The sink in my guest bathroom was clogged and water was not draining even after trying to snake the drain. Then the toilet and sink in my master bathroom start experiencing issues! I had called a different plumber through a referral from a friend but after multiple reschedules (All on their end btw), when he finally showed up, he was not helpful so I came to Yelp to find help! I'm SO GLAD I came across Newport - Mesa Drains aka Joseph! Not only was he great at communication, he was on time and showed up when he said he would, he was also very transparent about costs and showed the utmost professionalism. He was able to fix the clog in my guest sink quickly but the issue with my master bath toilet and sink were a bigger issue. He diligently tried to resolve the issue the most cost effective route but after multiple efforts, he ended up having to remove the toilet to unclog the main. And when I say he was diligent, I mean, the man went up and down from my roof to access the roof vent MULTIPLE times before he had to result to removing the toilet. Not only that, but HE CLEANED UP THE BATHROOM after the fact. I am also very appreciative about how he took the time to explain to me what he was going to do and where and what the root cause of the issues were. I feel like a weight has been lifted now! I found Newport Mesa Drains through a project inquiry where Yelp sent out 5 messages to different businesses. I originally meant to just reach out to my usual plumber but I'm so glad that I branched out! After a few text messages to see the quotes from other places, including my original plumber, Newport Mesa Drains had the most reasonable price, he was speedy with the response and had availability the same day! Joseph came in the time range he gave me. He was courteous and friendly. It makes me nervous to have people I don't know in my house but Joseph was personable and easy to talk to, especially when I had questions. He was also very knowledgeable about the plumbing project and when we had a little hick up because my husband bought a part that didn't fit our drain well, Joseph went right away to Home Depot to get what was needed. We had many problems with our bathroom, which included clogged sink, a toilet that would not flush properly/ blockage in the pipes beyond the toilet, and an overflow problem in the bathtub which caused the inability use the bathtub as intended. I had a kitchen sink clog and called at 730a. They gave me a quote by phone when I explained the problem. By 830a they were out here and did not try to change the quote (like other companies with low advertising do). It wound up being a tougher job than expected. They worked until the clog was cleared and cleaned up perfectly after. Totally put in that extra effort that only family-owned businesses do. I would recommend them to ANYONE. My initial review was removed for yelp by no reason. The contractor for this business has been keep telling me he's getting close to the condo but never showed up. He was assigned by the home warranty company in the early morning to take care of an emergency. I called him in the early morning to aware of his workload so I can manage my time for his visit. first time, the contract say once he finish the current emergency he will come. Second time, I called at afternoon around 2pm, he said he just finished the first work and about to take some photo, and he will take some photo heading to the condo to fix my issue. He didn't provide ETA but he said he's 20-30 min away. Third time, I don't want bother so I asked my in-law to call him again, here's his response, he's taking care of emergency but he will be at the condo soon. again, no more follow up. no show. until this morning. He texted me ask me to take down the review I gave and insist that's not his fault but the insurance company. A person doesn't respect other ppl's time. I won't trust his professionalism either. So I cancel the request from Home Warranty company. I reached out this contractor a few times and was not given the clear answer. For a whole day, I arranged my schedule to be prepared for his visit but no update at all. My in-law was very upset by talking to him the third time and he keep saying he has to take care of other's emergency first. I never ever give 1 star review on yelp, the worst is always around 2 or 3. Had to deal with an emergency gas line issue over the holiday weekend a coordinate with landlords, SoCal Gas etc. to get this done.
