This practice has completely changed. I would never go here again and I wish I had stopped going many years ago. In more recent times I experienced Dr. Low being distracted and constantly running out of the room while I was in the chair. On my last cleaning here I waited nearly 20 minutes for her to come in to check my teeth after the hygienist was done. I actually stepped out of the room and asked them to get Dr. Low to come and look because I couldn't wait any longer. Her look was extremely fast and with her naked eye. I pointed out where I thought there was an issue to her to which she said everything was "fine". That was 7 months before what came next and involved the very issue I had asked her about. I've now been suffering for 2 years due to work done by Dr. Low that should never have been needed in the first place. The test of your dentist is when you need actual work. She says she's conservative but there was a tooth she filled years ago that she was concerned about at the time, that it could be an issue again. (Which I've only recently learned that she should have sent me to an endodontist then and there.) And when I thought the tooth was an issue again a few years later, she dismissed it. An X-ray later - she still thought there was a start of something but nothing worth opening the tooth up for. Every dentist (about 5 of them now) who has seen that X-ray has asked why Dr. Low didn't do a root canal then and there. Instead, 6 weeks later I had a full blown mouth infection with puss in my gums. Dr. Low put a mini-implant in where the tooth had been without even telling me what she was planning to do. And it was done without precision, tools, or anything of the sort - it was shoved in my mouth all in one shot. It has been uncomfortable and a problem ever since. I've seen many specialists in trying to figure out how to correct the situation. Every single one of them has looked at me with horror saying they've never seen a mini-implant used to replace a single tooth and that it's like a toothpick with a bowling ball on the end. I would recommend to anyone be sure to get a full explanation of the work that they plan to do here BEFORE that work begins, don't just let them get started, and I would highly suggest getting a second opinion when this practice recommends a mini-implant if you do not have dentures. (The mini-implant was done before they started advertising full blown that they are mini-implant center.) I thought I was going to have a proper consult about what would be done and that all of the right options would be considered. That did not happen. I'm regretful that my original glowing review of this practice has likely led plenty of people here and that I sent people I personally know here. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! After reading all the wonderful reviews, I decided to call Dr. Low's office for a consultation for mini-implants. Everyone in the office was pleasant and nice so I knew this would be a good fit for me. After the implants, I was suppose to get customized temporary teeth until I healed and then in 2-3 months get a permanent set. That was the plan. However, what I got for temporaries was a generic set of teeth that Dr. Low took out a large ziplock bag that contained about 10 other random pre-made dentures (not too sanitary). She put puddy on them and that was that. They were extremely big for my mouth, they were uncomfortable, the roof went so far back that it made me gag and the gum of the teeth had sharp edges that were digging into my real gums. I could not eat, speak properly and was in pain so I had to remove them. After repeatedly complaining, she finally took impressions for a customized set of temporaries. I was so happy after 2 months with no teeth, however, I was quickly disappointed again as those too were extremely big, they looked like "horse" teeth. I could not understand why I could not just get normal-sized teeth. I am currently going on over 5 months with no teeth. Not once did she ever reach out to me especially knowing I was going through a hard time. I finally wrote her a letter to please consider providing me a refund since now I needed to go somewhere else (I lost all confidence by this point) and now I had to spend "thousands" more to start this process from the beginning again. She completely ignored me, her patient, but she DID call the finance company (who I cc'd on the letter) to prove to them she did the work but not once did she call me, the patient. So now I am stuck with a $18,000 loan for the next 10 years and I still have no teeth. She charges $18,000 for the acrylic ones and $28,000 and $36,000 for the other ones they try to sell you during the consultation. I seriously thought she would have done the right thing to show some degree of compassion but nothing at all. All she cares about is the money. All I wanted was teeth I could wear comfortably. I also found out she lied to the finance company and told them she gave me the permanent teeth. So on top of being greedy, she is a liar. If either Dr. Low or Fabby is reading this, you know what you are doing is so wrong, you never gave me any permanent teeth. So disappointed in you both. For everyone else, don't let all the smiles and giggles fool you. Stay away!! read more

I am usually not a fan of any dentist but Mrs. Low is THE BOMB! LOL Mrs. Low is smart, funny, caring, gentle and overall a nice person. She helped me out when I needed work done prior to getting my braces on and was very helpful and was able to meet my deadline for the work to be done. read more

Dr. Low couldn't possibly be nicer, kinder, more professional or more gentle, she explains every step of the process and is incredibly patient and sensitive to any discomfort. Let me tell you people, I have had nightmare dentist after nightmare dentist. Long story short, this back-to-back series of sub-par dentistry ended in me having to get a root canal, a tooth extraction and subsequently a dental implant due to something that could have been a very easy fix a few years ago. You can imagine that having to get all of this painful and extremely expensive work done (which could have been avoided) has been pretty traumatic, especially as I'm only in my early 20's. Through this, Dr. Low has been an absolute godsend. I found her at the end of last year through my insurance website and after reading the reviews, I decided to give her a shot. I am SO glad I did. Melissa (who, sadly, just left) is the most knowledgeable dental office employee I have ever encountered. The woman knows her way around insurance companies up, back, down and around. Friendly, funny and explains everything extremely thoroughly. She will be greatly missed but I'm confident her replacement will be wonderful. Dr. Low herself is fantastic - very professional, kind and understanding. She has been very patient with me throughout the procedures (including not laughing me out of her office when I came back three times after the first part of the implant procedure because I was paranoid that something was wrong... (nothing was wrong)). The office staff always makes me feel comfortable and takes great care of me. My cleaning was great, and the first part of my implant procedure was much less scary/painful than I had anticipated. I cannot recommend this office highly enough - so happy I found Dr. Low and am finally putting my dental nightmares behind me!!! Also, in regards to the negative review below, I have to disagree. This place is VERY well kept. Clean and comfy every single time I've been (which is a LOT with the amount of work I've had to get done...). Dr. Low is a wonderful dentist and a fantastic orthodontist. I have had nunerous dentists over the years and Dr. Low is now my FOREVER dentist. I decided to get braces and was concerned as I was 46 at the time. Dr Low, suggested neuromuscular, so I would not have any teeth extracted. It may take longer, but the results are stellar. I wore braces for 6 years and I never minded having them. Dr. Low was still my primary dentist, as well as my orthodontist. Her cleanings are thorough and her dental work is gentle, as well as thorough. She is professional, kind, so smart and fun. I highly recommend her and sometimes wish she was my doctor for everything. TMJ suffers, especially, please take note: When I first came to see Dr. Sandra Low, I was at the end of my rope, having suffered with TMJ for 20+ years. (Other, well-respected doctors said my bite was fine, beautiful. But I was in tremendous pain! Most answered: "It's stress." Well, it wasn't stress....) Within seconds (seconds!) of being examined by Dr. Low, she noted my bite was "off," that my teeth didn't align properly and that my jaw was being jammed back. And that accurately described the pain I was experiencing. In short, she made me an appliance (one of those clear, hard "plastic" ones) to wear on my lower jaw, that was designed to my proper bite. Just this appliance alone brought me tremendous pain-relief, and it was the first time I experienced having a correct bite in my adult life. After a while of wearing the appliance, I am now wearing top and bottom palate expanders, as my palates are too narrow and need to be widened. This, too, has brought me added pain-relief and is slowly allowing my proper bite to emerge. Dr. Low has the superior knowledge, intelligence, and insight to help patients with "unusual" cases like mine (though, really, our cases aren't so unusual, it's just that other doctors don't have the full, diverse, inter-disciplinary knowledge to treat us). She has a great dental practice, and is thoughtful, caring, patient, and great with explaining things. read more

Just saw a colleague with several new restorations from Dr Low and they looked spectacular.

I had been going to the same dentist while living in Connecticut for 35 years, and felt he was doing a good job. Ten years ago I moved to Manhattan and was recommended to visit Dr. Low for a decay problem I was experiencing. My former dentist did not have the skill set of Dr. Low! I have been going to her office now for over 10 years (relocated to 115 East 61st. Street / between Lex & Park) I have had a lot of problems over the years with my teeth; multiple root canals, crowns, implants etc. Over the years, she has corrected the mistakes that were previously made by another dentist, to where I have been able to smile from ear-to-ear without feeling self conscious or embarrassed about how I look. Dr. Low will not only fix and relieve any present dental pain you are experiencing, but also finds and addresses areas that can cause problems in the future before they occur and become major! If I had met her before I had moved to Manhattan, I would have had the benefit of a well thought out dental program, saving me a lot of pain and a lot of money in dentist payments over the years! Welcomed with a bright smile from Dr. Low's assistant Melissa, the velvet and soothing ambience of the surgery prepared my fearful feelings of my implant appointment, into that of a nostalgic visit home for the holidays encapsulating security and warmth. Dr. Low is as down to earth as you can get, and calmly talked me through the entire process. You must have felt my fear and concerns. I soon forgot about all my fear of the implant. A successful visit, two amazing implants that naturally line up with my other teeth. It was inevitable that I had to give Dr. Low a big hug when it was all over. I seen a commercial on the TV and I went there for a consultation my appointment was at 3 o'clock gave me some paperwork to fill out as I'm waiting for the clients are walking noon no one greeted me as I'm sitting there they asked me to go into a room and as I'm going to the room they took some extras then they took me to a room close the door and the clinic manager stated come with me and put me in another room set me down she left me there and in the other room she was coming in and out checking to see if I was stealing any of the items I feel very uncomfortable and then went to the front because she was picking up other phone calls and was ignoring me like if I was no one no one then she started making fun of me and my teeth I started to cry it was very stressful and very unprofessional so please if you go there and your Spanish you will be discriminated I was not properly taken care of have a good day read more
