Came here with some friends who raved about this and having had NEM or Brodard or other spots.. this one might be the best ever. Incredibly fresh, made to order, incredible service... the crispies were so crispy as well! I can't say enough about how great the quality is. I need to try more from here knowing it's so good already. He seems to specialize in catering but the owner is so hospitable and kind. It's a small shop with a few tables and outdoor seating, but the food really speaks volumes about this spot. Amazing nem nuong sausage, veggies, and ultra crispy rolls inside... I need them all day, every day!

Went to Hoang Gia Cafe and Catering and was immediately greeted by the owner, a human beam of light. Like, you could feel the kindness radiating off him. We ordered fresh spring rolls and a Thai green tea, which may sound simple... unless you know my partner's history. You see, he once had a traumatic run-in with a tragically bad green Thai milk tea and hasn't trusted one since. But he tried this one hesitantly, like a rom-com character learning to love again--and fell head over heels. WHen we got home and he--my cautious, never-buys-anything partner--impulse-bought an entire bag of green Thai tea leaves online. I've seen him resist sales, birthday gifts, and free samples. But this tea? This tea unlocked something deep. A fellow customer forgot their wallet and we witnessed the owner sprint--like full-on action movie mode--into the parking lot to catch them. I haven't seen that kind of speed outside of the Olympics or dog park Zoomies. He didn't just care about food--he cared about people. We will be back. The spicy dumplings were out that day (tragic), but I took it as a sign from the universe to return--and also to bring running shoes just in case I need to keep up with the owner.

Yummy... can you see that crispiness. Not your typical egg roll. This is make from shredded rice paper

The grill pork roll was very tasty and the crunch so satisfying. Favoring of the sauce was well balanced I have to say 5/5! They do catering so don't forget to order for your parties. Services was great and accommodating. So polite and answers all your concerns without rushing. Interior was quiet and clean. A great place to relax and dine in peace

Hoang Gia Cafe & Catering Review: 4.5/5 If you're looking for authentic and flavorful Vietnamese cuisine, Hoang Gia Cafe & Catering is a hidden gem worth checking out. From comforting noodle soups to standout grilled pork rolls, this spot delivers quality and taste in every dish. Food Nem Nuong Grilled Pork Rolls - 5/5 (Star of the Show!) These Nem Nuong Nha Trang rolls were incredible. The pork had a slight sweetness and was wrapped around a crunchy egg roll wrapper inside, adding an amazing texture. The secret sauce mixed with chili sauce was next level--honestly, better than Brodard's in my opinion! Absolute must-try. Hoang Gia Egg Rolls - 5/5 These crispy fried shrimp and pork egg rolls were served with Hoang Gia's signature sauce and lettuce wraps. The flavors paired perfectly with the fish sauce for dipping. Crispy, flavorful, and addicting--easily a 5/5! Bánh Canh Tôm Cua Thit + Cua Song (Crab Udon) - 4/5 This was the ultimate comfort food! The traditional tapioca starch (udon) noodles had a nice chew, and the creamy yellow broth was rich and satisfying. They use real crab meat, and the pork slices were perfectly fatty, adding extra depth to the dish. It reminded me of a Filipino noodle dish called palabok, but in soup form. A must-try if you love thick, flavorful broths! Grilled Live Lobster Garlic Noodles - 4.5/5 The garlic flavor was strong (which I loved!), and the lobster was fresh, perfectly cooked, and seared to perfection. The garlic noodles had a deliciously rich garlic butter taste, though a little garlic salt would've taken them to the next level. Overall, a solid and satisfying dish for seafood lovers. Green Thai Tea - 3/5 The Thai tea was creamy and flavorful, likely made with milk and condensed milk. It had a good Thai tea taste, but unfortunately, there were no dairy alternatives available, which could be a downside for some. Customer Service & Ambiance The customer service was top-notch. The owner was incredibly kind, professional, and passionate about his food. A small but thoughtful touch was the free Kirkland water bottles--he doesn't believe in using tap water, which shows his attention to quality. The restaurant itself is mainly known for to-go orders and catering, but they do have some seating available. Inside, there are two large metal patio tables, and outside, a few patio seating options. While functional, it would be great if they replaced the indoor seating with more comfortable, cushioned chairs. Final Thoughts Hoang Gia Cafe & Catering serves up authentic, high-quality Vietnamese food with standout dishes like their Nem Nuong Grilled Pork Rolls and Grilled Lobster Garlic Noodles. While the ambiance is more geared toward takeout, the exceptional food and warm service make it worth a visit. Plus, they offer catering for food, desserts, and cakes, so it's a great option for events. I'll definitely be back! (:

I was seriously craving bun dau mam tom after recently coming back from Hanoi. I'm from San Jose and I couldn't find any places down here that made it the same way as the north where the bun is cubed. Therefore I was so happy to find this place when I was down in OC. It was as good as the spots I've had in Hanoi. The meat was so tender and cooked to perfection. I love the tofu that they used. It's similar to the spots I've had in Vietnam where the outside is crispy and the inside is a bit custardy. The mam was good and wasn't overly salted. I'll definitely be back!

Five stars to Chef Thang Hoang of Hoang Gia Cafe & Catering! Chef Thang got his culinary training in Nha Trang and brought his specialty dishes back to Southern California! He is a former vice president for Lee's Sandwiches, so he knows how to run a business and only uses the best ingredients. Plus he's a super nice guy! CAFE PHIN $7.50. Freshly dripped coffee poured over ice. Grade: A NEM NUONG HOANG GIA $8.25. This is the best dish! Pork spring rolls they make in house. Three rolls to an order. Delicious dipping sauce! Grade: A+ HOANG GIA EGG ROLLS $8. Delicious fried egg rolls. Four to an order. Grade: A- ỐC HƯƠNG SẢ ỚT $18. Specialty snails prepared with lemongrass. Delicious green dipping sauce! Grade: A- BÚN NEM NƯỚNG CHẢ GIÒ $14. Refreshing, delightful bowl of herbs, veggies, grilled pork, and egg rolls. Grade: A GỎI NGÓ SEN TÔM THỊT $15. Salad of jellyfish and lotus root. He brings back jellyfish from Nha Trang specifically for this dish. Grade/ A BÁNH CANH TÔM CUA THỊT + CUA SỐNG: $15.50. Traditional tapioca starch noodles in a savory yellow broth / sauce, served with real crab, and sliced pork! Comforting! Grade: A FLAN: Traditional custard with shaved ice. Get it! Trang has won every community and philanthropic award in the OC. He and his team are amazing members of the community and take care of their customers. He even served us complimentary hot tea as we patiently waited for our food! I'm a huge fan and will be back for the chili crab!

Craving this today and I usually go to the well know B restaurant in the area (you know which one it is) but wanted to try something else. A small place have a few tables inside and outside...I ordered egg rolls and pork spring rolls and a Thai tea and everything came out fast and very good! I love the texture of the egg rolls not the tense crunchy skin but more flaky kind.

1/7/25 $8.25 Nem Nuong Hoang Gia - Grilled Pork Rolls with free coffee promo
    Long H.

Just found my new place for nem nuong cuon/ pork rolls . Came by to purchase an order of 3 nem nuong cuon/ pork rolls for $8.25, there's promo for a free ca fe sua da/ coffee. The pork is flavorful, on the sweet side which I like, the veggies are fresh, the crispy part is actually really crispy and big. The shape of rolls is different, kind of rectangle shape. The sauce is pretty good. It also comes with fresh chili sauces, not package generic like some places. Overall I really like the nem Nuong cuon/ pork rolls. I definitely will come back.

    Fantastic!

I had a great experience at Hoang Gia Cafe & Catering. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt welcoming and comfortable. Definitely a spot I'd come back to and recommend to others!

i am very sorry but the food here was just not delicious. it looks good in photos, but it was really lacking in flavor, depth, the soups were very fish-y, even for a seafood soup (banh canh), and the pork slices had a bid of a smell / gamey-ness to them that i couldn't get over. i kept wishing that i had a bottle of fish sauce / soy sauce / salt so that i could actually taste something besides the gamey-ness of it. they will also not provide you with water / cups of water if you ask for it. they will ask you to buy a bottle of kirkland water. i really hope they'll be able to improve their recipes, or maybe my family and i just came on an off-day.

Excellent food and great service . Primarily catering but lunch menu is great. Portions are large and very reasonably priced!

Found an Authentic and One of a Kind Vietnamese Food in Westminster!! Had the Banh Canh Hoang Gia (amazing crab seafood noodle soup)! And the amazing Cha Gio Re (Egg rolls - quite special technique to wrap around mix of shrimp and meat)! Cannot find in a restaurant in OC!! Awesome flavor and texture!! The manager Thanh and staff are so welcoming and passionate to bring to the people and community! Great service and simple relaxing to sit inside or outside! They also cater! We will be catering for our family and friends next event!! Be back and not hard to remember this great and awesome place! I don't give too many "5 Stars " but this is one special place!! See you again Thanh. Solomon

The chicken was crispy and the dipping sauce gave it that extra yummy goodness. The dish also came with a side of broth that had chicken bits in it, was nice to help digest your dish. I also loved that they gave you pickled veggies & fresh veggies. We also ordered the Loi's Fusion Saltado, upgraded the rice to garlic egg fried rice. The beef was soft and tender, the fries were nice and crispy and the fried rice was fresh. You 100% need to get the Thai Tea. A lot of place add too much cream/half and half diluting the tea flavor, they do not skimp on the actual tea in their drink. The color speaks for itself on the dark orange hue!

I'm a bit late getting around to writing this, and unfortunately, they are already closed, but I still felt like I had to share my experience. I'm not completely surprised that they closed, especially after trying their bò né. I've had this dish many times at different places around Orange County, and unfortunately, this was probably the weakest version I've come across. The first thing that stood out was the presentation. As you can see in the picture, there was this purple-colored sauce on the meat itself, which honestly did not look very appetizing. To make things worse, the sauce was cold and did not heat in time with the skillet, which really took away from the experience. The flavor itself wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't anything memorable. It was just okay, and when you factor in the cold food and the presentation, it made the whole dish disappointing. With so many places around Orange County serving bò né at a much higher level, I would probably recommend spending your money elsewhere. If you were wondering whether you missed out on some hidden gem, don't worry, you didn't. This one felt more like a piece of coal than a diamond. That being said, every restaurant has its journey, and with more time, maybe they could have found their footing. Hopefully, they can take this experience as a lesson, refine their recipes, and bring something better in their next venture. I am rooting for you Loi!

The food comes out quickly, the place is loud because it's packed, and you can definitely feel the hustle and rush. But honestly? If you're searching for a pho spot that delivers on flavor, freshness, and overall experience, don't sleep on this place--you'll leave happy and already planning your next visit.

We've been wanting to try Redbo for a while and I'm happy we finally did. Upon walking in the…read morerestaurant was clean, cozy, and inviting. We ordered combination pho and Wagyu fried rice. The flavors of the pho and fried rice were perfect! Savory Wagyu fried rice with that rich Wagyu taste. And the combination pho had a lot of meat which was all very good and tender. The broth was a win too. You get a taste of all the spices that are supposed to stand out in a bowl of pho. I liked that the thin noodles were chewy and not overcooked. The fries were also really good and our boys of course loved them! Eggrolls were off the chain!! The service was outstanding. Our waiter was so kind and accommodating with our requests. It's a pretty decent sized restaurant
