I stumbled on NewCastle Landscaping while trying to find a landscaper to redo the the blotched job from the previous landscaper. I interviewed around and Jeremiah (Owner) gave me the best impression. He was about 10% more than the competition, but judging by his crew's workmanship and Yelp rating, I decided to go for quality instead of price. Jeremiah was the only person that actually came to my house to do the estimate. Keep in mind, this is during COVID and he just had a newborn baby. He showed up on time, with a facemask, and politely requested that I put on a mask too. We walked my site (size of a shoebox) and he was up front that there's a lot of things that need to be fixed, my job is a little small for his team, and the price might be a little more than other landscapers. The quote was a little out of my budget, but Jeremiah worked with me to value engineer some of the scope items. We were able to prioritize the work and reduce some of the scope. The project started on time and finished on time. This is the first for me. My job was completed in the 1 week time frame they quoted me. Gus lead the crew and he was very professional. I was being a curious helicopter while he worked and he taught me a couple tips and tricks to maintain the plants. His workmanship was fantastic. Once majority of the prep/ground work was almost complete, I met with Jeremiah at a nursery to go over plant options. He listened to what I wanted (low maintenance plants) and gave me a bunch of recommendations. We put together a list of plants that I liked and he purchased what he thought would work for my yard. Jeremiah purchased/delivered the plants and Gus and the rest of the crew spotted the plants for my approval. This was definitely one of the best experiences I had with any contractor. Our back yard remodel was years in the making. We were ready to pull the trigger a few years back, plans in hand, but dragged our feet. After a few years with nothing but dirt and weeds for a yard, we were motivated enough to start interviewing more landscapers. Jeremiah was the only one to gently suggest that maybe our uncreative plan wasn't the best option. He drew up a design from scratch and the result was phenomenal. We've had a lot of guys work on our house, and usually there's a lot of drama and socialization. They show up late, gossip about each other, or just want to chat with me all day (I work at home). Gustavo, Cesar, and the rest of the crew are consummate professionals. I've never seen such a tireless work ethic! Usually they worked through the weekends, though that was never expected or required. The back yard went so well that we decided to have them do the front yard too. This time we kept some of the original hardscaping, which was dated but otherwise not terrible. The biggest part of the job was replacing the driveway with pavers, which look fantastic. Wow! We are so happy with our new back patio!! Jeremiah, the owner, came out and gave us a bid to demo our broken concrete and lay down pavers. We also needed an enormous tree stump removed and I was really delightfully surprised at the great price for demo and stump removal after having received a few higher bids from other landscapers. Jeremiah had great suggestions for how to get beautiful results within a budget. You can tell he has,a ton of experience and also has an artistic eye for suggesting the best paver color to complement our existing brick fireplace. So happy with the color he helped us choose! Jeremiah and his crew have an awesome portfolio of beautiful work on million dollar homes and I am stoked to get the same wonderful craftsmanship even on a limited budget. There was some significant landscaping work we wanted done in our front and back yards,driveway, and front patio area. We approached several contractors,including Newcastle, for consultation appointments and budgetary quotes. Jeremiah from Newcastle was one of the few that responded very quickly and gave us a very competitive price for the project. We ultimately decided to go with him because he could start right away and impressed us with his experience and input during our job walk. He was right on-point with how long the project would take. His team showed up everyday (even on a lot of Saturdays to make up for rain-out days) and were very courteous and professional. They never turned on any loud equipment before 8/8:30am and always cleaned up after them at the end of each day. They also made sure to keep the front of our house accessible and clean when They also went the extra mile with some tree trimming that I had asked for without any charge. We trusted that Jeremiah and his team would deliver a great product and we were pleasantly surprised when it was all done. They are truly proud of their work. There were no unanticipated changes to the total cost and Jeremiah was very careful to let us know of any cost impacts to changes we wanted during the project. I contracted New Castle Landscaping to landscape the front of my house, re-face the front of my home and replace the concrete driveway with bricks. The company owner, Jeremiah Kellams, was very helpful and sensitive to my design needs and budgetary restraints. He offered time and money-saving suggestions that worked perfectly, and "significantly contributed" to a successful remodel. His crew were all very hard working craftsmen, courteous and always cleaned-up at the end of each day. 2 palettes of bricks, 5 cubic yards of gravel, 3 dumpsters of debris and 4 weeks later we had a wonderful mid-50's style house, 2 beautiful desert gardens, a new irrigation system, spot lighting, ledge stone accent-facing and a brick driveway that would make any California 50's fan happy. I hired New Castle Landscaping to renovate my backyard which included removal of all vegetation, lawn and hardscaping. My yard was transformed by a different configuration of hardscaping, irrigation, garden paths, water fountain and drought-tolerant plants. Jeremiah and team did an exceptional job on our back yard remodel. His design took all our desires into consideration along with the grade challenges of our lot. His team did incredible work - especially amazing on concrete and masonry - to deliver the design. No large project is without hiccups and challenges but the whole team was communicative and reassuring when anything came up - proposing creative solutions, rethinking as needed. They also kept the area pretty neat and clean throughout and were very nice to my "helpful" dogs who still wanted their yard time. The end result is my envisioned paradise - great for my dogs, for entertaining and for quietly enjoying the SoCal climate. A great experience - outstanding job. You don't hear that often when it comes to hiring a company to do work on your home or yard. But choosing Jeremiah Kellams and New Castle Landscaping for our patio remodel job was a great decision. From the 3-D drawing of the proposed work, to assistance with HOA approval, all the way through to the completion of the job Jeremiah and his crew Dave, Pete and others were prompt, professional, inclusive and hard working. They are true professionals who care about the quality of their work. New Castle Landscaping built a beautiful BBQ island, fire pit, and pergola, cement pad for spa, installed tile, plants and lights. They also dug, trenched and installed the spa electrical and the gas lines for the fire pit and BBQ. . Like most if not all construction work that involves permits, digging and trenching, we had a couple of challenges (working with city inspectors) but Jeremiah and Dave kept us in the loop, worked diligently with the city and got everything on track with very minimal delay. This was really not an issue, but mention this because these guys really know their stuff and work hard to build it right and work with any third party (inspectors, spa dealers, etc.) to make sure things go smooth for the homeowner. This really was a no stress job (for me) that progressed as planned and resulted in a beautiful new patio for us.
