I have been on a bagel fix lately so I decided to stop by Nick's Bagels for the first time. The shop is located in the same plaza as Stater Bros and look for the Bagels & Espresso signage. The interior is small with a few tables for dine in. Upon arriving around 10:30am, I was disappointed to see that they were already limited in stock. They were sold out on plain and sesame bagels which are always the crowd favorite. I browsed through the display case and didn't see anything good. I ended up ordering the cream cheese, avocado on a toasted everything bagel. Not sure if I received "a day old" bagel but it was rock hard. The inside was very dry which was a sign it was not fresh. The cream cheese was not thick but very runny. The avocado slices were turning brown. Overall, it was a totally bad. After seeing all these good reviews about this shop, it's sad to say it did not match up. I wasn't expecting a soft and chewy New York style bagel but this was ridiculous. read more

She waited patiently as my bf and I figured out what we wanted to eat. The inside is smallish, around 3-4 tables.They have fridge that has a variety of drinks if you aren't a coffee person. They have a cute little board where you can put your business card (free ad space thats awesome!) for locals. I got the everything bagel with cream cheese, avocado & tomato with lemon pepper seasoning. My bf got the lox bagel, lots of onion :). All I can say is that Nicole K is barking up the wrong tree. She should be sued for defamation and slander. Nick's Bagels Supervisor is an extremely hard working employee. I work in the healthcare industry snd am very careful about where I dine. What I like about Nick's is that the food is prepared right behind the counter. This is in very close proximity to where the customer's have a great view. I do not appreciate this Nicole K making these false allegations. Nick is a Christian owner who hires employees that are wholesome with integrity. My daughter took me to this bagel shop two days ago and I was so disappointed to get a bagel, so small and stale. You can easily tell the bagel was not fresh! It was so rough, obviously they do not throw out their bagels at the end of each dayThey reuse them the next day for sure... Prices are more expensive than Shirley's bagels in Newport. I live in Fullerton, but I still have to drive to Newport to get some bagels from Shirley's. I still haven't found any shop as good as them here in Fullerton. We're on the hunt after moving from the east coast to find a good bagel. Besides the service, lack of stock, food safety issues and failure to adhere to indoor COVID rules, the bagels just weren't that great. First and foremost - ~$4 for a standard bagel with cream cheese? Are you guys crazy? These were almost definitely pre-made frozen bagels and not made in house so there is no justification for this price. Second, you need to ask people if they want their bagels toasted, it should not be the default. Finally, how are there only a dozen bagels left at 11:30a on the weekend? It's wild to me that you are essentially out of product an hour and a half before you close. Besides the food and the price, we had multiple issues right after placing our order. Before you walk in there is a sign that states masks are required, which is fine and I have no problem with that at all (it's also the law in CA right now). I do have a problem however when the employees do not have to adhere to said policy. What's with the double standard? One employee specifically (male with a ponytail) did not have a mask on and was preparing food with no gloves on. The other employees were eating and drinking behind the counter and checking their phones instead of working on our order. The group that ordered multiple sandwiches after us received their food before we did (we ordered some bagels with cream cheese, nothing complicated). Two stars because the food was edible. Bagel sandwich was great! But the cappuccino was subpar. For a place with espresso in the name, I had high expectations, but the cappuccino was all foam and the overall drink was underwhelming. Nice chew to them, and probably one of my favorite bagels of all time. When I come here, I usually get the sausage breakfast bagel. This is a hearty meal, and they do no go cheap on the sausage. This thing is loaded. As for bagels, depending on my mood, I usually get the jalepeno or everything bagel. I haven't tried a bagel here I did not like. If you are getting a bagel sandwich, they make everything fresh and from scratch using really good ingredients. The owner is here all the time. He's super nice and friendly. The service here is great, and all the workers are really on point and nice. As for the ambiance, it's a bagel shop. It's what you would expect from a bagel shop. Overall, the food here is great. The plain bagels were pretty good but the Cinnamon Raisin ones have had to have been from a few days ago. If youre gonna run a shop that has the word bagels in it, the bagels should be fresh. Hard as a rock. Nick should be ashamed of himself. Cant wait for albersons to start selling fresh bagels again. This place is a joke, never coming back. The reason people go to Bakeries and Bagel shops, as opposed to buying pre packaged baked goods or bagels from a store shelf is primarily to get fresh made product.
