When we got there around 11, we were seated right away. The waitress asked what we wanted to drink, then we were all set to get our food. There is a little bar are the left side where theres 3 meat options (beef, chicken, and pork), veggies, and sauces. After filling up the bowls with whatever you like, they cook it with water on the Mongolian grill. The ambiance is very welcoming and nice. it's probably why we decided to check it out. A very asian inspired restaurant with a modern twist. The place wasn't too packed on a Thursday night and we were hungry...Thus the All You Can Eat choice we made and for $9.99... why not, right? We were directed to our table, and we made our way to fix us some Mongolian treat. I wasn't impressed at all. The line-up of ingredients was very very MESSY. I was very disappointed they didn't have shrimp or crab (imitation crab) like other places do. There weren't too many condiments too. I didn't see jalapenos. Another thing that was horrible were the sauces!!! They were all seriously watered down!! You literally have to put soo much just for the flavor to come out. The first one that Chis made (which was the only one)...was tasteless. And mine, had only little flavor considering how much sauce i already put in my bowl. I had to literally squirt a lot of sriracha to it for some flavor - The Sriracha flavor. I took another trip, and this time just fixed myself a bowl of just Beef, Chicken and Tofu with some veggies and poured it with maybe 10 scoops of teriyaki, 5 scoops of bbq, 5 scoops of garlic, spicy oil... and ATE this fix with Rice. (oh. and some sriracha too).. I knew the drill so this time, it was better. TIP: the noodles fill you up quickly.. so i know it can be very exciting to fix up and make your own recipe for your noodles, BUT don't get too excited. Don't put too much noodles. Because there's so little chance that you'd be able to make the all-you can eat thing worth it. Oh. Not that it's something spectacular, but they have a soft served ice cream machine. Love at first bite! All you can eat Mongolian noodles, ice cream & egg rolls! Came here for the first time today & at first it was a bit confusing because when you walk in, you're just being seated & water is brought to you without anyone saying a word. Usually when you enter a place they would ask if you've ever been there before & would tell you how it worked, but nope! I just saw people moving along the "buffet like" line & stacking two bowls with meat & noodles. Great selection of meat (chicken, beef, pork and/or lamb), it's all frozen till cooked. I love their fat yellow noodles, guy cooking was actually really nice. Awesome all you can eat soft served vanilla ice cream comes. What I found intriguing here was that it was a buffet! I thought this was just a standard sit-down restaurant. Apparently, it was good according to someone that mentioned this place. The atmosphere of this place was very casual. There was a line that extends to have cooks stir-fry your food. Before they stir-fry them, you get a couple of bowls which you fill with your choice of meat, vegetables, and sauce. What's cool is that they have an ice cream machine here too which I approve. It tasted similar to McDonald's, but it was creamier. Although the food was filling and satisfactory, there wasn't anything special from this place. I expected what I expect from a restaurant. Really good value! All you can Mongolian BBQ for like $8. Even a single serving costs more at the Mongolian BBQ at the mall. At least here, you can go back a couple of times as opposed to trying to load as much food as you can into 1 single bowl. I have heard that this is an art and there is a class available at UC Santa Clara on how to stuff $16 worth of food into a $8 bowl. Yum! I've been to New Mongolian BBQ twice now, and I would recommend it to anyone in the Mountain View area. The restaurant seems to be a hidden gem, because it's never too crowded in there. You walk in, and someone will greet you and direct you to the table and offer to get you drinks. From there, you go over to the buffet and pick out the amount of noodles and all the veggies and meats you want. They have chicken, beef, pork, and lamb. I highly recommend the lamb - delicious! Their vegetables are all great, too. They have carrots, baby corn, mushrooms, bell peppers, and some more. I do hope they get more vegetables in the future and have a bigger buffet. Finally, the best part is all the sauces they have to add to your food, and they have their own specials combinations to recommend. I love the garlic sauce and curry sauce, and their house special is a must-try. From there, you set your plate down for the cook to mix together. The waiter pointed us to the food bar along the left wall where you help yourself to as much food as you want (don't waste food though). It's a decent selection! They have chicken, pork, and beef, broccoli, baby corn, spinach, noodles, etc. All this stuff is raw for the most part, since they cook your food when you get to the end of the station. Don't forget to add sauces to your food! They have quite a few to choose from, and you can mix and match to get the flavors that you want. They have a couple of sauce combinations listed on the wall that you can follow if you don't know what to get. So the food isn't amazing or anything, but it's good! New Mongolian BBQ isn't bad, though it's a rare case where I like the chain (BD's) better than the independent, mainly because BD's has bigger establishments, swankier decor, and more variety on the menu -- and that goes for food, seasonings and drinks. Anyway, New Mongolian has good food, but a very short beer list (4, fortunately including one that I would actually swallow). The place feels a little cafeteriaish (oh go away, spell checker), and has less variety than I'm used to on the buffet assembly line. Also, nurse that beer through your meal baby, or order two, because they aren't very eager to come around & see if you want another one. I've been here twice and both times i've been more than satisfied with the quantity and quality of my meal. For under $9-10 dollars for lunch/dinner take out, you get a huge portion (depending on how well you stack your bowl) of awesome mongolian style noodles. For to go orders, pro tip: Let the cashier know that you are a to-go order so that they can prepare your take out box (scoop of rice + 2 egg rolls). Get in line, grab a bowl and start packing! I generally like mixing lamb and beef, followed by a heaping mound of noodles, topped with a lot of onions, cilantro, and green onion. As for sauces,, this most recent time around, I was able to choose the sauces and the amount of each one I wanted; The first time I came, a lady asked me which sauces I wanted and I couldn't control exactly how I wanted it to taste. I went with a generous amount of house specialty sauce, loaded er' up with the garlic sauce, and put just a bit of the chili oil. When it was all ready to go, I topped it off with a drizzle of sesame oil. Delish! As I said, the take out orders come with a big scoop of rice and two egg rolls, which is definitely a great deal. I will say that sometimes, it's pretty packed and the line to make your bowl is pretty long. In general I wish they had more variety of add-ons and condiments. If you choose to dine in, it is AYCE, and I believe they have a soft serve machine too. Additionally, an added bonus is that they accept card! It was quite an adventure since it was our first time in the establishment as well as eating Magnolian style bbq. ***its all you can eat!!!*** so if you come with plenty of time (and appetite )you can try doing different combinations in small portions. Just saying... The spring egg rolls alone are so addicting! They are crunchy perfection! And to end your meal you can enjoy their delicious creamy soft serve. 3.5 stars. The quality here is fairly good. However, the service here isn't good. Fortunately, this is a buffet style place so it won't matter that much. I got the chow mein noodles with the pork, beef, and chicken. For the noodles, I did 2 scoops of teriyaki sauce and 2 scoops of soy sauce for the meat. The noodles were actually pretty chewy, and fairly fresh. The 2 scoops for the meat weren't enough though because the meat didn't absorb the flavor as well as the noodles. The meat was decent quality, but slightly freezer burned. Tip: get a little bit extra servings because when they scoop the food off of the grill most of it falls off. To finish things off I got the soft serve ice cream. The ice cream was ice cream - nothing special. Not the best food, or the worst. Nonetheless, this place is convenient and fairly quick. read more

The food was okay, not anything different than what a food court in the mall can offer. The meats were not of great quality, especially the beef. The egg rolls (the only appetizer) was super crunchy but only filled with vegetables. They do have soft serve as a dessert. The nice thing was that they bring soup and rice for your meal. Came by with a group on a Saturday night around 6 and we were seated promptly as there were barely any customers there. We got up to get our first round and the food station was presented nicely. You get your choice of meats, starch, veggies, and sauce, put it all into a little bowl and give it to the chefs to fry up for you. As soon as we sat down with our hot food, a ton of customers came and soon the place was packed. The line for food went all the way to the back where the bathrooms were which was kind of... unsanitary imo? And then the food stations got hella messy, food bits everywhere, people picking out the hard bits of the meat and leaving it on the counter, noodles on the ground... gross. When you finally got to the chefs, since they were in a rush due to the big crowd, they tend to cook/move faster resulting in food bits from other peoples meal flying into my meal. I don't like pineapples in my food but i still ended up with some in my food anyways because it got tossed from some other persons meal. It was my first time eating here with my family. We'd walked around thirty minutes trying to decide where to eat. I had a migraine. We were hot, tired a & hungry. The older female host asked if we wanted to eat outside or inside. We chose inside. I didn't know how it worked. We chose to get the all-you-can-eat (big mistake) for $18. I wore my required mask, sanitized my hands, & put on the plastic gloves provided. A mask is required at the food station. However, besides the mask, I didn't see most customers following suit with the sanitary precautions. The signs said "1 bowl per person." It's impossible to get all of your desired ingredients in one small bowl. I voiced my concerns aloud & a lady in line said I can get two bowls. Their noodles are really thick and too long. So, it made it harder to grab and put in the bowl. After I'd gotten my FIRST plate of food cooked, I sat down. I didn't know they had rice. I got a small portion, but it wasn't cooked completely. I didn't like that the cook "added water" to my dish. It took away from the flavor of the sauces I chose. It made my beef and lamb tough. I was disappointed that they had no shrimp as an option. Everything was going well up until that point, even with my dislikes. My daughter had two medium plates and was full. She grabbed what she thought were to-go boxes over by the cook. The older female host walked over and abrasively asked where she'd got the box from? My daughter replied. The host explained that they weren't for that purpose and that she had doggy bags by the register. We apologized and my daughter said that she didn't know. I got up later to get a SECOND plate. I wanted more veggies and sauces. As it was being cooked, the host was at the table asking my family was I finished with my plate? I overheard her and said NO I wasn't. She was like a vulture!! Now, I'm getting more annoyed! I also told the cook not to put water on my food this time. He politely said I had to add more sauce. I did and the food tasted better. I sat down & added the new portion to my "unfinished plate." I ate a few helpings until I was full. I walked over to this host and asked for a doggy bag. I see that it's the (large) boxes that you put Chinese food in. She preceded to ask if I had one plate or two? All the time knowing she was watching me fix a SECOND plate of my $18 meal. I said I had two plates because it's all you can eat! She tells me that this is a buffet and I can't take my food to go if I didn't finish it. Are you kidding me ]my food, waste my money & food! She said that she will let me do it this time. I said, "I'm not coming back the next time!" The cook was nice, but he wasn't wearing a mask or gloves. I saw him wash or sanitize his hands. His thumb went inside my bowl as he grabbed it. I overlooked it because I had a headache & was hungry. Plus I know the heat will kill the germs. I saw him handling his phone as well. It kind of defeats the purpose of customers & other staff having to wear masks around the food doesn't it? I was turned off at this point. The food items are uncovered leaving them vulnerable. A younger female employee dumped fresh meat on top of what had been sitting out. The bottom of the bowl touched the meat! There were limited prongs for each bin of food choices. Everyone is touching & re-using the same prongs for different items! I accidentally dropped some of my raw meat into the other bins while I filled my small bowl. Cross-contamination & Covid are still real!! Once I finished eating I got a small ice cream cone because I'm lactose intolerant. She watched me go get two more. She came over scolding me on how to hold the handle! I told her I was doing it that way already. It was the best thing I ate there. My sister's two younger daughters only wanted ice cream & didn't eat any food. She had the gall to charge them for the ridiculously small cones. We were very disappointed & dissatisfied with the food/experience! My sister paid for it, She felt bad for suggesting this place. I told her not to tip, but she did because we are nice people. My husband didn't like the sauces too much. They need to work on better sauces. In a mongolian bbq place, you have to provide sauces or guidelines so that people can't make a bad plate. We do like the fact that they had fried tofu. For $10 and all you can eat, we thought it was okay. We were thinking that we may come back for convenience and a quick meal near our home. We went again with a bigger group, and they charged us 18% service for more than 6 people. We were outraged. Normally in a all-you-can-eat place, tips should be more like 10% since service is minimal except bringing drinks and taking away dishes. Besides, they didn't even fill up water for us. They just brought a big jar of water for us to serve ourselves. We decided that we may not come back there again, especially with a big group. Ummm...this place is FANTASTIC for the price. This is why it deserves 5 stars. Most Mongolian BBQ places I go to serve "all-you-can-eat" for one bowl for a price equivalent to this or more sometimes! So I think this place is awesome, plus you get some free ice cream too! There's a lot of options and so much meat! I don't expect this place to be high quality, but like I said...it's well worth the price, The meat definitely isn't bad and the place does not look sketchy either. They also give you a bowl of soup and some rice too (I did not touch the rice, I want my Mongolian BBQ!). There's only two guys cooking the food, and there was a huge group that came in (like 30 people...) so it took awhile to get food, and so I got full faster but I was still able to make the most of my money! I wish we came a little earlier to avoid the huge group though. :( I would suggest not to come when it's super busy, or you'll be full!
