I love soup, to the point when traveling with friends and I'm in charge of restaurants my friends ask questions like "how many of these places did you pick because they have a soup you wanted to try" luckily my friends were also in the mood for soup during our trip to Salem so this was a welcomed stop by all! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The insides is quaint and has limited seating, but we made it work (since the weather was looking like a storm was on the way).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went with the Lobster Newbury which had great flavor, but not much lobster (I would still get it again). It was a perfect tempature and so comforting! It's not a soup variety I had tried before! My friends got the chicken pot pie, clam chowder, and I think someone got the veggie soup - everyone finished their entire portion and liked their choice! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a great spot for a casual lunch or a lite mid day meal![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

In the very busy town of Salem this spot assumably mom and pop have the kindest workers and staff. They explained the menu and their history which was extremely kind. Tried their corn chowder because I wanted to try little things at all these different places and wow. On a cold day this hit the spot and left me wanting more. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They do have a bathroom but for customers only.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Had a quick lunch in Salem and came here for the first time! Was welcomed by the employee (maybe owner) and he welcomed us. He then asked us if we are first timers and talked about the menu. I was between a roll up and a sandwich and he was kind to explain them both. I got an "Italian" sandwich, forgot what it was called. My friend got the potato pancakes, which they warmed up from the fridge. We enjoyed both of them! The dressing/ oil that came on the sandwich was great. I saw they do soup tastings which is cool. I will forsure be back to try some soup!!

Great soup location in the heart of Salem! We were craving a nice hot bowl of soup that was reasonably priced and got just that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a bit challenging to enter with a stroller FYI, but once you're in there's ample seating to park it alongside the tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is definitely down to earth and no frills.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The soup was served to us immediately and it tasted great. I got the clam + corn chowder and my husband got the lobster newburg. We both ordered the small and found it to be a hearty portion (it included a nice piece of bread). Will definitely stop by again if we're ever in town!

We wanted a quick bite and came here for that. It was in fact quick but the sandwiches are pre-made and their "soft bread" as advertised tasted so old and stale. I didn't want olives on my sandwhich but they couldn't make one without them. My friends had their soup and said it was good fortunately but I couldn't speak to it. Would not return or recommend

Spicy Tomato and Red Lentil (vegan) was spiced and flavorful the bread square was hard on outside and soft on inside. Ate in with a friend ended up bringing quart home, Loved it that much.

The croutons and salad dressing were on the side. Taste was there, it was just so so small I couldn't believe my eyes.

Sad. I ordered from here expecting a nice hearty meal but was instead provided with a pathetic sandwich and an even more pathetic salad. For the prices I thought I would be getting bigger servings. I thought wrong. I've honestly had better premade sandwiches from the off-brand 7/11s inside of airports. I would've been more satisfied had I went to Dunkin' Donuts at 3 pm and bought 3 stale doughnuts that had been sitting out since 7 in the morning. I would've enjoyed Walmart Subway more than this. My sandwich consisted of 3 paltry little rolled up slices of ham, a meager slice of cheddar cheese and some lettuce. These people don't even think you're good enough for an entire slice of cheese. It was like. A third of a slice of cheese. Just a slim piece you'd get from a charcuterie board at a holiday work party that would make you consider quitting on the spot. The actual size of the sandwich left me gobsmacked. Smaller than my hand - which is quite tiny to begin with. This sandwich couldn't even feed a family of four mice. They'd leave hungry and disgruntled. The salad was whatever, considering I don't think its even possible to mess up a salad. It was just equally pathetically sized for the price. A couple pieces of lettuce were rotten so I played Russian roulette while eating it. Maybe I'll wake up sick tomorrow. Who knows. Anyways I ordered this as delivery because I had a cold and didn't want to cook but I think it made me sicker. Giving it 2 stars cause at least the delivery was quick. I'm still hungry.

ALWAYS good food here. The dine in area is small, but the soups make up for it. There are gluten free options.

I was looking for vegan-friendly options near my hotel, and this spot was conveniently close by. The menu had so much to choose from: bowls, handhelds, drinks, desserts, and more. I don't usually order iced coffees or teas, but the Blueberry Cloud Matcha sounded too interesting to pass up. It came out beautifully layered, with whipped foam on top, matcha in the middle, and blueberry syrup at the bottom. I noticed some people using straws, but I drank it without one, and it was delicious. The foam blended into everything perfectly while still keeping those pretty layers. My bowl came out soon after and was just as nicely presented. I especially loved the whipped sweet potato, which was such delicate touch. The bowl was also very filling, with lots of fresh, hearty ingredients, so I couldn't quite finish it--but it was satisfying and delicious. I visited late in the afternoon, around 3pm on a sunny Friday, and the cafe was still packed. There was plenty of seating, including cozy corners and brighter areas near the windows. Overall, it felt peaceful, relaxed, and very much like a community hub. If you're visiting Salem and looking for a vegan-friendly spot, this is definitely worth checking out.

It was a stupid burger, stacked 7 inches high with a wooden stake in it to keep the idiot burger from toppling. They do not serve fries here, you get just a sprinkle of potato chips- literally 15 tiny chips. $23, by the way. The burger was cooked well done and the meat had no flavor, the special sauce sucked and the tomato and arugula was sloppy. The patties were regular burgers, not smash burgers. The server told be to smash the entire burger down to make it a smashburger- WTF??? It all fell apart as soon as I took the wooden stick out as I knew it would. I had two bites and that was it. I let the server know I didn't like it and she was personally offended and told me "everyone loves our smash burger." Just bring me the check and leave me alone. Completely ridiculous!!!!! It was clean, so two stars. Find anyplace else to eat and you will do great.
