We came here on a Saturday afternoon. There were a few customers but it wasn't busy at all. From the moment we walked in the door everyone was super nice. You order and pay at the front counter and they give you a table number and bring your food to you. We ordered a spicy Sicilian pizza, a Mediterranean pizza minus onions, a five cheese mac and cheese, and tortilla soup. The spicy Sicilian pizza was the only thing that was both hot and flavorful. Nice range of toppings with flavors that kick it up a little. The Mediterranean pizza was cold and very dry. The chicken on it was flavorless. Mac n cheese was warm and flavor was alright. The tortilla soup was cold. It was so cold I asked for it to be heated which they were very nice about and actually brought out a new steaming bowl of soup. Tortilla soup was just ok. I like that they have a small table/counter area with extra toppings/condiments. A few things available were roasted garlic, capers, and sriracha. This place had me hyped up due to their radio commercials but it just wasn't good. We won't be returning. read more

I have been to Newks eatery's for the last ten years at many different locations and I am very disappointed in the quality of the one here in Chattanooga. The sandwiches are nothing to be desired based on what I know the quality is of other Newks. Also the people who deliver your food were scratching their heads and ears and then adjusting sandwiches on the plates with no gloves on. Unfortunately, I will not be back to this Newks. read more

This is an okay place. I will probably go back just to try something else on the menu. I ordered the Newt's Favorite Salad and all I can say is it is definitely Not my favorite! Chilled salad bowl was nice. Tons of greens and dressing was tasty however I found the chicken to be tough. Very glad it was thin cut or I would never ge able to chew it. I took carry out food today. Shrimp po boy sandwich and side was the black eyed pea side. The po boy should have cocktail sauce but was not in the to go bag. Anyway, the sandwich was still full of flavor. Shrimp juicy and bread perfectly toasted. The side black eyed pea was on the spicy side which was not clarified on menu. Overall good meal. So Newk's just officially opened this Monday, so I was eager to try it. You walk in and order at the counter and then seat yourself. They bring your food out to you and clean up after. We ordered and then sat down. After reviewing,my receipt I noticed they punched in the wrong item for one of our orders. I brought it to their attention and they fixed it. After a short wait all of our food was brought out except my daughters meal. A little while later, they brought out hers. I enjoyed my chef salad, it was fresh and large. My husband got the Newk's Q sandwich. It seemed to me a little lacking, not very full and as big as I thought it would be. To make up for my daughters food coming out so late, the floor manager brought out my daughter a comped slice of cake, which was very sweet. All in all, the meal was okay. Great service! People were very friendly and the food was very fresh. The only thing bad I have to say is the way they prepared my grilled chicken sandwich was incorrect. They forgot lettuce and the honey mustard that comes on it. The Caesar salad was prepared perfect. It's very packed all the time so order ahead if you're in a rush or come early! Was a complete waste of money, will not only never order food from the place for delivery, I won't walk in the door of the establishment. There are too many places much better to eat in the area. Love the food here and all but their "half" sandwiches are more like 1/5 of a sand which. I was really disappointed as well of how dirty this location is, there is napkins and trash on the floor tables and all the booths were dirty. read more

So, today was a different experience for me. I had ordered a sandwich and it came out totally wrong. The lady had said that "the other half of the sandwich was in the back if I wanted it." I definitely would not order online from this place. We ordered an Italian pizza minus the salami, add basil & mushroom, and red onions. Got back to our hotel room and realized none of the items we had requested to add were on the pizza. Called to tell them it was incorrect. Was told to bring it back and they would make us another one. Took them over 20 minutes to remake, the website said only 10 minutes for the pizza. Back at hotel again and pizza was still not right ugh. I asked her to comp. us for the original pizza since we had to drive back from the hotel. I was told by the manager that she would put the charge back on our credit card at close of business. This was never done. Also pizza was very greasy, yuk. read more

One and done. The visit started off with the girl who took our order getting it wrong... foreshadowing I believe. Hubby's "half sandwich" was more like 1/4 of a sandwich and the meats on it weren't very flavorful like you'd expect from an Italian sandwich. The potato soup was ok but was missing the usual chunks of potatoes. My cheese pizza wasn't that great but I was really hungry so I ate it. The side of pasta salad was hands down the nastiest I've ever eaten. The mac and cheese was decent. Then the "scratch made" caramel cake followed suit with the majority of the meal... yuck! Didn't taste fresh or like caramel, we tried one bite and decided to end this unpleasant visit. Maybe we didn't order things that keep people coming back but we certainly won't be back to attempt to find out what that might be. There's a plethora of better options around for food so my advice is pass on this place. read more

I have heard so many good things about Newk's Eatery in other cities, so I was excited to try it once it arrived in Chattanooga. What a disappointment!!!! The girl taking orders at the front was RUDE and clearly had no experience in customer service. My husband placed his order, and I said "same exact order". We got our cups, and went to find a place to sit. It wasn't too busy, but we had difficulty finding a table because everything was dirty. We eventually found one that wasn't too bad. A quick glance around made me feel concerned. The place was filthy! Food all over the floor, food all over the tables, food on the condiment server in the middle. One employee started refilling the croutons without wearing gloves (gross), and proceeded to clean the table by wiping all the spilled food on the floor. When our food arrived, one plate was missing a soup. The lady that brought our food out tried to argue with us, saying that it was correct. She finally took all of it to the back and corrected it. We starting eating, and my husband found a hair in his potato soup. Nasty. Overall, this was a horrible experience. The people that work here are rude and have no customer service skills or work ethic. If the owner wants this restaurant to survive, his best bet is to fire everyone and start over. read more

My family ate at Newks on a Sunday afternoon, it took about 40 minutes to get our food. Forgot my husbands food all together and messed up my sons pizza and had to fix it, which you could tell they weren't happy about- had to ask a little while later where it was, which was answered with "oh yeah" and then received the most undercooked messy pizza. No apologies offered. We heard several other families complaining during our visit. It may have been an off day for them, but we won't be back. read more

Our first visit to this restaurant in Chattanooga was amazing. Today's visit (4-27-19) not so much. Food was fine and the workers were friendly, but nearly all of the tables had not been cleaned. If you wanted a table, you literally had to clean it yourself. Not just a few crumbs, but people's previous meals were left on tables. We were there for over 30 minutes..not busy at all...people wandering around trying to find a clean place to sit and workers did nothing. That is poor management. read more

I love Newk's don't get me wrong, but their half sandwich size is clearly not a half. It looks like they cut it diagonal so they can get 3 or 4 "half sandwiches" from one sandwich. We waited 5 years for Newk's to come to town.. we've been here 3x since they opened and ordered out 1x. After last nights experience, I'm not sure we will go back. My husband went to grab condiments and drinks while I sat at the table and observed what appeared to be a homeless woman with pink hair walking in and out of the kitchen and standing near the food that was leaving the kitchen. Turns out, she works there! I witnessed the manager pick up the phone and start the call the police after another employee came in to get her check after being fired. As soon as our food hit the table I asked to speak to the manager. I complained about my food because I ordered a whole sandwich with a side of Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese was NOTHING like it was when corporate was in town. I was given a half a sandwich and plastic silverware. The manager had them make me another half of a sandwich and there was so much mayonnaise & mustard on it, it was running down the side.. looked like a bird flew by and took a dump on my roast beef sandwich. We were there the night they opened and the employees were nervous but PHENOMENAL!! The food was Newk's quality. Now, here we are, not even 2 weeks later and it's just gone to hell in a hand basket. I've lived here since 2014 and this is record breaking. The employees have gotten lazy now that corporate has left. Disappointing! Chattanooga opened March 18, 2019.
