    fried turnip ball
    Jamie S.

I stopped at New Super Snack intending to pick up a bottle of water but I stayed when I saw trays of fried barely identifiable goodies. I went with the fried turnip (or it may have been taro) veggie ball things- 2 of them cost 75 cents. I loved the flavor and they were small enough that I didn't feel guilty about the fried factor.

Nice on-the-go kind of place for food. I've had their dumplings before and really enjoyed it. A lot of fried food! Full of oil but nonetheless very satisfying.

There are plenty of stalls nearby selling similar food as for nearly less with better quality food and more pleasant people in Flushing then purchasing from this place. I been here a few times since it was convenient near a few bus stops I take. This not particularly busy place as other stalls nearby, but If you like fried chicken legs that taste hard as a rock as though they have been fried a day or so ago then is the place to be! I came back and brought the evidence of the attempted eaten leg after it nearly broke my jaw and told one of the staff ladies what had happened. In hopes of either $1.00 back or at least another leg and was rudely responded back: "You eat, You eat!". This hasn't been the first time of having bad food with this place either. On a previous visit I bought a chicken on a stick that was so tough and dry that it was obvious that was not cooked that day. Plus on top of it a splinter was sticking right out of it! There is also a question about this place trying to "upsell". My first experience was purchasing a small milk tea and was given a medium size drink cup. I asked the lady behind the counter if they didn't sell small size cup she responded back saying: " No, only this size, only this size!!" I gave what would be the appropriate amount and was screamed at: "More money, more money!!" When I got on my bus drinking this large drink I realized she given me a bubble tea drink. At the time I thought it was a just degree of miscommunication on the order. So the next time I came in I made sure I was incredibly clear of my order. When I gave a staff member a small tea/coffee cup from a stack of empty cups near the counter that I like this size milk tea I noticed the lady I dealt with last time looked at me - that instance I realized what had happened was I had been had! But don't take my word it - if you like to waste your hard earned $$ on this place with horribly cooked food, rude staff as well as possiblity placing your health in jeopardy (I didn't feel that well eating that chicken leg coming home) then this is the place. This will definitely give you the experience!

The food is tasty and cheap! If you are looking for somewhere that is cheap and eat full, this is the place you can come to.

And this Asian fusion spot stands up among others in Queens Blvd. First it was super cute since. Big leather booths, with dim lighting. The menu went on for day and was pretty intimidating. They had katsu and curry which I almost went for but the spicy coconut noodles were calling my name. I am getting ahead of myself. That was the main event. Before that we had rock shrimp, which were HUGE. The spicy mayo made my nose run. I wasn't made about it. The star of the night was the dinosaur egg appetizer. Spicy tuna and salmon hugged by avocado and surrounded by shaved carrot. This literary was the best of the night. We got the Pacific roll, and although good it did not live up to our massive dinosaur egg that exceeded our expectations. Shout out to the servers for not rushing us out. Also the bathroom was solid! Clean, two gender neutral bathrooms that were both surprisingly nice sizes. All in all, a surprisingly good find! Would definitely come back!

Look out Katz's! I was looking for it up on the menu board, but all I saw was pastrami baos & pastrami rice box. I asked if it was still available and my man hooked me up by popping 2 thick slices of whole grain bread into the toaster and started to hand carve a big hunk of pastrami. I thought I was getting about half of what he pulled out, but he proceeded to pile it all on the bread after squirting on a slew of grainy deli mustard. He apologized for running out of pickles, but all I could think was "Take my money and gimme my sammich!" Even as I cradled the closed plastic container, the smell of hot pastrami permeated my whole bus ride home and I couldn't wait to dig into that salty, peppery crusted, fall apart tender meat sandwich. I'm sure the other people on the bus were jealous. Next time I might even try out some of the other rice & noodle dishes, but that smoky pastrami smell still lingers on in my mind.

The walnut shrimp had jumbo shrimp and was perfectly sweet and crunchy. The fish fillet in chili oil had the perfect amount of spicy, which was so warming for the cold weather.
