We ordered online and spent enough money to qualify for a free baklava - which was tasty, too. Delicious! We needed a dinner place that was open after 8 PM, luckily Nick the Greek is open till 10 PM on Saturdays. I ordered the souvlaki plate with chicken and rice, he had the gyro plate with beef and fries. Pita: buttered, garlic-salted, and grilled. I would come here and just get a handful of this bread if I had a bad day and needed a snack. Chicken: It reminded me of chicken tikka in texture and flavor? Well cooked, still tender, with a nice char. As noted later, not a lot of seasoning but with so many other strong flavors from the rice, pita, onions, tomatoes, and sauce I preferred it this way! Rice: Well flavored and yellow. Nice side accompaniment. Greek side salad: Mostly lettuce, with some feta and two really good olives. Fries: Nicely seasoned, but oddly pale? Did not stop me from snitching them from my husband's plate when he wasn't looking... Beef: Good seasoning, "more flavor than your chicken" according to him haha Would definitely recommend, and we'll be back when we're in the neighborhood. read more

For being a chain they have really great food it is on the pricer end of things. I got their lamb gyro with a side of hummus and pita bread. The food was very delicious and was stuffed after getting a gyro with hummus and pita bread. I opted to get their soup which was a greek chicken and lemon wasn't a big fan of that. I have not been to Greece, but in my hometown of Toronto, Ontario we have a huge Greektown and it is tremendous, some say nearly as good as going to Athens. I don't expect this place to be like that, in fact, I expect it to be more of a western style type of Greek cuisine. It is fast food as well, so you'd expect service to be that of a Chipotle, which was next door. So, I walked in and saw a nice picture of a typical Greek salad. It has the usual suspects on it, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, onions, feta, maybe some Tzatiki.....so I thought I ordered a Greek salad. But what I got was the saddest thing. Basically, it was a gyro, pita and some spinach and greens. I was like "what the hell did I get", enough to the point that I went on their website and noticed that I got a gyro "salad". The gyro was fairly tough, stringy and nearly tasteless (where's the spice), the bread felt a bit stale and the greens.... well, it's spinach and arugula, probably from a bag. This is not Greek food to me and I was sadly disappointed, I guess I should have read the fine print (was there fine print? I'm not sure....I just remember a picture). If you order what I ordered, you are basically getting a deconstructed gyro sandwich, so you might as well give get that...as it is probably cheaper and they probably give you fries as well (as well as tomatoes, onions, tzatziki....you know stuff that goes in the typical Greek style salad. However, it might have been maybe a three-star rating if it hadn't taken me over 20 minutes to get my food. There was no line, they were serving #13 and I was #16 when I ordered. While KC is not really known for Greek restaurants, there are some good ones you should go to. The best in town is of course Jerusalem Cafe and I had a good experience at Mr. Gyros and thought Yafa Cafe was pretty good as well. Man, just thinking about how bad of a food experience I had here, I really wish I had moved one door to the left and gone to Chipotle instead. read more

Plenty of Lamb (or beef or chicken etc) meat. 7 - 8 pieces of Triangle Pita Sliced 1/2 tomato slices Red onion pieces Savory yellow rice better than any average-ish Mexican restaurant. A small light cardboard container filled over the brim, of salad with tomato chunks, red onion, some pit-less olives, a LOT of feta (sweet) and a nice dressing that wasn't drowning the salad. Portion (thankfully due to 20$ price) was More than enough for one meal and I now have 2 left over containers. Lamb was steaming hot and tasty, Feta on the salad and the tomatoes and other parts seemed pretty fresh and were tasty! Rice was surprisingly good, pita pieces were warmed unlike in other places. Tasso's, and Mr Gyro's, ..... look out - you have some competition, but way far away from their locations. read more

My son and I got the chicken souvlaki pita and my husband got the chicken souvlaki plate. Everyone was happy with their food! Service was great: quick and efficient! My lady and I often have the discussion about where to dine and we end up ruling out many places(she is gluten free.) On our travels thru the KC metro we dialed up Nick the Greek and decided to stop by with the grandkids in tow. The place was super clean, the counter staff was helpful, and the food was fresh and fast. We ordered the following: -Greek Salad with Chicken -Chicken Souvlaki plate -2 kids plates with beef and fries A couple of the entrees came with Pita and Tzatziki sauce. Overall the food and service were excellent and the value was solid. It was great walking away from the experience and not feeling like we'd eaten food that was sub-par or unclean. Food was amazing and service is so sweet. And the atmosphere was so chill. I hadn't had their froyo before but the cashier gave me a small sample with honey and baklava and it is AMAZING. It was not what I was expecting at all. It just actually tastes like your morning yogurt with honey granola but sweeter, frozen, and sooooooo addictive. I recently met some friends from work here for lunch. I had heard raving reviews from others, so I was really looking forward to giving it a try! Although I saw all the typical Greek and Mediterranean options on offer, I honed in on something a little more atypical, but right up my alley: a Gyro "Bowl"! Beef & lamp gyro meat? Check! Greek veggies? Check! Feta cheese? Check! Tzatziki and spicy yogurt sauce? Check! Add basmati rice, and you have your gyro bowl! The gentleman taking our order was kind and cracked a couple well-timed jokes while we made our selections - quite charming! About four minutes after taking our seat, smack in the middle of lunch rush, we were served our VERY large gyro bowls! I got mine with beef/lamb protein, and wifey got the same but with falafel! We also shared some Greek fries. Everything was MASSIVE! Four of us worked on the cheesy Greek fries, and STILL had a little left over! Wifey and I were barely able to get half our gyro bowls down after working on the fries, but those made for FANTASTIC leftovers! While we dined in the clean, bright and fresh dining room, a manager checked in on us no less than five times in 45 minutes! He, too, made a couple charming remarks, outside the typical "how's-the-food?" asks! He was able to grab a couple ready-fit lids for wifey's and my bowls, and we were set! I enjoyed the tasty food, fast service and nice dining area during my grand opening dine-in lunch experience. My number was called on this busy day just a few minutes after I ordered at the counter thanks to the efficient kitchen. The gyro plate ($14.95) included a side salad, choice of meat, choice of rice or french fries, tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, onions and lemon wedges. The chicken kebabs had plenty of pieces of moist, flavorful meat while the fries were meaty and not too greasy but a little too salty for my palate. I liked the clean, nicely decorated and new dining area with Greek background music (maybe a notch too loud). I was surprised to see that so many dishes at this Greek restaurant included french fries, with french fries in the gyros. Iced tea would be a good addition to their standard soda beverages.
