This review is mainly just for the vacuum. Have been coming here for years now it's a quieter gas station with a vacuum in the back of the building for $1 in quarters for a few minutes (probably 4 minutes) and much cheaper and more peaceful than brown bear, etc. Has a convenient garbage can and is usually empty making it a great place for me to clean the inside of my car and I can be thorough and not feel rushed. Only one vacuum available. As for the gas station, the inside employees are usually helpful and friendly but products don't always have a price tag or sticker so I avoid the products I don't know how much they are..Seems they also have mechanics available if you need work on your car. I'm mixed for this review. I've had my daughter's car worked on before (brakes) with great results. Availability was within 24hrs and follow up was them calling me, the way it should be !!! Recently paid $778 for alternator job that was quoted ~$500. According to the receipt I paid $380 for a $100 part; and that's the high end. Again Service is top notch and attention to detail comes with recommendations. We all have one of those days. I still recommend them but just pay attention to the details. read more

Mount and discount 40 per tire, not even including disposable fee. When discount tire is 20 per tire that includes everything. Tire mounting takes no more than an hour at most. They had the car since 8:00am and I picked it up at 5pm. An hour job takes them a whole working day. Very disappointed. If tire mounting cost 200 a set, I just wonder how much they over charge on everything else. Rip off. read more

I could not love this place more. This is what a "service station" is supposed to be like. I've had multiple small issues with cars over the years, these guys can often diagnose them in minutes and fix them quickly and cheaply. Versus trying to take those same cars to dealership service centers and get charged gobs of money just to diagnose a check engine light. Last communication I had, I brought a Ford Focus in and he drove it around and tested it and it was some transmission chip which is on extended warranty. These guys are super busy. Booked my maintenance check up and it was several weeks out. I've heard great things about this place so I figured it would be worth the wait. I dropped off my car in the morning around 7 and took an Lyft home. Came back to pick it up around 10. The price was about $100 cheaper than at the dealership. I know, I know - a third review, but really - they're that good! Newport Hills is the only place I'll take my car and for good reason - they get it right 100% of the time. I went to start my car a few weeks ago and low and behold, it wouldn't start. After a quick call from AAA, I had a new battery and life could go on - or so I thought. A few days later and it wouldn't start again. Another few calls to AAA later, too many hours waiting, and multiple missed appointments, I took it to Newport Hills Chevron. They were able to quickly diagnose the problem - AAA had given me the wrong battery! Bret was able to figure out the problem and get a new battery in without any hassle. Even better, he said he'd even take a call from AAA to help me get a refund on the bad battery. These guys are awesome ! My car suddenly shut off on me and I called the Chevron station because of the good reviews. They got me in right away and used their diagnostic machine , also checked the battery and alternator and oil and assured me that the car is safe to drive, and seemed to have worked out the issue in its own. They didn't charge me a cent! I was so afraid and stressed about an unexpected bill. They are honest guys and even though I live 40 minutes away, I will definitely be going there from now on. The squeaky belt on our 2016 Nissan Frontier​ was driving everyone crazy. Took it up to Chevron and a really nice guy in the garage asked if he could help. I told him about the squeak. He looked at the belt, said it looks okay, pushed on the auto-tensioner, and then had me start it up. Pow - most of the squeak was gone, then he ran some tire chalk on the belt and it was completely gone. He said there was probably​ something on it, but that should do it. No charge. He said if it comes back, he'll change the belt, but no need to do it today. Just friendly, honest neighborhood goodwill. Can't beat that. read more

I am so happy I was referred to Barry and the crew at Newport Hills Chevron! I went to them with a laundry list of repairs "recommended" by the BMW dealership-- over $2,200 worth. I walked out of there spending only $400! They fixed one major issue, and had a very honest conversation with me that the other items on the list either were not really necessary to fix at all, or something that could be addressed at a later time (most likely a year or two down the road). I put my truck here twice, one for oil change and the other one for a starter repair. My first experience was great. The second time was bad. They charged me $370 for the starter replacement. I thought it was a ripped off. Anyways, they told me my fuel pump is also bad and the dude tried to sell me the service on the phone saying my truck won't start and needs to tow. Well, I came by and we started it just fine. I put some fuel in it and the same dude said do not put too much fuel in it because it's harder to drop the fuel tank. It's 500 POUNDS too heavy. I was like: WTF. This guy is nut. I am not a mechanic but I am not that stupid to believe 12 gallons of fuel can weight 500 POUNDS!!? Oh and by the way, replacing fuel pump does not require to drop fuel tank. You can pull the truck bed on top and it's just 6 bolts. Duh!! I drove home and never came back. 3 stars because they were nice in the first time. Gas here is expensive by the way!! read more

This was probably the best car-mechanic place I have EVER gone to. 1) my "maintenance required" light was on... They fixed that issue (Only an oil change I guess) 2) My car was making funky noises when I turned (they tightened the belt) 3) They found out I couldn't stay longer than 1.5 hours (As I was on my lunch).. so they fit me in to get me out quicker. They only charged me for the oil change! They were all SO polite,friendly, and just so easy going! I wish they weren't so deep! I found these guys on Car Talk's Mechanic's Files, and then I crossed referenced with Yelp. Normally, I'd bring my Jeep to my local mechanic, but since relocating to WA, that old mechanic is thousands of miles away, in Massachusetts (or "Massatwoshits" as people here say). My headlights went out one day-- kind of something that I needed to deal with immediately. I called ahead, then brought my Jeep in the next morning. I spoke with Brett (I think that was his name). He said "If you have a minute, let's look at this together-- maybe I can save you some time." He quickly swapped out some parts (in front of me) to see if it was a quick fix. Sadly, it wasn't. But his hacker diagnosing-out-loud approach impressed me, and so I was content leaving my car with them for the rest of the day. By the end of the day, Brett had diagnosed and replaced the part-- a faulty "new" part that my "trusty" mechanic back home had installed! I went back for one other small repair, and my experience was similar-- after dropping the Jeep off for repair, they called me to tell me it was done-- before I even got to work! So the short version of the above is: their prices are fair, their service is fast, and they seem to do a good job. I looked over all the repairs they did, and since I sometimes dabble in doing repairs myself (e.g., easy stuff like brakes, belts, oil), their work looked tidy. I'd go back. read more

For a gas station with all automated pumps there just can hardly be anything going wrong, until I needed to talk with a clerk their on a Friday night (after 9PM). The lady there was very impatient and rude when I asked if they accept Apple Pay. She knew nothing about it and apparently hasn't even heard the name. She acted like I made something up and she just was too eager going off work to serve. There was no other customer nor other clerks so she thought she didn't need to be nice because nobody else was watching. read more

Barry and this place are AMAZING! My husband's Nissan started to make a terrible grinding noise and I made the mistake of taking it to "Nissan of the Eastside" to get it inspected, and they also do a full car inspection. They informed me that the caliper pin on the rear brake was stuck open and that is what was causing the grinding noise. The bill to put a brand new caliper on $950. It gets worse- the laundry list of items they said were wrong with the car totaled a whopping $4,000. Um...this is my husbands commuter car and it is probably worth that much. I panicked when I heard the amount, as with most car issues they are sudden and unplanned. I looked up this place and it had great reviews, so I called and spoke with Barry and without looking at the car or telling him what Nissan was going to charge said at the very most it would cost $600- but he wanted to take a look. We dropped of the car that evening and he called me first thing in the morning to report his findings. There was NOTHING wrong with the caliper...it simply needed new brakes & pads. I also voiced concern with steering wheel shaking when braking at a high speed, we decided to do rear breaks and rotate all of the roater's to fix the shaking issue. My total bill $400 with tax! Barry had it all done by 1pm that same day! Don't take your car anywhere else to get fixes or estimates, this is the only place to go!! read more
