    Orange chicken lunch special
    Sandy R.

My sister and I went in for lunch. I ordered combination Chow fun and my sister ordered a lunch special of Orange chicken, Chow mein, Fried rice and an oil soaked spring roll. The food was not edible. Old grease and too much of it, no taste in the Chow fun, only oil flavor. The Orange chicken was 90% batter. I won't even go into the rice and Chow mein, it was just as bad. Years ago it was good. Now I would give it a negative thousand stars. So bad! Also, $17 for the Chow fun and $19 for the lunch special - $3 extra to substitute the protein.

The Orange chicken on the menu wasn't the  Orange chicken given to me with my ordet..Simply a breast fried with the skin on. Nasty

This is the worst Chinese food ever made. I had ordered kung Po shrimp, orange chicken and beef fried rice. The orange chicken wasn't coated like advertised on the photo inside the menu. The chicken was a breast that was cut into pieces with the skin left on it. The rice was made with old grease, leaving a very dark brown stain on the paper plate. The kung Po was the worst the worst I ever tasted. The deep fried prawns was very good and cooked to perfection. The place only takes cash when ordering and now I understand why they don't take credit cards. Because if they did. Folks would call there credit card company and cancel there card. Because the food was simply trash and is only worth given to the "Crows". My wife and I decided to write a review on the waste of $59 dollars spent on tonight's Dinner. It lks like McDonald's will be our alternative for the night.

This place comes highly recommended by my cousin so I had to give a try after hearing all the rave for their lunch special. Definitely did not disappoint. Their lunch special which only costs $9 comes with barbecue pork fried rice, fried shrimp, chow mein and barbecue pork. I also really liked the fried shrimp that came with it, the batter was light and crispy. I liked how the food didn't feel greasy and wasn't salty at all. Solid place for lunch and I really enjoyed the fried rice. The barbecue pork is really tasty, not too salty. This chinese takeout is much better than Panda Express, and you get way more food. I couldn't even finish the lunch special - they give huge portions. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a quick and affordable lunch eat. I also would recommend getting take out because the inside isn't really set up for dine-in. Only thing was that they slightly skimped me on the barbecue pork (but thats okay, still a lot of food so can't complain). Also, the parking can be difficult because they are located in a small plaza with limited spaces. This place is also CASH ONLY, so be prepared.

Sorry I ate it before I took the picture... its all gone so that should mean something ‍

The food is good, I only order dinner for five. If you substitute it cost, which is okay. The family dinner comes with fried prawns, rice, noodles, chicken, pork, bbq pork. I order sides of pot stickers these are deep fried. The lady is nice, this is family owned. It is pricey, but well worth the mullahh ($). You will be full and you will sleep well. Another place I usually order togo but when I was working downtown this is a hole in the wall you CAN eat at. I suggest you order your food to go and walk to a park or eat in your car.

It seemed like there was only one worker attending the tables so sometimes we waited a bit for him to come out to request for something but he was still very efficient. Items ordered: - Combo D Shaxian noodles with peanut sauce and Shaxian wonton soup: The wonton soup was simple but amazing. Definitely a soup you would want to eat on a cold or sick day. The noodles were covered in peanut sauce and also a simple dish, but we waited too long to mix the noodles and eat them so the noodles ended up sticking together. However, the worker was kind enough to bring us a new dish and advised us to mix immediately while the noodles were still hot. - Shaxian steamed pork dumplings: I liked how the dumplings were leaf shaped and filled with pork and cabbage. Solid dumplings overall and I would get again. - Boiled fish fillets with lemon pickled cabbage: A little spicy but great flavor overall and sour from the lemon pickled cabbage. Comes with a lot of fish and glass noodles.

Yikes! Did I go to the same restaurant as these 5 and 4-star reviews?!…read more We arrived mid-day on a Saturday. A few others were at tables but it was a mostly empty restaurant. There were a few staff running around keeping the front of the house so it wasn't a matter of work force but it took almost an hour to get steamed broccoli as the first of our order to come out. Not sautéed or cooked with finesse. While we were waiting for any food to come out, a couple of tables were seated after us but served their whole order while we waited for a dish to arrive at ours. Then came beef pan fried dumplings which were burnt on the bottom after waiting almost an hour for anything to come. We got a couple more dishes before we finally called it and just got the check. Flavors were bland, nothing stood out as delicious in flavor, texture, or overall bite. Even the vinegar used for soup dumplings wasn't the right type of vinegar. Service was slow, the food was subpar especially for the time it took to get anything on the table. Total waste of time, energy, and opportunity. Never again. The whole vibe felt like a quick service fast food experience rather than what we hoped to get out of it. Not for me clearly.

Recently I stopped to pick-up dinner with the plan to have leftovers. I called my order in and was quoted 40 minutes for my order to be ready. My order consisted of salted fish and chicken fried rice (this location has the best around SF and the peninsula), bitter melon beef, chicken chow mein, Thai style fried vermicelli (my favorite dish here), salt and pepper chicken wings. We also received a complimentary bbq pork fried rice. Everything was fantastic and we had plenty of leftovers for a few days.

Big won ton filled w pork and shrimp. Bok choy Broth not much flavor, in a separate container since this was a take-home order. Curry Beef Stew I've never had Curry beef stew before, prefer chicken, curry, but for some odd reason, I decided to order this dish. It was underwhelming and I won't order it again. The Curry sauce itself was OK but the big long pieces of beef were somewhat gross, lots of fat. They added plenty of slices to onions and a few pieces of green pepper and Julienned carrots, but that's about it for being called a stew. So I learned my lesson by not sticking to my usual order, and won't order wonton soup or curry beef stew again.

Forgive me PING'S, but I only recently discovered this really terrific restaurants w/a cuisine from a region called Yunnan I had not discovered before. We got a "funghi" (mushroom) dish that the region is known for and it was amazing. The braised pork belly was really well cooked that was tender but not over done. The lastly got a veggie dish called "chayote leaves" that again, I had not even heard of, we decided to try even though the price seemed a bit expensive; it was absolutely one of my new favorite vegetable dishes and hard to describe. They do put alot of red peppers in many of the dishes so if you don't like spicy, it may not be for you. We saw other tables order frog legs and a fish dish looked quite good too, so this is very local Chinese. Lastly, this restaurant was quite busy on a Friday night with long lines and now we know why. Even though they were very busy, the services even more so for a Chinese restaurant was really good and they checked up on us many times. Ping's will be part of our regular rotation of mid-Pen restaurants now going forward. Highly recommend.
