Just received a delivery and it's horrible. The bbq spare ribs that are so hard you can't even chew it. Half empty, literally, the box with the pungent shrimp. I was reminded of how good Mandarin Terrace is when I stopped by on the holiday. It's the best for miles around. Great service and your food comes out fast and hot. Yum. There's a large shared parking lot and banquet room. It's not fancy by any means and a lot of local families eat here. My favorites are the steamed dumplings or fried potstickers ($6.95), the wor wonton soup ($8.95) and the hot & soup (small $2.95/large $5.95). I also really enjoy the Sizzling Pan Fried Noodle Combo ($13.95), which comes prepared table-side on a hot platter and sizzles like crazy (see my video!) This tasty dish has shrimp, chicken, beef, scallops, and assorted vegetables all atop pan fried noodles that are crunchy at first, but get softer as they absorb the juices from the platter. Double yum. There's a huge menu and they do lots of take-out and delivery service within a 4.5 mile radius with a minimum $15 order and a $2 delivery fee. They have beer and wine and healthy low carb and vegetarian options. Their family dinner specials are a great deal at $11.95 for option A, $14.95 for option B and $16.95 for option C. There are also inexpensive lunch deals for $6.95 ($7.95 for seafood). I never seem to get to dessert, I'm way too stuffed from all the good food, but they do have lychees in syrup, green tea ice cream, fried bananas and a fried banana spring roll (Well, this part of their menu isn't diet food). Mandarin Terrace remains my go-to Chinese restaurant of choice, on Christmas Day or any other day when I'm in this part of the valley. read more

This use to be my to go to Chinese restaurant for many years. Today I had the opportunity to order takeout. I was eating the string bean chicken with blackbean sauce (when I had a bad experience). My food was very hot, but then I noticed that I was eating something very chewy. It felt like a hard piece of gelatin, that would not dissolve in my mouth. I then took out of my mouth and a piece of brown looking Jell-O came out. I then noticed that my food had clumps of brown gelatin all over it. I didn't understand how my food had this gelatin substance on it, when it was still very hot and I ordered a black bean sauce. Then I had their beef lo mein, which I felt was also very bland and it barely had any beef in it. The fried rice also did not have a lot of shrimp, but it was a lot better than eating chunks of brown gelatin. I am very disappointed with this is establishment. They used to have really good Chinese food and honestly I have no idea what the hell I was eating today. I also got sick afterwards and I would like my money back. But I didn't even have a chance to call them and complain, because I got very sick. read more

I grew up and recently lived in the SGV so my standards for Chinese food are pretty high! I was craving Won Ton Noodle Soup and did a search on Yelp. This place looked good so I placed an order for lunch - two won ton noodle soups and a salt and pepper shrimp appetizers. The lady on the phone put me on hold because she had a few other phone orders, so it sounds like they're doing okay despite this pandemic. I pulled into the parking lot and parked as there was plenty of spots. Two patrons were sitting waiting for there food. I pushed the bell so that the lady knew I was there. She came out with two bags of food and said she'd be right with me. Gave the first bag to the customers that had been waiting and asked what I ordered. I told her and also showed her my Yelp checkin for a free Thai Iced Tea. Food came out to about $37. Saw that there were lunch specials, which I might get in future. The salt and pepper shrimp was tasty but the Won Ton Noodle Soup was very Americanized as the noodles were spaghetti noodles not egg noodles. It was a bit bland but had big won tons and veggies. This is one of the best restaurants we know of. Not only is the food fantastic, but the owners and staff are amazing people. They are very kind and considerate, and very willing to accommodate large groups, or an occasional special request, etc. We've had several larger groups events catered by them as well and they are terrific to work with about these. And let me mention again how good the food is! They have a big menu and we've never had a dish that didn't look and taste great. Food is great, we come here maybe once a week. We are usually greeted by the host who usually is also the waitress. She's a Hispanic woman. Last Sunday there was a male employee who happened to be our server. He charged us a 18% gratuity- which has NEVER happened before. Our bill went up from 45$ of food to 60$. We only ordered 2 plates and a side soup. We always tip, we always enjoy our time here but it seemed weird to automatically add an 18% gratuity to our bill, this is the first time this has happened and when he confronted him, he says it's a standard policy... again- which is not because we come here so often. read more
