Yummy food and such nice people! My family of 4 recently had dinner here and it's perfect for families with young kids. Kids meals are great and the food came out fast. I got a sandwich and salad combo . The bread is so good! The green goddess salad is excellent! The kids pizza and Mac and cheese were perfect for my kiddos. I stopped in on Wednesday afternoon as I had a Yelp Elite Perk event. I have been to this location a couple times in the past. I have attended several other Yelp events in the recent past and they have always been equipped and aware of how to redeem them. Upon going in to get my sandwich with a side, I felt like it was a complete inconvenience as the employee had no clue how to redeem it. I really threw them off when I ordered a bottle of water too. They had to separate the items on different checks. Ultimately, it took multiple employees and several minutes to figure out how to do it while customers behind me were stuck waiting. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich with a side of pasta salad. The side of pasta salad is pretty small but I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, although I was sooo looking forward to my chicken salad..they gave me the wrong sandwich. I got the sandwich with chicken, cheese and the white BBQ sauce. I ate half of it but didn't like it nearly as much as the one I wanted. I didn't realize until I got to my car that it was wrong and was already annoyed with the process so didn't bother trying to exchange. Not sure how Newk's got linked up with Yelp, but they were clearly unprepared to handle the event (at least at the time I visited). Although I didn't get a fountain drink I saw they had a sign saying no refills at this time because of covid. At least offer customers a new cup for a refill. Some of my coworkers won't go because they don't allow refills on beverages. They can figure something out so the customer isn't at a disadvantage. read more

Every time that we go there everyone that we talk to are very nice and cordial towards us. My husband's favorite is the Newks Q he absolutely loves that sauce on that sandwich. Wow! I can't believe that I haven't written a review for Newk's yet. I used to eat lunch here almost every other week when they first opened that it caused the guy I was seeing at the time to complain. Sometime during the pandemic I stopped eating here even though I really liked their shrimp po boy sandwich and their chicken salad. The service is better than Panera's as they bring you your food and bus the table. I really like that they have a variety of iced teas and cake slices. The cakes are very sweet and moist. Recently I went again for lunch and was reminded why I like them over Panera. This time I had a decent French dip sandwich with au jus. Instead of coleslaw they now offer potato salad. The potato salad was some of the best I have had from a restaurant. It tasted exactly like a homemade southern style salad with sweet pickle relish. The potatoes were perfectly cooked. I wish it was a bigger portion. Overall I will return for a quick, casual lunch. read more

Newk's has been on my To Do list for a good little while now and I enjoyed every minute of my pizza. I had the Newk's Q Pizza. Chicken, bacon, jalapeños mozzarella and Newk's white BBQ sauce and thoroughly enjoyed myself. With all of the delicious toppings, im shocked that I'm about to say that the crust was probably my favorite part. Crispy, buttery and cooked just right. Keena had the Mediterranean Pizza and enjoyed hers just as much as I enjoyed mine. Newk's does pizza right and i would have no hesitation recommending you all to my family and friends. read more

I once AGAIN tried Newks because their salads have been good but after finding hair 2 x's in the past in different salads, I didnt go for a long time....BUT now today-another long brown hair was found. I have short gray hair...it is not mine. I really got grossed out. I threw the salad out after 4 bites. I don't want a strangers dna in my food. They wear hats there...they do not pull their hair back in a pony tail. It isn't working!! My last time...NEVER again. Check your food!! :( read more

They use fresh ingredients and prepare your selections fresh to order. Pizza is my favorite here. They make a nice crispy thin crust pie with delicious toppings in generous portions. And speaking of generous portions, the amount of toppings in their salads in amazing. I am not usually a big salad fan, but the Cobb Salad here is a must-order to pair with my pizza. Besides the entrees, which can be had individually or in a combination of pairings, they have a small selection of deserts to top off your meal. So definitely something for almost everyone to enjoy. This location has always provided quick and efficient service, with hot delicious entrees and fresh salads. Facility is clean. Atmosphere is pleasant. First time trying this place and ordered a half chicken salad sandwich; half Italian sub, and Newk's salad. Let me say how impressed I am with both sandwiches. The chicken salad was made with quality chicken breast, and was highlighted by the excellent dark bread I didn't think the Italian could compete. Man was I wrong! The Italian sub is served warm and the meats, cheese & peppers on the Italian roll was truly excellent! I did have to eliminate some of the onions but I devoured the sandwich. The chicken salad sandwich and salad while excellent will have to wait until tomorrow. If you're in the Crofton area, I encourage you to give this place a try. The pizza looked great. I have always enjoyed the food here. The restaurant is always clean and the employees are welcoming and attentive. My favorite simple happy lunch is the Pick A Pair half salad & soup. They offer one of my favorite soups, tomato basil. It's topped with a couple of fresh basil leaves and homemade croutons; my salad choice is the Greek salad that comes with romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, peperoncini, kalamata olives, cucumbers, red onion, artichoke hearts and a sprinkle of feta cheese. It's a generous side salad, fresh and just right with the salad dressing! I had asked for light on the red onions and the result was perfect! Found my way over in Crofton running errands and was hungry. I discovered Newk's Eatery nearby. There's one in Annapolis, near the Whole Foods, but I've never been. I enjoyed my lunch on the patio where we could socially distance. It was delicious fresh food and nice service - everyone working hard to please the customers. Had Splenda iced tea (thank you for the calorie free option pre-sweetened!), a whole Italian sub (super fresh, very delicious with a lot of meat and cheese and the perfect amount of condiments) and a side Greek salad (fresh, well dressed, lots of black olives and pepperoncini). Newk's is perfect for a quick, easy, and quality meal. The menu has so many options including soups, sandwiches, salads, flatbreads, and the option to combine half portions of two choices together for a complete meal experience. My go to choice is the turkey and avocado sandwich. It comes on 11 grain bread but something I switch it up to the white artisan bread. The menu is posted immediately as you walk in, making it easy as pie to view the choices up close without having to squint or walk up to the counter. I love the fact that when you order a drink it comes in a type of commemorative cup that you can take home. Actually I'm not sure if you're allowed to take it home, but I have before. I'm sorry if I was supposed to leave it. It didn't even occur to me until right now. But the cups are always so cool! My mom loves the black & bleu salad and devours the entire thing. Most recently, my best friend and I went there and she was super impressed with the variety of sandwiches and flatbreads. She ended up getting a steak and cheese sandwich and did her best to eat the whole thing. The meals are hearty and the ingredients are fresh as can be. There's no going wrong with ordering from Newk's. I love that you can watch them make the meals from the glass too. Their sides are awesome also! You can choose a freshly made fruit cup, pasta salad, chips. They also have cake and freshly packaged sandwiches and side you can grab if you're on the go. They really are a step above your standard sandwich and salad shop. There is a large parking lot and the restaurant is easy to get too. Just make sure you are careful crossing the street because it is a popular and congested area. Its well worth the visit. You'll leave full and happy. It doesn't feel heavy especially because you can taste the freshness in every bite. I feel like Newk's isn't as appreciated as it should be. Once you try it, it'll be a staple in your life! They are even on the food delivery apps which we've used a few times when we didn't feel like leaving the house. I haven't been at Newk's since they first opened. No particular reason other than it not the first thing that comes to mind since there are so many options for dining in the Crofton/Gambrills area. I decided to go down memory lane and I forgot how tasty their sandwiches were. Their bread were warm, crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Bottom Line: Sandwiches, pizzas and salads in a casual, quick-serve atmosphere. While in Waugh Chapel I went to Newk's for lunch and ordered a salad and soda. Also, I had a coupon for a free cup of soup so I gladly indulged in that on a cold, wet January day. I started with the loaded baked potato soup which was hearty and flavorful. From there I dived into the salmon Caesar salad. The salads at Newk's are huge and I was glad that the salmon was a single piece of filet on top so it didn't get lost in my voluminous bowl of romaine. As far as drinks go, they have Coca-Cola fountain drinks, iced tea, coffee and other selections. As much as I am addicted to Diet Coke, I don't love that they only have one size drink and it's a big plastic cup. The price tag for that is $2.50 and then the plastic cup goes in the recycling bin. The logistics of Newk's is that you order at the counter, help yourself to drinks and then your food is brought to the table. The restaurant is larger than I expected and a bit cramped in places. The flow could definitely be improved near the soda fountains. Some aspects of the restaurant looked a little worn. Overall I would compare Newk's to Corner Bakery Cafe or Panera. I like the Annapolis location of Newk's a bit better and I think that is because it's in better condition. read more
