Sunday Dinner, trying this place out after years of avoiding them due to high prices (2019 ish). Check #414 6/1/25 6:14pm Drive Thru Poor and effortless service, with poor quality food. Drive thru attendant (standing/female) seemed bothered and rude at initial greeting. Flustered when we asked for a menu because we were too far from the displayed menu. Had a difficult time navigating adding an extra ranch to the order for some reason. Extra meaning, in addition to what we were already getting. Next attendant at the Drive Thru window (female) was unpleasant as well. Had our drinks incorrect, understandable, however she insisted her order was correct and had the correct drinks. Drinks were not remotely correct, something we would never order. Continued to try and hand us the wrong drinks until we had to deny accepting them. Had another conversation about extra ranch. Flustered that it was never added to our order initially, and she would have to ring us up separately. Aborted the ranch situation at this point. Interaction at this window was dry and unpleasant. 1 of 2 burgers was served with molded bread. Not much to say about this. Turned off by Nexx Burger, not a great establishment by any means. Food was satisfactory, prices were carb better than what they used to charge. I believe their whole direction changed at some point, and started marketing at a different price point. In 2019 it was a$60 visit for a fam of 3 for some burgers and crafted soda. read more

Everytime in Cali this is my spot to go for burgers. My favorite of all time. I don't eat meat therefore I have their impossible burger and it never misses. I love it. Their nexx fries (without the bacon) is amazing too, either some extra super sauce on the side. I been coming here for the last several years that I been visiting/working around Cali. The service here is also really good. They are fast, attentive and polite. 5 stars all the way. The restaurant itself is a cute setup, love the logo, the colors and how open the space is. Thank you NEXX for making your burgers fresh to order and using fresh ingredients. Fries were tasty and onions rings were too. Overall a good tasting burger that goes back to the basics. You won't find too many variations but that's ok because that means they do things right here. Price was about right for this type of meal although some add ins can get a little pricey just fyi. I have Nexx maybe once a week... I need to update my review before I go into cardiac arrest. Burgers are always good, especially like their $3.75 double cheeseburger special. I do have a minor complaint and it's almost a belief not a reality but I think they be using old onions. I ate in my car and it's been days, still stinking of onions. It's pretty well known that old onions stink harder, and the onion taste/smell from the food here stays with me. Something to mention, I get onions & cilantro on my tacos whenever I go to a taco stand and if you stood right next to me, you'd never be able to smell I had onions for lunch. With Nexx, you could smell me from a mile away. It's WEIRD. Also a tip: if you like the double cheeseburger from McDonald's, order a burger like this: Plain Double Cheeseburger Add pickles Add DICED (warning - they stink) onion Add ketchup Add mustard Also, the onion rings are fire. Seen some complaints about them being overcooked but in all my 30 something check-ins, I've never had an issue with them. So the burger looks great, good amount of cheese, and you get that In N Out cheese paper! You can customize what you want on the burger, so I went with the staples of lettuce and tomato. Just really wanted to get a traditional burger taste for comparison. I'll say that the burger is dense, you will feel it when you're finished, but with the cheese, lettuce and tomato, it was tasty. I feel the meat needed to be seasoned better. Also tried some sweet potato fries, which weren't bad, could have been crispier. Some felt mushy ish. Arrived at the drive thru around 10pm and the line wasn't bad. What brought us in, was the promise of $3.75 cheeseburgers, but we wanted to try the whole experience so opted for a meal. The burger was really great! Perfectly seasoned and delicious. I learned later that there was a grilled onion option, Ill get that next time. Another pro was that they offer sweet potato fries. In fact i believe this place is a tad bit cheaper than in n out if i am not mistaken. The menu is small but includes a chicken sandwich option as well as chili . Intrigued by the Billboard ad I'd passed on Florence, I hung a R on Florence and found Nexx a mile west of my physician's office. I am pleasantly surprised by the prices! $10.95 for a one-third pounder combo with fries and a drink is not bad at all, especially when you see inferior chains like Wendy's and Carl's Jr. tryna to gouge ya for $13+ for comparable sized burger combos. The service is efficient, my "buzzer pager thingy" was flashing its lights within five minutes of my order. And this was at 1:35pm, still within the confines of peak lunch hour crowds. Taste wise, my burger was very good. Toasted bun cradling a thick pound patty, crisp red tomatoes, cold lettuce and white onions. The fries were crispy and perfectly salted (an underappreciated component of any good fast food meal!). But they were served lukewarm. The Nexx dining room is outfitted in contemporary grays, reds and shiny white subway style tiles. Our dining room was filled to three-fourths capacity during my visit...yet the Nexx team kept the orders and patrons humming through with great efficiency. The bathroom is clean, well stocked and vast. Pro tip- The milkshakes aren't bad. If you've room following your meal, the $4.37 with taxes is worth it. Situated right above my table, Nexx queries it's customers with a scripted question posed in Colonial red: "What's your Nexx Burger?" I never heard of Nexx and have never seen it here in San Diego so this was my 1st visit and it definitely satisfied my burger craving. We went through the drive through which was long but moved pretty quickly. They have an all day everyday special of hamburger for $2.55 or cheeseburger for $3.75. I noticed the meals were $5 more which I thought was pricey for adding on fries and a drink but I can see why its worth it. The guy at the drive thru actually messed up and gave the car in front of us our order but they did make us a new order and he gave us 2 free milkshakes for having to wait again. I will not be going back to this location. I rather go to a different location than Downey. I end up going today with my mother to get three french fries and a drink. We told the what we wanted. We asked him to repeat the order back. He repeated it exactly how we ordered it, three french fries and a drink. we get to the window and he takes my mother's card and said one fry and one drink, and he scanned the card, and my mom and I said no three fries and a drink. He goes. I'm so sorry, and charges my mother again on her credit card. I get dipping sauce, and he goes oh that's extra as well. I said you just fucked up order and charged my mom's car twice and now you wanna charge me the third time for dipping sauce!? At this point I am fucking pissed off! The bacon cheeseburger so good (my daughter had a plain cheeseburger) We also had onion rings and chili cheese fries.
