This is not a margherita pizza??????

Margherita pizza has no sauce on it and a thick layer of cheese. It sucked. It's literally a white pizza with tomatoes and basil...not a margherita pizza. They also gave us wings without sauce when we ordered honey barbecue. When we called about it the owner was very rude and defensive about it saying "their margherita pizza doesn't have sauce on it" ??? and claiming that we ordered plain wings even though it said honey bbq on the slip they gave us. They didn't offer any refund. However the girl on the phone that took our order was very sweet and understanding!! If you want pizza or Italian food in Willimantic go to Tony's not here!!!!

Great food. A big portion of food for the money. The waitress was very nice and polite. We will be bake.

This place is absolute garbage now with the new owners. Used to be a gem but now it's just plain "ok" chain quality food.

Really good pizza. One of my top three pizza places in the area, the others being Tony's in Willimantic and Willington Pizza.

The waitress was hustling. Though the kitchen made a mistake on my pizza it was excellent. Crust was done to perfection

Jacob our waiter was super friendly and 'Jhonny on the spot' taking care of our needs. I had (and recommend) the cheesesteak grinder. My wife had the Rueben which was equally delectable. You feel like you're in a five-star hotel with the sumptuous surroundings which includes a gorgeous view of Lake Williams. But the prices are reasonable. Now the parking - - - There is only one handicap space on the grounds which is very tight and when exiting, have to back into the street going downhill. There is a new parking area they just completed in front of the pool, but it's still quite a trek for anyone who has mobility issues. Then of course there's the stairs. I certainly hope they correct these issues as it is certainly a welcome addition to the community.

Like lipstick on a pig. I had read the previous reviews and…read morethought maybe the service issues would work themselves out a month down the line, so I decided to give this place a try. It was Valentine's Day, but around 2pm, so between lunch and dinner. From the outside, this place is really beautiful, although with a bottleneck of a parking lot that I could see being an issue if it were busy. Don't worry if you almost miss this place, the entrance wasn't super clear and the sign is placed far down the road and low from sight. There's a spacious dining room, a separate bar area, and a porch over looking the lake, so I think you could at least enjoy some nice views in warmer weather. I could tell service was going to be an issue as soon as I walked in, however. They had a high top two seater right at the top of the entrance stairs, directly in view of the host stand and anyone entering the restaurant, that had dirty dishes not cleared on it. There were also a few tables that were not cleared, and a couple tables occupied. The menu is super basic, which was a real contrast to the Valentine's prix fixe menu for two. How are you going to say you're a Mediterranean restaurant and have your menu be dominated by salads, wraps, and burgers? In case you're wondering, when the menu says choice of pasta, they mean penne or spaghetti. The waiter didn't write anything down, had to come back to verify what I'd ordered, and I still got the wrong pasta. I also had one glass of water the majority of my time there, and then he took my glass away when I asked for more water, then later realized what he'd done and brought my glass back with a carafe of water. I'm glad for the carafe because the table was so wobbly that my water spilled once. Other reviews spoke about the price for the area and I can't disagree. I got some wings and I think I paid $14 for some anytizers tossed in BBQ sauce. The chicken parmigiana was burnt all over. The penne was super starchy. I wouldn't call it al dente but it wasn't soggy, but it was a different flour base. Maybe durum semolina, definitely not 00 egg based. I actually was wondering if I'd been slipped gluten free while I was there, but reflection after the fact leads me to lean semolina. In any case, it hardly matters because the sauce is powerfully overwhelmed by what I believe is rosemary. Very pine-y. Not enjoyable as a dining experience, the majority of my pasta went back on my plate. TL:DR - this place looks nice but it has a basic menu that's executed poorly.

Coming from New York, I eat a lot of good pizza and am sometimes disappointed in other states. However, I've had good pizza in parts of CT and Trigo was no exception! We started out with the salad which was absolutely delicious and perfect on a hot day. The lemon vinaigrette kept everything light and fresh and the addition of feta was fantastic. I kept going back for more! We were a party of four and opted for two white pizzas: mushroom bacon and shrimp pesto. I preferred the mushroom bacon of the two. The toppings were very generous and the bacon had a nice sweet flavor to it. The crust was crispy and delicious. Shrimp is one of my favorite foods but something was missing for me in this pizza; I couldn't put my finger on it. It still tasted good, just wouldn't be my go to. These pizzas + salad was plenty and we had a few leftover slices. We capped off the meal with a brownie to share with ice cream drizzled in olive oil. I love this combo and the cold hot effect. All in all, this was a great meal in Willimantic! Prices were great and staff were accomodating and nice. I liked the aesthetics at Trigo and the fresh flowers were a nice touch. Would go back if in the area!
