I've been hesitant to try this chain since we have so many amazing local Mediterranean places in the city. However, I gave it a try for quick and casual lunch and it honestly impressed me! I got the steak Mediterranean bowl, which I was heavily skeptical of at first, but it was large chunks of juicy and flavorful steak souvlaki. It was also a very generous bowl with lots of substance and toppings. I can definitely see this place becoming a lunch staple!

I was craving Nick the Greek for the longest time. Luckily, I was staying over at a friend's apartment nearby and it was a 5 minute walk to get to Westlake Plaza. I got the Gyro Bowl with Pork Belly which was very good. A generous portion of pork belly complimented the rice, vegetables, and sauces. I also used the app to redeem a free dessert. I've never had the Froyo so I opted to try it. It was also very good. I wasn't expecting it to be a more yogurt like flavor but the chocolate paired with it very well. Definitely worth trying.

Solid spot! I get the Chicken Gyro bowl with no onions. The yogurt is fresh and seasoned well, there is plenty of chicken in the bowl and they give extra cucumbers if you ask. The fries are also amazing, so crisp! The inside is big with plenty of seats, and even a few outside tables. This is my lunch spot for sure! Just beware of the parking, the parking lot can be chaotic. read more

Probably the crappiest "greek" fries I've ever had - they were stale, not hot and fresh, and tasted like they had been fried and sat out for a few hours. They also lacked the signature garlic that makes greek fries what they are... just some cold cheese was all I could taste. We actually ordered Nicks Fries which are supposedly even more loaded and it was so disappointing bc it was so mediocre. With a falafel protein top, it was like one piece of falafel broken to bits and deeply refried. The salad I wanted did not come with protein - which was dumb - so you pay ~$13 for the salad then an extra $5 just to get protein to add to the already skimpy salad (its mostly just leaves), to make it a half filling meal. Mine was supposed to be a mix of kale and romaine, and mine barely had a touch of kale. Very light on dressing as well. Would not get again, waste of money. My friend got a bowl and hers was mostly filled w/ rice so again they just fill w/ carbs to keep it cheap. Nothing was impressive. don't recommend. read more

Mom was craving a burger when we decided to check out Nick the Greek. Mom ordered the burger, while I ordered the Beefteki and kiddo ordered the Beef/Lamb Gyro bowl. We added on the combo of fries and a drink to our meals as well. When our food was ready, they brought it to our table which was nice. Mom didn't care for the feta and had to take out some lettuce so she could bite into it, but noted she thought it was a good burger. As for the beefteki, the pita was soft and the tzatziki added to the flavor profile. The fries were crispy. Kiddo is a big eater and he found the gyro bowl to be quite filling. Overall, we enjoyed our meals and the prices were reasonable. I'd like to try their chocolate dipped frozen yogurt next time. read more

A platter of grilled shrimp that was like something I've never tasted before, and yet is was familiar as Good Cooking from Magical Hands. The babaganouj was hands down one of the best I've ever had, smoky and held together in a creamy constitution and not watery. They make their own pita, phenomenal garden salads, Chicken breast kebabs, lamb and beef. I don't eat the last two, but everyone said that they were delicious. All I know is that the catered event had everyone inquiring about the source of the food. The following day I ordered catering for an office event. Don't cheat yourself. Try this full flavored and expertly crafted cooking. Someone whispered that the chef was from Yemen, but I can't verify. What I can verify is that the food is HALALICIOUS!!!

We requested the beef be cooked medium rare, but when we got home, it was closer to well done. Unfortunately, the beef was quite tough and difficult to eat. We were hungry after our hike, so we ate it anyway, but it was disappointing. The falafel dinner was a little better, though nothing particularly memorable. I was surprised given the high ratings, but after reading more reviews afterward, I noticed others had also mentioned that the meat can be overcooked. Since we usually order takeout, I probably wouldn't return because it's too much of a gamble if the meat isn't cooked as requested. It's unfortunate, as the restaurant was busy and seemed well-liked, but this visit didn't live up to our expectations.

I love the fact that they just didn't dump some jarred garlic on top of some french fries and call it done. Nope these are the real deal. The staff is friendly and I'm glad that I took the recommendations. The store itself is filled with everything you could possibly want. I had originally stopped in to grab a drink, but they literally have things from chips, candy, to grocery items. I love this experience. The original plan was to grab some lunch items at Whole Foods, but who doesn't want to try a new restaurant?! Walking into the restaurant, it's a little unclear if you order the counter and they bring you food or if you're seated and you order at the table. We quickly figured out that your order at the counter and then grab one of the tables and they will bring you your order. I found the restaurant to be unkept, and most of the tables that did not have customers sitting at them were super dirty. The tables hadn't been cleaned from the previous customer/customers. We had already ordered and it was that quick mental conversation of are we expected to clean the table so that we can dine there or what. Thankfully, a bus boy appeared, and he didn't seem overly eager to want to clean the table that we were standing at but instead wanted to clean one that someone was dining at. It was kind of odd. He took a couple of swipes at the table and it really just removed the food that someone had dropped all over the table. Just not a comforting feeling when you know that you'll be dining in that same spot. Our food came out fairly quickly, and I was super excited to have a good meal. We ordered the lunch special, which included a lentil/garbanzo, bean side, CTM ( chicken, tikka masala), rice, and naan. We ordered one mango lassi to share because we figured it was easier to try it, then order too much. You can always order more, right?! The mango lassi was very underwhelming. It locked through mango flavor, and that hint of tanginess. I just felt like I was drinking warm mango juice. I definitely have had better. With the lunch plate, we upgraded the naan to the cheese naan. I love carbs like anyone else does, but I found this to be basically bread that someone had put curry flavor in with a couple of cubes of cheese. So basically curry powdered bread. Yuck. The CTM, I found the chicken to be very sparse in terms of the portion size, and the chicken was very rubbery. It was overcooked, and I specifically had asked for little to no spice. Apparently that request was ignored. The lentil and garbanzo beans were tasty, but the garbanzo beans were undercooked, incredibly hard, and the flavor profile was really weird. It couldn't decide if it was supposed to be spicy, spicy, and salty, or something in between. The rice was OK. It had far too much fenugreek in it, and again the flavor profile, even combined with the CTM just was a little offputting. The guy behind the counter was fairly friendly, but it wasn't that warm and inviting friendliness. Is this a place I would go back to? No, not at all The one thing that I really enjoyed was the artwork on the walls.

Came here specifically for the Dry Pot, a brothless version of hot pot where everything gets stir…read morefried and simmered together. Noodles, meats, veggies, chiles, aromatics. No water, just pure concentrated flavor. The restaurant gets its name from simmering, one of the essential Chinese cooking techniques, and you can taste that philosophy across the whole menu. The Dry Pot lived up to the hype, but the real surprise was the skewers. Beef, lamb, and chicken, intensely flavorful and rich. I can't stop thinking about them. The potstickers were also way better than expected. Usually a throwaway order at most places, but here they were juicy and packed with flavor. The beef pancakes were fantastic. Golden and crispy on the outside, juicy flavor bomb on thes inside. Both crunchy and a little chewy (in the good way). Came back a few weeks later with friends and ordered the whole grilled fish, which I'd been eyeing since my first visit. It looked magnificent, but it didn't really pop the way the other dishes did. If you love fish it's worth trying, but the dry pot, skewers, beef pancakes, and dumplings are the stars here. We also got a few veggie dishes which were all great accompaniments...but nobody is here for the veggies. A few practical notes. They have a beer tap but it doesn't work, so if you're into beer, they've got a few options by the bottle. Parking is easy since it's in the Serramonte Center, and you can combine it with a trip to Jagalchi, Target, or whatever else you need. Both times I came there was plenty of seating. I'll be back soon, and next time I'm getting the dry pot with their handmade noodles.

I tried this place one the first on their grand opening! I was really good! i then decided to take my family to this place! The girls at the place are much nicer and have great customer service! The men here do not! I wanted to order so I called this curly hair guy but he ignored me ! he was way to busy talking to girls and flirting with them to even see that their are customers waiting to order. After my order. I found a hair in my beef dish. i them asked the lady if she can exchange it for a new on and she told me to wait because she getting the "owner" .once the owner came he told me that he see no hair in my food. YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THE WHITE HAIR SITTING ON TOP OF MY FOOD! He then had the audacity to say "You type of people only want free food"!!! WHAT!!!!!! That was the rudest thing a OWNER can say to his PAYING CUSTOMERS! i will never come here again!!! I also saw on of the "CHEIF" itch his butt and then make food!!!! read more

Awesome new greek spot tgat just opened today. Since I am half greek/ german and work around the corner wanted to give it a try. Im picky with greek food since I had it so many times in greece so did not have huge expectations. First impression: friendly owner...once inside order went quick. A line behind me formed quickly...kitchen was super busy. I waited inside until george ( maybe manager) approched me to check on my number. Super awesome customer service and a 10 in my book for george for checking. A few min later i got my food. Now the most important part: it is delicious, super tasty!!! Got the souflaki and the are probably the closest to greek souflaki i have had outside of greece. Gyro wrap with fries is amazing. Gonna try the beef teki next time. Overall super impressed by the food, and once things calm down ans kitchen works smoother, the food will come out little faster im sure. Overall...10 out of 10! read more

We're so glad this place just opened last week in DC at Westlake and close to SF. We've eaten at other Nick the Greek's in south and east bay. So now we can frequent this great place closer to home. I like that it's casual dining - just order, sit down (or take it to go) and eat. They also have outdoor seating. We ordered lamb & beef gyros wrap (they put fries inside!) and pork belly wrap plus side of felafel. The pork belly was meaty and wasn't too fatty. All were delicious! They're generous with the meats so that's a plus. Prices were reasonable - wraps were under $10 each! We plan to try their plates next time! read more

I've only been there twice, but the service has always been excellent. They are kind and patient. The food is fine; I've had certain dishes that I enjoyed and others that were adequate but not exceptional. However, this could simply be a matter of personal preference and taste. It's always been spotless, and it's never been overcrowded. This results in a quieter, more peaceful environment, which is pleasant. I'd recommend it if you want to try something new! read more

The employees there were rude and impolite. I'm just here to pick up my order. No need to give me an attitude. I can get gyros at any other place that tastes a million times better and is more authentic with actual customer service. Nick the Greek is an okay chain, but it is nothing special. Nick the Greek is one of the best names for this restaurant. The Chicken Pita is delicious with just the right amount of sauce. The Gyros are good too. Could have used a little more tzatziki sauce. Not too high of a wait and we ate outside. Would go back. read more

The food was okay. We have so many Greek food options in the area that are much better like Inshallah Mediterranean Cuisine (hidden gem) or Mykonos Meze (nice dining atmosphere). Just two examples of local and much more authentic. read more

Here now at Nick The Greek Daly City, Fresh Greek salad and Gyro Plate are my favorites here, especially with the delicious tzatziki sauce. Great service and a clean dining room made the experience even better. read more
