Lovely coffee shop with so much seating. The gf carrot cake was the perfect treat to start the day, I loved the amount of frosting on here and that it had both carrot and coconut. The matcha was quite possibly the worst matcha I have ever had. And I think it's diabolical to charge people $1.25 for alternative milk options. Very cool coffee shop in Nederland! It was the perfect stop before a nearby hike, to fuel up on coffee and goodies. I ordered a frappe (no flavor/sweetener) for my drink - sounded like a great option given the hot morning. It hit the spot! For a treat I opted for the heavenly bar - it was rich, delicious, and a perfect pre-hike snack for me (saved some for post hike also ;)). On a Tuesday late morning it wasn't too busy. I enjoyed the outside patio seating. I do want to try out the food on a future visit and will reserve a star for rhat. We were happy to find this little coffee in shop on our road trip. I ordered a peppermint mocha iced latte. My drink was delicious! Odd note was even others waiting for drinks before me received drinks not filled to the top, mine was no different. So that was a little disappointing. Very cute cafe and bakery. Me and The Hubs had lunch here while doing the leaf-peeping drive through the area about a month and a half ago. This is a small place with very limited seating inside, but a decent amount outside (plan accordingly - weatherwise!). It was a nice day so we were able to sit outside with our lunch. We both ordered the Wild Turkey sandwich (turkey, pesto, Swiss, tomato, spinach). It was really good and filling. The pastry case was almost empty when we were there, but considering the crowd that was in town (mid-week!), I'm surprised that anything was left! This cool bakery was located right in the center of town. Lots of parking up front. Staff was all very friendly when taking our order. Nice outside seating as well to enjoy when the weather allows it. I got the egg and cheese bagel on an everything bagel and my wife got the egg burrito. We also got some monkey bread. The egg and cheese bagel was good, fresh and I loved the crispness after it was toasted. My wife said she enjoyed the burrito, it was a pretty big portion. The monkey bread was the real winner though. It was amazing, lots of flavor with the nuts, raisins and icing. It melted in your mouth and was so soft. Decent portions too. I knocked a star off because the tip screen showed 25% as a minimum, then 30%, 35% and 40%. I entered my own and gave them 20% but cmon guys, the tip scene is getting out of hand. I'm happy to support local businesses and it's staff but why is 40% even an option? For ringing up my order and handing me my bagel? (Which I had to get up from my outside seating to get it) The least you could have done is brought it outside to me for throwing a 20% tip. The sandwich was good but skip the matcha. I don't drink coffee anymore but enjoy a nice matcha latte. This was 90% milk and no matcha. You can see from the photo the color of the matcha. I saw that they had a container of matcha powder and was excited but I could barely taste the matcha if any. I also don't like being forced to order only one size of an iced matcha latte for this very reason - because to make it a larger size it has to by default contain way more milk than I would like. I only drank a few sips and sadly had to chuck the whole thing in the trash. If you're going to serve matcha lattes at least offer another size? Otherwise it would just be a flavored milk. No other options around this area so take this for what it is. read more

WOW! This was quite possibly the coziest cafe I've been to in awhile. The inside has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere with folks reading, journaling, and gently conversing. The outside has numerous seating options and a beautiful view of town. The organization itself is very local - immense support for the local newspaper, community events, and cafe's staff. Their menu is quite eclectic with an almost Euro-style of coffee prep for traditional drinks (e.g. the macchiato). I had an iced sugar-free vanilla latte and a breakfast bagel - both were exquisite and hit the spot! Very filling and flavorful. Next time I'm in the area for a hike or yoga event, I'll be sure to stop in! read more

We took ours to go but a number of people were dining in and it seems like a great atmosphere. I'm a sucker for bakeries so during our impromptu stop is Nederland, we had to try this bakery. It did not disappoint. A cute shop that had local art hanging all around. It gave mountain, bake shop vibes- which is exactly what it was haha. My husband got the coconut macaroons and I got the hiker cookie (orange, cranberry cookie). Everything was gluten free which did matter to us but still nice. They were the perfect sweet treats. The macarons were big and had a great coconut flavour. They were firm but not dry and my husband said he would have ordered 100 of them if he could have. The cookie was also great. I was worried it was going to be dry and crunchy because of the GF flour but it was not. It was soft and just the right about of sweet. The cookie was also quite large. Great treats after our lunch! The ham and cheddar croissants were a bit better value ($3.95 each), but they were more like Pillsbury crescent rolls than true croissants. "You just opened the wrap", yes I did to see why it wasn't completely wrapped and half open when you give to the customer. And the order before mine, they dropped her sandwich on the floor because she Ddnt put on counter completely, and because wrapper was half open, they sandwich fell out. With tip - the options to choose with a card are 25%, 30%, 35% or put in custom - a croissant is close to $9.00-$10.00. I know flour prices have gone up...but with the higher priced croissant plus the options starting at 25% for tip, it just felt off. I'm probably more price conscious than some.
