I been here to the old place before and it was ok; and I've been to the new place recently a few times, but only for Bambu (which is located inside the restaurant). I was telling myself, why would they have a great drink place (5*) inside the restaurant? Would they have enough man power to keep up with the restaurant if the drink side is too busy? Boy was I wrong. Nho Cafe (restaurant side) can stand on their own. This got to be currently THE BEST Vietnamese cuisine here in FRESNO. Two of the best (food and drink) in one restaurant. Who ever had not heard of this place will soon know of it because your friends will be talking about it. Don't be the last to find out. I ordered the Bun ho hue dat beit, it's a spicy noodle soup (similar to Thai's kapoon, but clear soup). The noodle was cooked perfectly. If I'm not mistake, it even tasted like it was made freshly here. I have not been to Vietnam nor am I Vietnamese, but I would imagine this is how grandmother in Veitnam would of cooked the Bun ho hue dat beit. The flavors is so authentic and it just explodes in your mouth. If I had to rate it 1 out of 10 and 10 is the best. I would give it a 15. YES, that good. The dish comes with pork feet and pork blood (you can order without the pork stuff) and it even has banana flower shavings as a topping, so authentic and flavorful and full of different meat and tendons and they do give plenty of it too. If you're a food junkie and are not afraid to try new and exotic restaurant, give this place a try. You will not regret. The restaurant is hidden in the back. This is truly a hidden gem here in FRESNO. Worth every penny spent. A travel to Vietnam $1000+. Going to Nho Cafe = priceless. read more

in my opinion this place has the best broth in fresno/clovis area. this is coming from an asian guy who has eaten pho his entire life. the only issue i have with this place is the fact it gets pretty crowded (not a shot) and the flooring. i've almost slipped on their floors multiple times. im surprised they havent changed it since it's a liability. read more

If you wanna try a Vietnamese noodle dish that isn't pho, I'd recommend coming here. It's located in the Mayfair center where all the other pho places are, but towards the back of the building. Just look for a group of old asian men socializing outside. The husband and I have had the Bun Bo Hue, which is a light tomato beef broth that is finished with some funky shrimp paste and served with vermicelli noodles. Really delicious of you're wanting to venture into something new. It's also served with an array of different types of herbs and veggies such as thin sliced lotus flower, mint, lettuce and cabbage (much different then pho.) If you do still want to stick to pho, theirs is solid. It had a much different taste then any pho I've had in Fresno. I'm not quite sure what it was but I think their spice blend may be a little different. And they put filet mignon in their noodles which makes a big difference. I usually never care for the sliced beef, because they tend to be really tough. But their filet was so tender and yummy. I would say skip out on the banh mi. We got the pork belly one, and it was okay. The bread was over toasted. And it had pate in it when it wasn't indicated on the menu. (I love pate, but I'm not supposed to have any since I'm pregnant) If there is ONE thing you should come here for, it's for the coffee. Vietnamese coffee is so strong and bitter, but is balanaced with sweetened condensed milk. And they make it damn good here. I only had a sip, but my God, those sips were glorious. Came here for dinner with my family and again, the food was good but I was a little disappointed to find hair in our flan cake. It was replaced with a smaller piece (not sure if they just cut the part with the hair out and gave it back to us). Used the women's bathroom and it was so gross in there. The trash was full of paper towels, the toilet paper was empty and the new one was not in place, and the soap dispensers were empty. The soap was in an outside container sitting on the sink that was hard to get soap on your hands unless you held the container down; let's just say if the cooks used the bathroom, I wouldn't want them preparing my food with those hands. They also gave us the wrong drinks. I don't think I will be coming back. read more

I ordered a beef stew that came with a French baguette. It cost me around $9. I kid you not, It came in a little kid size bowl. It is so not worth it and everything is overpriced. The tendon was so hard and it only had 4 small pieces of meat in the soup. I was really disappointed and it was not a fulfilling meal, granted I paid $9 for it. Their boba weren't that good either. They filled up the whole thing with Ice so the drink was pretty much watered down. I asked them to remake and the man was really nice about it. He had someone remake it but they pretty much just added more sweet syrup to it. read more

Nho Cafe is an incongruous little cafe seemingly straight out of Little Saigon. Old Vietnamese guys smoking and playing Chinese chess outside, Paris by Night playing on a flat screen, endless self-served tea from a hot pot by the entrance, dodgy characters stealing the tips. I came with my wife and we told ourselves the food is either going to suck or it is going to amazing. It did not suck. She ordered Bun Bo Hue (Anthony Bourdain calls it the best soup in the world) and it was pretty authentic, fragrant with lemon grass, beef shank cooked just right, complete with blood cake. Only thing missing was pig's feet but by far the best in Fresno. I got the Mi Trieu Chau the dry version which again was a pleasant surprise. The sauce was just right and it came with a bowl of broth and meaty bone to gnaw on just like back home. I was in heaven. To answer the question why there are no female customers here, it is a Vietnamese thing. Same with most coffee shops in VN, it is a guy thing to hang out drinking black coffee and smoking although smoking has not been an issue here. They can be loud though. Don't care for that myself and hope the scene changes as other Yelpers come by. The waitresses here are just regular waitresses. It is not that kind of place. Can't wait to come back and try other things. Well we have been back as by now we are pretty much regulars (at least once a week). They are very consistently good. If you come on weekends, they offer specials which tend to run out quickly. Last time we had Bun Mang Vit which translates to Duck noodle soup with bamboo shoots which was excellent. we have also tried the My Quang, also excellent. It was very authentic, comes with a thicker sauce almost like a stew. We have been told that they will cook stuff for us not on the menu such as Canh Chua, Muc Xao, etc... which we cannot get anywhere else in town. I was introduced to Nho kitchen through their location on Palm. I was instantly impressed and on my second visit saw a sign they'd be closing lol fortunately the cashier shared their other location with me and also that they had a larger menu! This is now a frequent visit for my family, the P1 pho with oxtail and the Korean short rib plate are our go-tos for food. As far as the drinks go, trying their Chè has opened up a whole new world for us! We crave the Fruit Addict! If you like adding a ton of jellies and boba to your tea it's worth a try! The best way I can describe it is a coconut milk snow cone on top with pieces of fresh coconut, Jackfruit, lychee and various jellies swimming in a lightly sweet coconut milk. So good! We also enjoy the lychee and mango smoothie for my little one. They make it less sweet for us as well! read more

Every restaurant has got their own little spin on broth, but this is the first place that I have added NOTHING. That's right ladies and gentlemen, I eat my Phò naked here. Anything would just be adulterous addition to their broth. I found this place through a friend who spent a significant amount of time in Vietnam, assumingely he had a great time and some great Phò. After sharing some meals here with he and his wife, who is from Vietnam, they told me that this is the ONLY place to go. I'm so happy that they shared their secret with me. I haven't been adventurous enough to try anything else of the menu. The Phò is just really that good. I can never being myself to order anything else. read more

I love the fried rice and sandwiches from here!! However, my last visit wasn't the best. My boyfriend rice plate came out cold so we asked for a refund. I got the large pho with flat noodle and by the time the noodle separated, it was short but taste alright. I took couple bites and after we left about 5-10 mins. My stomach started hurting and I was having headaches. I couldn't sleep at all that night. Turns out I got food poisoning. They were mixing up different orders & serving it to the wrong tables. The service is also extremely slow & the food is overpriced for what you get. At one point, this was my secret place. This was absolutely the only place I would order pho from. The broth was uniquely flavorful with spices up until they changed the menu. Their menu use to be simple and straight to the point only giving you one option of pho (rib eye pho). They recently changed their menu giving you more options of bowls, but it's not the same anymore. It's cleaner than most other pho shops. Sometimes you'll get a wift of cigarette smoke , but wouldn't be too bad. Service is usually really nice. I would rate a 5 if they didn't change their pho recipe :(. read more

Many of my family and friends come here to eat and I just go along, but after today's experience I will be sure to steer clear of a place who feels their customers are disposable and there will always be more. The first bad experience they completely forgot about our table with a party of 6, did not take our orders and when they did bring our food the order was wrong. Not to mention they have served my husbands rice plate with old rice. The sandwich we ordered to go was sour. 2nd experience AGAIN ignores our party of 5, no water, no acknowledgement of our table, the guests who came after us were served first and when asked for the supervisor on duty to address the poor customer service they refused us that right... Half the time they don't understand or speak English... then get upset at us for making simple requests like no meats in our fried rice... truly disappointing Sad part about this review is they probably don't care read more

Most employees here don't speak much English but the last time I was there a really nice employee (perhaps the owner) made some menu suggestions and made good small talk.
