Walked in wasn't greeted by the cashier she just stood there then another man walked in right behind me and happened to be white received a greeting he even had to tell the cashier I was there before him and to take my order. So I just left if I can't even get a greeting why should you deserve your money. read more

Best pizza in Ferndale. The owners and staff are extremely nice and the service is always fast. They are also working on adding more vegetarian options to their menu. Not all of their vegetarian options are listed on their current menu, so make sure to ask about them when you call. My wife and I loved the spinach, tomato and oregano pizza... so yummy. I created a Yelp account just to write this! The place was the bomb...we ordered daiya cheese in our calzone with jalapeños and mushroom. We also got the jalapeño cheese bread with daiya. We tried it soon after it opened and it's our go-to for pizza in Ferndale. They deliver and everyone who we've dealt with there is incredibly friendly. I haven't tried the round, only deep dish and it is very good. Similar to Jets but the service compared to our nearest Jets is so much better. read more

I have grown up on Nick's pizza. I won't say how long that is because a girl doesn't tell her age. My kids have grown up on it also and I was sad to see them leave Hazel Park but glad they are closer to us in Royal Oak now that they are in Ferndale. We love their pizza and would drive over 8 miles one way to have it for dinner when they were in Hazel Park. Their pizza is always delicious and anytime I have had an issue the owner has went above and beyond to take care of it. It is always ready on time. The flavors are just perfect. We ordered the anitpasto salad and a small square pizza. I like their online ordering system - very easy to use. Delivery was fast and the driver was really friendly. Loved the salad - great dressing and a solid amount of toppings. However, the square pizza left a lot to be desired. The crust was flimsy and not at all crunchy like you'd expect from a square pie. The toppings were fine, but overshadowed by the lackluster crust. I'd try some of their other items, but I won't be ordering their pizza again. read more

We have been ordering from Nick's Pizza since we moved to this neighborhood --actually since it was Dan Good pizza a few years ago. That said, their pizza is good, the cheese bread is ridiculous and their salads are yummy too. They have a lot of specials and they will tell you about them even if you don't have a coupon. Also they are very customer service oriented in my experience. Tonight they forgot our extra pizza sauce. I am a girl who likes my sauce, so I called them and they brought over 4 extra pizza sauces and a Pepsi. The manager even offered to remake the entire order but I didn't want to waste food so I just asked for the sauce and I got it within 15 minutes. Not many places will do that. read more

Recently moved to the area. Tonight we ordered a steak and cheese grinder and instead of green peppers we requested roasted red peppers.The grinder was insanely delicious, the roasted red peppers made the grinder really special. Two strikes - you're out! The food is actually not bad, the experience leaves a lot to be desired. The second experience is what will have me never come back. They advertise on their website that they are open on Fridays until 11pm. I called at 10:35 and was asked if I can get there in the next 10 minutes, and told if not, that I shouldn't bother ordering. You can do the math, that's 10:45. Why on earth would a business advertise that they are open until a certain time but tell you when you call to order that they are closing earlier? A business like that clearly doesn't need or want my business very much. There are simply too many other options out there to bother ever supporting a business with my hard-earned money that demonstrates that they don't really value my business. The first bad experience was waiting on hold over 5 minutes to place an order. I can't imagine that they have enough lines to place people on hold that long - After all, how long does it take to take an order? So, I don't really care how good your food is if your customer service is this ridiculously poor. read more

As I said in my first review, I would be coming back to try out the Chicago Style pizza served at Nick's Pizza. As it turns out, there are 3 types of Chicago style pizza, classic deep dish, stuffed, and a thin crust pizza cut into squares. I really like 2 of the three types; the classic deep dish, and the thin crust. It's unfortunate though that I'm actually luke warm about the stuffed, meaning I could take it or leave it. Of course this is the type that Nick's serves. However, I refuse to lower my rating for this restaurant, simply based on that. Their traditional pizza still has that wow factor that will keep me coming back for more, and I'm good with that. The service is great, the people are friendly, and as said, their traditional style pizza has that "Wow" factor. read more

We have been going to Nick's Pizza on 9 Mile since it took over this location. Nick's Pizza is pickup or carry out. They don't have a cheap $5 pizza and they don't have your over priced gourmet pizza. They do use quality ingredients, have great service, and consistently good product at a good price. We have not picked up a pizza or cheese bread here that disappointed us. The service is the best around. Make sure you get two orders of cheese stix. One to eat on the drive home and one for everyone else. Give the Chicago Style pizza a try the second or third time you order from there. Don't rush into it. It's filling. Be sure to check out their weekday coupons in their flyer for extra savings. Nick's Pizza has replaced the Hungry Howie's, Little Caesars, and Papa Romanos for us. The others just don't produce a good product with good service everytime. Nick's Pizza is everything you'd expect from a pickup or carryout pizza place. read more

Today...on the way home from seeing an ill friend in Beaumont, we stopped in our favorite pizza place---Nick's. Today, the girl helping out making pizza...had hair hanging all over the place and standing right on side of the owner...we saw her collect money, play with her hair, rub her bare hand across her hair and nose, talk on the phone...and NOT ONCE did she wash her hands. We had asked the girl for specific crust, and only received it on 1 pizza...Maybe it was a hot day in there and people weren't doing their best...but then when we got home...1 pizza was a medium.... Hubby says NO MORE NICKS....that place is a law suit waiting to happen. read more
