I was pleasantly surprised when I finally tried Nick's tonight. I'd been curious since I moved to Glenbrook 6 months ago but the outer appearance and lack of glowing yelp reviews kept me away. I got the Carciofini salad and tortellini Alfredo (I felt like being a fatty). The salad was the bomb. Thinly sliced artichoke, fennel, arugula and a light lemony dressing. The tortellini Alfredo was buttery and rich. Prices were moderate. I will definitely return to try some of the other dishes. read more

I had a pizza craving the other night just as I passed Nick's. As I finished my errands, I called Nick's, placed an order and picked up my pie. $13 for a large (maybe 16 inches?)...not bad. The crust actually had some yeasty flavor that many pizza places don't allow to develop. Sauce was flavorful...cheese was OK (they could step it up a bit by using a higher quality...but of course that would (understandably) raise the price...so maybe better to leave well enough alone). It's been a while since I went to Nicks...we used to be regulars when the kids were small but, truth be told, we went mostly becuase it was kid friendly and not just a diner...the food was never too impressive. Based on my new pizza experience, I'd happily give them another chance for 'real' food. Bottom line: Next pizza craving...I'm going to Nicks. I might even stop in for a chicken parm one day soon. read more

I've had the delivery many times and always thought it was average at best. Today I went to the actual restaurant for the first time, and ordered a Nick's special (meatball, sausage, pepperoni, green pepper, mushrooms, and onion) and it was FANTASTIC, so I'd recommend it if you like this "supreme" style... It was also much thinner than I'm used to with Nick's. I've also had some lukewarm leftover slices of their "white" pizza before and thought those were pretty darn good too. All in all, I recommend it, but I'm not totally sold on the consistency of the product nor their ability to deliver it (which is such a strange thing to claim, I know). I'll give the "special" pizza another try sometime and if it's as good as I remember it to be, I'll move the rating to 4 stars. read more

Been going there for ages.... I no longer live in Stamford, but do visit frequently, and every visit includes a stop at Nick's! I don't recall ever being disappointed with a meal there. Last time I was in I got manicotti, and it was delicious. And if all else fails and I can't decide, I go with the old standby, a Little Nick with pepperoni and onion! Perfection! Excellent pizza! When I get delivery they have caller ID and know exactly where I live. They quote me 30 minutes but I always get it in less than ten. It might help that I'm a good tipper. If you order a salad you also get little rolls made out of pizza dough and they are pretty tasty too. read more

I had a wedding rehearsal dinner here and could not be more satisfied. I have a wide variety of tastes in the family, some who love the simple, others who love more complex dishes. The restaurant suggested a great menu that everyone loved. I lived in Italy and the food Nick's Pizza prepared had that Old World feel that reminded me of eating out there. We had a very wonderful time and the waitstaff did a phenomenal job. I was very impressed given how many of us there were. While I was nervous about getting married and how my guests were doing, Nick's putting me at ease. I had eaten there lots of times individually, and was really impressed by what they can do for groups. Those who recommended Nick's to me after doing First Communion and Baptism parties were correct. I was APPALLED at how many workers were in the restaurant, walking back and forth just inches from me as i waited for my food. They wore masks, but seemed to be totally, completely unaware of the 6' social distancing mandate. A couple of guys were blocking the door to the bar area, standing a couple inches from each other. I had placed my order and paid over the phone so i could quickly run in, pick up my food and be out very quickly. Unfortunately, my food wasn't ready when i arrived (and i was 10 minutes later than the time they said it would be ready) so i had to wait. It was so horrible having those workers so close to me and to each other that i was tempted to leave without my food. Another customer came in and stood maybe 2' from me as i was finally handed my food. Really? Does anyone in Stamford understand how highly infectious and how easy to transmit this virus is? No wonder we have the highest numbers around. Idiots! Nick's, your food is good ($75 worth) but DEFINITELY not worth the risk you offer. I will never go back. read more

You seriously can't ask for anything better. I go to this place at least once a month, usually for pizzas, but I love their tortellini with meet sauce. The service here is wonderful, and I am ashamed that it took me this long to write them a review because they are honestly one of the few places that deserve it. I LOVE nicks! We live about a mile away and even when they tell us 45 minutes are food comes in 20! Very fast service and the food is always hot. I always ask for crispy crust and they have never gotten it wrong and the pizza is always tasty, some nights even better than others, but still never disappointing! We have also had their wedges, although not as good as the pizza, still good, and they always make the bread crispy upon request. A few times they have forgotten cheese on our garlic bread and have always sent us a free order of it and delivered it and have never given us a hard time for calling. read more

Stopped in here the other day for a margherita pie and spaghetti al pomodoro to take home. Takeout service was on point and had the food ready shortly after I came in. Not your typical 'cheese pie' here - nice pieces of mozzarella and a great tasting sauce over a thin, crispy crust. This is probably my favorite pizza place in Stamford. The owner's son, Nick, has taken full control and the place feels and looks like it's professionally run. Ambience is low key so I can bring my two kids there but also has a full stocked bar to bring the guys to party. Great place for a group. Mediocre at best. We have visited twice. Chicken cacciatore seemed to be made with watered down sauce. Linguini with clam sauce was definitely not fresh clams; taste was so so.
