I had a last minute visit with Dr. Verma today after dealing with a dental emergency over the weekend. Despite the stress of the situation, Dr. Verma and her team were really warm and took great care of me. I'm a new patient here and plan to see Dr. Verma moving forward for my regular dental needs. It looks like most bad reviews here are quite old and from before Dr. Verma became the lead dentist at Holistic Dentists. What a relief to find a dentist who looks at healing and less invasive services. How novel!! But then how can a dentist stay in business if they aren't offering all of these expensive services that really don't benefit the consumer, root canals being one major example. Oh, so your dental plan covers root canals, or at least in part? That doesn't mean that it's in your best interest to get them. You wouldn't go along with one if you knew how harmful they are. Read deeper than "professional guidelines" to find out their real risks and problems. You can walk in and get a CAT scan and see if your sinuses have been affected by existing root canals. I was served well by the dentist here and had a great teeth cleaning session. I'll be back and am grateful they are in business. Dr Gross is just terrible. He insisted on procedures I did Not want or need, including orthodontics before even looking in my mouth! He is all about the upsell - tried to get me to buy his tablets and was really pushy. He got angry and rude with me when I asked him to wear clean gloves when putting his hands in my mouth - actually angry with me. Wtf?! He's just the worst. Please do Not go here to see him! The front desk is rude as well, which isn't surprising. My legal name is Meghan, and I go by Carla. Should be pretty easy to manage, right? I've told them about 100000 times, and they just can't seem to handle calling me by my right name! It really can't be that hard. When I reminded them to use my correct name the receptionist got so rude and blamed her computer system. If your computer system is making it impossible to call your patients by their actual name, get a new system! Pathetic. A friend of mine was just there today and they also called her by the wrong name, prompting me to write this because she's wouldn't do it herself. No excuse in 2018. Dr Verma and Carl the hygienist are the only reason I'm not giving 1 star. Carl is truly the best. I have no idea why he works in this place! Find somewhere else to go. read more

This is one of the shadiest places I've been to. There was always a problem billing. the so called Dentist would tell you one thing, then the office manager another, and then they would bill another amount to my insurance. They lied about implants and first blamed a "LAB" for their mistakes, then they slipped and said they 3-D printed all their pieces in the back of their office. this is NOT a trustworthy or ethical place. the Dentists were incompetent and unethical. Dr. Verma cannot be trusted, and the other Dentist (Dr. Gross) even talked bad about Dr. Verma behind her back. trying to convince me to do business with him instead, and that just becasue she is "nice" doesn't make her a good dentist. this is all in the same office. if they are backstabbing each other and that desperate for clients, it's because it's not a good place. Was a patient in sept 2012 - Jan 2014. What an absolute nightmare! Not holistic at all and a complete butcher to my teeth. Avoid at all cost. Because it will cost you $$$ and your teeth. Here is a list of my experiences before I finally had the sense to seek another dentist. First red flag-while waiting to see Dr. gross, I witnessed first hand someone being turned away after having been told their insurance was accepted over the phone. Naturally this person was pretty upset as he had taken time from work to be at this appt. Unfortunately for me, they took my insurance. TIP- get an email confirmation that they accept your insurance. Money- A real put off was when the billing manager hassled me about payment options prior to the appt. What I found really enraging is the amount quoted for the work would increase substantially midway while the work was being done. When this was brought up, they claimed it was a mistake on their part. I felt stuck to continue the work as they had already done half of it. I later fund out from my next dentist that Dr. Gross was really overpriced and I had great coverage on my insurance. TIP- make sure you get a quote of the work to be done in writing. Extremely painful- I found Dr. Gross to be extremely heavy handed and not empathetic to patient's sense of pain. It almost seemed as if he enjoyed causing pain, the way the needle was jammed into my gums. I've had other dentists give anesthesia and it was not painful. TIP-no tips for this unless you're into pain. Dental Work- had to see two specialists after seeing Dr. Gross. Both dentists stated he did a horrible job and did not follow textbook guidelines for a bridge. As a result I lost 2 teeth and spent more than $6000 out of pocket b/c by then my insurance premium was completely stripped by holistic dentists and Dr. Gross. TIP-get a second opinion and quote from another dentist before proceeding with this establishment. I came here because Dr. Gross markets himself as a holistic dentist. Far from it it was the most painful, frustrating and conventional dental experience. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

Often when you go to a dentist, it is during a time of stress when something has gone wrong. This was the case for me. I received excellent care from Dr. Gross, the amazing Hygienist and other team members as well. This was during a traumatic loss of a tooth and I felt comforted by the explanations of my options as well as the procedure itself. I was glad to know about the tablets that he has developed. Total scammers, will immediately try to sell products then do multiple X-ray to send your insurance a large bill which they will not pay fully so the rest comes out of pocket. A temporary filling they charged $450 and it was on just one tooth, which they did wrong. So wrong that I was in pain, called emergency number. No one responded. Don't go here. During my first appointment, Dr. Gross suggested several cosmetic procedures that I had shown no interest in. The majority of their staff is very pushy in terms of pushing appointments, procedures, and so forth. On top of all that, the dental hygienist I had chipped my tooth during cleaning. DO NOT GO HERE. I saw Dr. Gross for jaw pain & immediately he identified it was my wisdom teeth & pulled them out and I literally went to work afterwards !!!! There was no pain or discomfort. Yes bleeding but nothing I couldn't manage & I literally went about my business . I went back two weeks later for a cleaning . No more pain in my jaw and no discomfort whats so ever . I only go here out of convenience because it's close to my home and workplace but I really think I should be going to a better dentist. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I feel like they try to sell me on unnecessary procedures and products for the sake of business, not because I actually need any of it. I went here a few months ago for a consultation to get a retainer, which had been recommended to me by several other dentists. Dr. Barton barely looked in my mouth and declared that he wouldn't give me a retainer even if I wanted one because what I really needed was Invisalign and without it I would develop jaw pain and headaches later in life (none of this was ever substantiated by any other dentists I saw before or since). He proceeded to aggressively try to sell me on Invisalign and bragged about his education and status with the Invisalign company. I barely got a word in edgewise and left feeling disgusted and certain I would never come back here again. I saw Dentist Lewis Gross for a teeth cleaning and bleaching. I hadn't been to the dentist in more then 12 years; everything was good in there, thank God. but they really had their work cut out! After my cleaning and bleaching, which i almost fell asleep during, I felt so confident in my smile again. The stains from smoke and coffee removed completely. then the bleaching brighten my teeth 5 shades. I was very happy. and also learned that crooked teeth and bad pH in your mouth can cause bad breath and gum decay and even more problems. Was told to use Alka-White oral Cleanse and my mouth already feels clean and fresh! and I am going to get my teeth straightened to help with some of those issue. read more

When I arrived they informed me that they did NOT take my insurance and the visit would be over 200 dollars! What a scam! This place is money hungry and only cares about making a profit. I was treated by her at Holistic Dentists during a dental emergency--an old filling on a very deep cavity had gone bad and was causing me considerable discomfort. The office worked me into their schedule the same day that I called and worked it out with my insurance while Dr. Verma worked on my tooth and saved it! karl is the best hygienist walking the planet. Dr. lyssova is great. BUT the xray equipment is woefully out of date using the large square film holders that painfully dig into your gums it is digital but there are smaller holders that don't touch anything like snap-a-ray. because the holder is large, they are unable to get the pic without repeat xrays. last time it was 5 tries on one tooth. that is excessive. read more

I was recommended to these people when I had an emergency and they were near my job. At first things seemed okay...then I noticed that they were just doing whatever they wanted in my mouth sometimes with no explanation and then before I knew it they would tell me I ran out of insurance for the year. When I would ask for a print out of what was done they could never seem to provide it. (of course, I have to be responsible for not asking enough questions...but I hate going to the dentist so much, that I just wanted to get out whenever I am there). Last thing was going in to ask about a cosmetic procedure, and the dentist, Dr. Gross, tried to really soak me for the cost. (I said I would research around he practically ran after me as I tried to leave offering me more and more discounts...and when I finally said I would think about it again...he started offering me other things, like..."How about we just fill a filling while your here -- or maybe a cleaning"). It felt wierd and random and I wound up getting the cosmetic procedure done elsewhere for almost HALF the price! ($2,000 vs. $4,000). read more
