texture difference, not as chewy as the typical dumpling wrapping. But the inside was the main focus. It seemed like it was a fishball inside, a homogenous color and texture and more reminiscent of fish than of shrimp. It's possible we got the wrong dumpling. Based on this experience we would not order it again. Wheat wrapping would be fine, but the shrimp/chicken filling would be a no.

The service was impeccable, they cleaned up a table for us and sat us right away. They got us started and we were ready to eat. There's a middle bar area that you could sit at for larger groups, we were a small group so we sat at the 4-person table. The vibes were modern and sleek. Naturally we ordered xiao long bao, beef rolls, cucumber salad, pan fried dumplings, and a ham fried rice. - Xiao Long Bao = amazing, the soup was not boiling hot, the skin was good, flavors were all there. - Beef Rolls = crispy, tasty, good ratio - Cucumber Salad = they paired the meal really well, wasn't too vinegary - Pan Fried Dumplings = also crispy, great flavors, lots of meat which is my favorite - Ham Fried Rice = this one was good, we wanted a rice dish but slightly oily, otherwise it was good. Overall very satisfied with my late night fix, would recommend and be back!

This helped us get a table much faster than we would have than if we had just shown up and waited. We ordered the large family meal, and there were 12 of us. We also ordered the Newport Lobster, fish fillet with black bean sauce, and an extra shrimp fried rice. Overall, I think the food was good, and the prices are reasonable (except the lobster, which was pricey, as you might expect from anything listed as "market price"). Most of us in the group thought the fish fillet with black bean sauce was the best. I thought it was very good, but not necessarily fantastic. (There are other Chinese restaurants that do it a little better.) The sauce was very good, but the fish wasn't quite as tender as it can be. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Other dishes were good. I think the scallop soup could have been great for some people, but my wife and I both hate cilantro, and there was a ton of cilantro. The pork was also good, and my friends thought the clams were also really good. I found the fried rice a bit bland. And for both the lobster and the crab, they could have made them a little easier to eat by cracking the shells a bit more for us. I hate fighting with my food ... And there was a fair amount of fighting on these 2 dishes. The lobster cost almost much as all the other dishes combined. It certainly looked amazing. And the sauce was very good. But I found most of it a bit overcooked. Maybe it was our fault for asking for a big one. Maybe a smaller lobster might have been cooked a little less. The great sauce (along with the fighting with the shell) might have covered up the fact that the meat was actually a bit tough and rubbery. I don't think I'd order this again. The service was very friendly and pretty fast. And, again, other than the lobster, the pieces were pretty reasonable.

Our family joked around and would say let's go to the travel agency restaurant when we had a craving for Chinese/Vietnamese type of food. I recall the food back then was extra tasty and memorable, leaving me wanting to return again and again. However, my recent lunch outing with my girlfriends changed my mind. Our servers were attentive and friendly. I think it helped that my friend was a familiar customer. We came on a Monday afternoon around 11:30 and It was early enough where parking was still available. We ordered the classic dishes, including salt and pepper fried pork chopsand salt and pepper fried shrimp, but the taste this time around left a lot to be desired. These two dishes lacked the crunchiness and flavors that these fried entrees are supposed to showcase. We found the pork chops to be dry and tough, as if it was prepared a while ago and sitting out for some time before it made its way to our table. The shrimp was not impressive either. At least the shaking beef or bo luc lac was good. The beef chunks were tender, and the flavors were on point. Bonus points for the broth that is complimentary during lunch. Also the complimentary orange slices were a nice touch to end our meal. We'd still return for the lobster and noodle when the occasion comes up.

The beef with the scallion pancakes was sooo tender. The cucumber salad was extra refreshing with the perfect balance of savory and tangy. You also can't ever go wrong with spicy wontons, pan fried buns, popcorn chickens, or braised green beans. Yum! Huge bonus: the restaurant is directly connected to Ben Gong's Tea. Loooove the osmanthus milk tea! I'd recommend subbing out the crystal boba and rice with regular boba and tea cubes.

Mine and my bf's go to are the dry fried green beans, mapo tofu, Chong Qing Spicy Chicken, and Yang Chow fried rice. These are more than enough for two people and we always have leftovers to take home. The mapo tofu pairs soooo well with the fried rice and my bf loves the chicken. Green beans are flavorful and crispy as well! Hot and sour soup is HUGE. They aren't consistent in making this because some days it's the perfect balance of tangy and spicy flavor, but other times its tooooo sour. The restaurant is very spacious. I love that you can just order via QR (on your phone).

This place has great deals and happens to be next to one of my fav Japanese restaurants too! We started with egg drop soup and it was thick and hearty, added a little soy and spice to it and it was great, the schezwan wontons were amazing as well and had an interesting spice chili sauce to them which was great (I used the leftover chili sauce to add to my other food as well). The beef and broccoli had a lot of flavor but was my least fav of everything we ordered. Not bad but typical dish. The fried rice was cooked fine and I liked the veggies they included, it had nice taste and complimented the food as well. The chow mein was delicious and had great flavor and fresh ingredients too. Service was quick and excellent. The restaurant is pretty small so any party over 4 will need to combine tables which is what we did but it worked out. This may just have became one of my new fave Chinese places!
