I ordered dim sum, the shrimp dumplings were not cooked, still raw, so the waitress took it back, 5 minutes later, we got an order of fully cooked shrimp dumplings. My son ordered baked pork chops rice, but it turned out to be pork slices in tomato sauce. We complained about not getting pork chops. The waitress that was their way to make it. My son took a few bites and told me that it didn't taste good, so we packed it for our dogs. Do Not go there to waste your money. Came here for lunch in a Monday. It was not busy but the staff were not attentive at all. There is no lunch special here except for a list of drinks at a discounted price if $2.50. We ordered the red bean ice but they didn't make any for the day. We ordered the seafood chow mein and lemongrass pork chop & chicken steak. Each at $15.99 an order. The portions are a lot smaller than before (I haven't been back since the pandemic). When our lemongrass & chicken steak order came we didn't get any sauce or rice/spaghetti. Perfectly crisp and moist but it does have bones. Peking Duck Whole. Nice presentation. Good bao buns. Heavy sauces. It's a rich dish but the crisp was well done. I love mixing with the teaming duck pieces which are served separately. Noodles with Shrimp and Curry. This was fantastic. Not too oily, which other dishes suffer from, but wonderful douse of curry flavor. Eggplant in Brown Sauce. Love the concept of this dish but very heavy on the oil. It's too bad. Less oil would have made this dish sing. Almost inedible. Stir Fried Pea Tips in Garlic Sauce. Total winner. But ask for light on oil. This place loves their oil. French Style Filet Mignon. Very tasty. Beef was super tender. Would order again. We were fortunate to go on a Monday night so the place was literally empty. Perhaps, three or four tables were full, which made for a great experience as the service was impeccable. Yes, it's difficult to navigate the menu if you do not speak the language, but we managed. After all, it is expected, and it would be arrogant of me to insist that they speak English when I can't utter a word of Chinese other than thank you, but I digress... Will I be back? FOOD: New Fusion is typically my go to for getting dimsum to-go! - My family and I used to come here so often, we were basically regulars since this restaurant opened so long ago. Now, we only really to-go their dimsum to eat at home, so be prepared for a long list of dishes ahead. - Mixed Puff with Pork ($5.88) is my favorite dimsum item, and New Fusion does a pretty good job with the chewy mochi and crispy exterior. There is a decent amount of pork inside, and the pieces aren't super fatty like some restaurants. But there have been some instances where they're not fried well or too oily. - The name is misleading because the Jumbo Shrimp Har-Gow ($5.88) is just normal sized, but it's quite tasty. The shrimp is plump, while the skin is soft and not overly thick. - Again with the exaggerated name, Jumbo Pork Siu-Mai ($5.88) is also just normal sized. For the longest time, I wouldn't eat siu-mai for some reason, but I really love it now. New Fusion's are well-seasoned and the meat is lean. They also aren't purposefully stuffed with fatty meat. - I honestly love the Egg Rolls ($5.88). We don't get them every time, but they're always so crispy and filled with vegetables and shrimp, a classic. - The Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll ($6.99) is another staple dimsum dish, and the sweet soy sauce that pairs with this is so delicious. Their rice roll is silky and not dense. - Both the Steamed BBQ Pork Bao ($5.88) and the Baked BBQ Pork Bun ($5.88) are delicious, but my preference is the Baked BBQ Pork Bun because I love the pillowy bun and glazed exterior. The pork is packed with flavor without being salty. You can't go wrong with either one. - Pan Fried Turnip Cake ($5.88) is another one of those dishes we don't get every time, but is delicious whenever we do. Some places make them too peppery, but I like how New Fusion's aren't. I highly recommend popping them in a toaster oven to make them even better. - Although I don't eat the Steamed Chicken Feet ($5.88), my family seems to love it. They order it every time, so I assume it must be good. - I'm disappointed about the Baked Pineapple Bun ($5.88) and Egg Yolk Bun ($5.88) because they used to be so good, but now completely lack in filling. Definitely not worth it, they're almost no custard inside. - Sesame Balls ($5.88) are one of my favorite dimsum sweets, and these are packed with sweet and creamy red bean. The white sesame seeds taste delicious with the crispy mochi. - Egg Custard ($5.88) is also a great dimsum dessert option. The creamy filling and flakey crust are super yummy, and I also recommend popping them in the toaster oven if you have any leftover. SERVICE/AMBIANCE: The staff has always been very friendly with my family because of how often we used to frequent New Fusion. There's a ton of seating at this restaurant, so you can look into this restaurant if you plan a large gathering. Over the years, the restaurant hasn't been as clean anymore, but it's probably just because it's getting older. OVERALL: I haven't had their normal menu dishes for years now, so my review on their food is based on their dimsum because I cannot gauge if the quality of the other foods have changed. This is our second time dining here and definitely our LAST. Overpriced, tiny portions and no service. What really pissed me off is how the staff hand writes the tip amount on your credit card receipt before handing it to you for a signature. Since when is there a mandatory tip amount for a party of 3?? When asked for an explanation, all of a sudden they don't speak English, ignore you totally then try to rush you into signing the credit card receipt. I'm specifically referring to the older Asian lady in the yellow shirt who worked last night. She tried giving me some lame ass excuse they are doing customers a favor by figuring out the tip amount for them. What a crock of $&@#!! I can't wait to come back! Came here for dim sum with a friend. I noticed the bad reviews due to customer service. Luckily, I had a friend who knew how to speak Chinese to the staff. The food was served hot and every dish we ordered tasted so good and fresh! The only negative things were the menu selection was limited and we were being served slower than usual because they don't have staff pushing around the carts. The price for each dish was decent. We were so involved in talk and eating, no time for pics. We met a little after 11 and when we all arrived we requested a table. We ordered and can confirm our previous visit NO LANGUAGE BARRIER, whatsoever. Perfect communication. They were very busy but still attended our every need when we asked for help and they did so quickly and efficiently. We spoke to several staff members: all polite, attentive and friendly From the main menu: chicken chow mein, 3 item bbq plate, tofu with brown sauce, spicy salt and pepper calamari, half the table got lemon iced tea - all delicious, hot, good quantity ( the drink was nice and cool) and good quality dishes we were very pleased From dim sum menu multiple shrimp and beef rice noodle, beef tripe, beef balls, him sui gok, 3 hat gow and 3 siu mai, chicken feet, shrimp&chive dumpling, chicken Bao, turnip cake. All the dishes were freshly made, hot and so tasty. We ordered some other separate items to go and had the most pleasant day with New Fusion and my best friends. We have come for lunch and dinner, which helps me feel like I have a rounded experience. Both times I came during a week day, so it wasn't really busy. Dim sum, their baos are legit. They have a purple yam one that I haven't seen on any other menu, and it's my favorite thing I've eaten in a long time. I also appreciate that they have the old school bolo bao with custard filling. Sui Mai and har gow was satisfying. I'd skip the char sui Cheng fun, but the shrimp one was solid. The meat quality here is tender and consistent, and just a few scopes rice layered with the rich dark sauce quickly become dangerously addicting! I've been to this restaurant a few times now and I haven't been particularly impressed with the food. The prices make me want to stay away a bit more and their customer service is the final straw. When I stopped by, the restaurant was about 50% occupied and there were about 4-5 employees on the floor. I stood by waiting at the front waiting to be shown where we'd be seated, but workers kept passing by without acknowledging us. After finally waving someone down, someone pointed into the dining room in which I assumed he asked us to proceed in. Standing in the middle, I'm confused on what to do and asked another employee. I just waved in the generally in the air. Finally, someone approached us and walked us to a table. But of course, now, we are waiting for someone to take our order with no immediate success. Everyone just looked so busy walking back and forth with nothing in their hands. We had the roast duck dish, which was decent. Nothing to rave about as the duck meat is basically missing. But they were very generous with the room temperature rice! Joking of course, it's sad to see when 75% of your dish is rice and it's not even hot. We also had the roast pork and that's the only thing that saved my visit at the restaurant. The skin was crispy. Of course, it was paired with room temperature rice. Yuck! I've had the opportunity to try both and both are very good! They also have chinese BBQ like roast duck and pork, etc. up front. Their portions are generous and prices are very reasonable in fact much lower that I've seen compared to others in the area. Their dim sum is very good, especially their ham sui gok or fried pork puffs. YUM! This is a casual type restaurant. It's good for small or large parties. The dining room is so spacious that I can socially distance from other diners. So I have been patronizing them 2 or 3 times a month since they opened for indoor dining. Previously, they only had takeout or outdoor tent dining. What would I recommend for anyone who craves Cantonese food? By all means order the Juicy roast duck and BBQ pork. The duck was so good that I ordered one cut up to give to friend and wife who are home-bound by pandemic. They raved it was so juicy and tender -- better than Sam Woo's which set the standard in the SGV. Their fish maw soup was also very good as was their stir fried fish fillet with seasonal vegetables. In the beginning, I was a Garden Cafe fan but as time went on, I feel this place have really come up to par. This is a great place if you are looking for a gathering where everyone wants to eat something different. I especially like their brunch hours because at the same time, you can order dim sum, western style breakfast, congee, bbq stuff (chashu, roast duck, chicken, etc) and typical Cantonese style plates. Because they have so much offerings, it is of course, not as good as places that specialized in certain areas, but slightly above average considering the amount of options that give. My personal favorite dish is the New Fusion German Style Pork Knuckle, which has tender meat and crispy skin. Dip either in the slightly sweet sauce and you have a delicious meal! We felt the tall boss man didn't care about us "the dine-in paying customer", perhaps we are Asian? We ordered 2 dishes and both dishes were good but we did not understand why the simple 2nd dish took over 15 minutes to be served following the 1st dish when there are hardly any other patriots dining and it came in a 'plastic' to go tub. The fine table had fine chinaware. The boosman didn't say anything but just toss the food onto our table and left. Didn't want to send it back to the kitchen otherwise we'll get the extra ingredient added. We questioned the bossman about the plastic tub but he just walked away. They season the tofu with salt, pepper, green onion, and chili! Perfect spice level, not to hot! 6) Crispy pork ($15/ 1 lbs) when we came in the noon time around 12:30pm, we saw a brand new pork hung! We knew we had to order it, and we definitely did not regret! They currently have promotion for to go orders. Soy sauce chicken or bbq pork rice is $3.99. Drinks are buy one get one free. The counter is at the front, which is convenient. Cash only. Tried bbq pork rice and it was okay. I'd like the pork to be sweeter. Also got 3 combo rice with roasted duck, soy sauce chicken and crispy roasted pork. Visiting from Ohio, and we ate here with my wife's aunt, who lives in Arcadia. We were very impressed by the attentive service (Jessica) who answered all our questions and by the amazing dishes. They were very flavorful and seasoned perfectly. We are only in town for a week, but we will eat here again before we leave. We had singapore noodles with shrimp (light heat as we asked), ma po tofu (sauce was mild and delicious), and soft noodle seafood chow mein (sauce was delicious and seafood done perfectly) We also enjoyed a pot of Jasmine tea. read more

So during COVID my parents wanted to try another place for dim sum instead of our usual go to place. They wanted to order from here and called ahead to ask what time they opened (we wanted to go as early as possible). They called and instead of ordering by phone they decided to go there and order at the place. When they came back, the packaging was nicer (they said) and it does taste a bit different but still good! One comment my parents made was the packaging was better at this place (not sure if it's because we ordered a bit less of the saucy items than usual?). We ordered: chicken feet, pork spare ribs, shrimp rice noodle, sui mai, and radish cakes. Enough the feed 5 of us. I forgot the desert they ordered, but they liked it too. I think it was very tasty.
