I've only been once but the spacious seating, inside and out is worth the trip. Views on the water is perfection. The fact my food was good is a bonus. Our waitress and servers were excellent. She was attentive. We never felt neglected. In fact, we paid and didn't immediately leave the table. We sat for almost 10 minutes. In spite of a line, we were not rushed. I didn't try the scallops, my favorite - they were a bit pricey at $40 for a dinner entree. However, the fish sandwich and fries were perfect for an early dinner. It's a wonderful experience- I almost want to keep this place all to myself! There was a low point and that was what was supposed to be coleslaw. I brought half my sandwich home. Great view, great food, and great service. We were there the Friday before Memorial Day late afternoon and were seated quickly (with a high chair). The place is a couple miles away from inner harbor, off an unassuming side street leading to a dock. (It looks like there is construction for high rises soon though.) You get a great view of the boats on the water. The service is quick and pleasant, with runners and waiters working seamlessly together. We got the cream of crab soup, a Mac and cheese with fries for the toddler, snow crab legs pot, and a crab cake sandwich with fries... too much food for the 3 of us. Can't beat the views and food here! I came here a lot when I lived in Baltimore. It was a real treat to dine here again with some friends :) I got the boom boom shrimp appetizer which was great! Perfect for a scenic and more traditional Baltimore meal! Came in tonight with some colleagues. We would have love to sit outside and take in the views of the water, but it was about 95+ out and inside was a better option for the weather. The dining room didn't disappoint with its large windows. However if you're looking to chat, it may not be the best option. It was a little loud and the folks in the middle of our 6 top often had to repeat what was said to our friends on the ends. But if you're looking for a crab cake ... YES! We got a pretty decent cake packed with crab meat, really good coleslaw that wasn't over done, and plenty of fries. 5/6 of us ordered that while the other ordered the salmon over rice, which she said was good! We split the steamed shrimp which I loved! The seasoning is definitely a little spicy so if you're not into that you may consider passing. We didn't do the steamed crabs, but almost every other table was! They looked amazing! Service was good, nothing to complain about there. Not bad. Came here on a Saturday and the place was packed (I forgot it was crab season). The wait was about 30-40 minutes long before we got seated. We ordered the Maryland mule (which is made with Rye instead) and two appetizers (brussel sprouts and crab balls) all three were delicious. Then came the entrees. I got the fried oysters with mac and cheese and garlic spinach. Let's start with the oysters, they were fried beautifully (not too greasy or soggy) but my goodness were they bland! They definitely need to season the batter and maybe even add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper. Now on to the mac and cheese...TERRIBLE. It looked, and tasted, as though it had been sitting out since the morning. The cheese was all dry and hard, the sauce (or roux) was all thick and plastic looking. You can tell it wasn't made fresh within the last hour or two. Overall, they're ok. I'd go back for the crab balls and cake. read more

In regards to the environment, the restaurant is located alongside the Patapsco River and we had beautiful views. You have the options to eat inside or outside. Outside be prepared to see some ducks walking around. Everyone was very attentive to include our server. We had their blue crabs and they were delicious! They were also very fresh, the meat was so sweet, by far my favorite type of crabs. I highly also recommend their crab cakes which is what they are known for! How could you deny business by a stupid 2 hours limit at a ?. My family and I were visiting from New Jersey, found this place a year ago looking for Bo Brooks replacement, it was ok to get our crabs in a different ambiance than our fav LP Steamers. We are regulars at LP and waiters fight for us (tip well) and this time around I wanted my sister to have a different experience with live music. As we are ready to order more "pricey crabs", we were told that there's a 2 hours max per table. If we want the crabs only to go or seat at the bar. So you missed probably around $400 or $ 500 more with your watery drinks for 3 people only. I don't mind paying for good food and service. I'll stick to LP Steamers. They know me well, they even saved my Mom's sweater for a year until they saw her again. Good luck! read more

Highly recommend you make a reservation or come right when the place is open. We overheard a family who returned for lunch because Nick's was full for dinner the day before. Jumbo Crab (Dozen for $150) - Worth the price! We grabbed the last dozen of the Jumbo crabs and were so happy! You get lump juicy crab meat with a hint of spice from the old bay/cajun seasoning. Fresh Ahi Tuna - Great appetizer to start. This showcases the freshness of the fish and is shareable with the table. Flash Fried Calamari - Another great appetizer to share! Perfectly fried calamari without a thick batter. You can totally tell these are fresh and not frozen. Steamed Mussel in White Wine Sauce - Fresh mussels, but the white wine sauce was a bit bland. I wish they added more garlic to add more flavor. Steamed Clams in Cajun Butter Sauce - Huge fresh clams in a buttery, spicy sauce. This really adds a kick to the meal. One of my wife and oldest daughter's favorite seafood shack in Baltimore. Located next to a marina, it had a fantastic waterfront view. Plenty of seatings with a spacious indoor dining room and an extremly large heated outdoor tent. Parking was easy with a large free parking lot. We started with a large crab stuffed pretzel. There was a good amount of delicious crab meat, but the pretzel could be warmer. The salty pretzel complemented the crab meat well. For our entrée, my wife had the 1/2 crab soup and 1/2 cream of crab. The soup was delicious, but not much crab meat. My daughter went with fried oyster plate with fries and coleslaw. The oysters were large and nicely fried with beer batter, I think. I tried one and it was juicy and full of oyster flavor. The fries were delicious, but the coleslaw was naked and bland. Coleslaw needed mayo or vinegar dressing. My plate of steamed half pound of mussels and half pound of clams in chipotle lime sauce was absolutely delicious. The fresh shellfish was steamed perfectly and that sauce was so addicting. I was dipping bread, crackers, and fries in that sauce. Prices were very reasonable for the high quality seafoods. A 3 minus Good service Table was sticky. A bit noisy Crab stuffed giant ny style pretzel app was pretty decent and filling. We also ordered a dozen Chesapeake oysters on the half shell. The oysters were warmish and really a bit dry lacking the delicious oyster liquor. The flavor was slightly metalic or tinny. No briny deliciousness of the sea. The oysters were flat and large. Theae ousters were ready for the smoker or cannery, not top shelf restaurant quality. Not the best oysters and certainly not what i was expecting from a place w/ a decent yelp rating. We had a dozen large Steamed crabs. Our server told us thats all they had left. (RED FLAG) The crabs came out slightly under cooked. Two of our crabs were a bit fishy and seemed as thought they may have been dead before being cooked. Seemed like we were the last seating around 730-8pm. Maybe make sure u come earlier? Not sure. Also there was at least one bar customer who appeared to have been over served. Hetook a spill near the restroom.
