Don't let the strip mall storefront fool you, this place is great! When you walk in the front door you immediately feel like you are in a small Italian restaurant in Firenze or on the East Coast. Plus, in good weather they have a delightful tree-shaded back patio for dining. My wife and I love Italian food and this is our go-to place when we are craving a delicious Italian meal. The food is authentic and so rich you will have trouble finishing your meal. The only problem is that Nicolette's is small and very popular, so getting a seat at prime time can be difficult. But don't be afraid to sit at the bar overlooking the kitchen. Watching the food being prepared is quite entertaining. Finally, if the restaurant is packed you can grab a take-and-bake item from their cooler and cook it at home. These items are almost as good as the hot meals at Nicoletta's. read more

Was here visiting from out of town for a wedding. Our family tried to come in for quick snack /late lunch. manager was rude, and unaccommodating. I understand with covid restrictions larger groups may be harder to accommodate, although she said that was not an issue. she was going to put us at the same table, which was great even though we did not need to all be at the same table. but she wanted us to wait until all of us were there, even though 90% of the party was there, (Waiting on 4 people). She gave a multitude of excuses of why we needed to wait, to which I explained we weren't all going to order at the same time anyways, and again said we were totally fine with not all sit together, since some would be coming and going at different times anyways. Let me add that there was not ONE SINGLE person in there yet besides us. I totally understand if they were short staffed which was one of the excuses of making us wait. But I've worked in the restaurant industry for over 15 years now, and that is something you as a restaurant and manger need to deal with. What would you do if multiple parties of 4, 2, 4, 3, 6, etc. all came in at the same time and you had a completely empty restaurant.... You'd seat them would you not? and your kitchen and staff would have to serve them. There's no difference. I don't understand why you would prefer to make people wait outside while they're staring at an empty restaurant.. at least sit them, explain you're short staffed that you'll do your best to accommodate them and ask them to please bare with your staff, but to make people wait outside while you have a COMPLETELY OPEN restaurant with not one person inside besides the staff?!?! makes no sense at all! Poor management and decision making skills on her part. Lost out on a $500 table. Instead we gladly went to DUKES PUBLIC HOUSE! Highly recommend that place. They kindly accommodated us, food was great, they were understaffed as well but service was still amazing! So all in all I'm glad this place did not work out! read more

Great fresh sandwiches and pasta. Also various pre-frozen entrees, which make great gifts for new parents. I like it better than the Port City Pasta Company that it replaces/bought out. Sandwiches are on house focaccia, with nice touches of cheese, onion, and coarse salt in the crust. A half sandwich ($5) is enough, a full ($8) is an indulgence. I'm partial to the turkey, but I also enjoy the "classico" of cured Italian meats, and (when tomatoes are in season) the caprese. I used to live in Boston, where fresh mozz is quite common, even in places without an Italian theme, far more so than in Oregon; it's nice to see it done well here. Also try the small but carefully chosen selections of grocery items, especially the olive oils when newly pressed in the fall. They had their own 2012 bottling that they source from the Italian grower, and two or three more options. Many days there's free samples out. I've gotten two very good balsamics, plus other vinegars, tapenade, anchovies, capers, etc. I haven't tried the wines yet, but there are easily 30 to chose from. Rating it 4 stars not because there's anything to complain about, it's just not as AMAZING as the top PDX eateries. It's a local standout, though: I haven't had a better sandwich in LO or West Linn. read more

I went here with my husband & toddler tonight, and WOW!! Just amazing!!! The chicken parm was OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious!! They were able to accommodate my toddler as well (as they don't have a kids menu). He got the spaghetti noodles with their marinara on the side (which by the way is amazing)! They sell the marinara in their marketplace & we bought 2 containers for a rainy day. We also got the dark chocolate mouse cake with salted Carmel buttercream & JAVFBFKEJF SO SO SO GOOD!!! I highly recommend this place. At first we weren't sure because there was no kids menu & their clientele is clearly older (we are 28 & 30 years old) we were the youngest there by at least 10-15 years. We felt like we wouldn't belong but the staff was great, our waiter was hilarious & went out of his way to be kind to our son, overall we had a great time & we will come back! read more

Nicoletta's was a grand find for our small group. Our dinner was top notch in preparation, and presentation. The service was friendly, personable, and attentive. Don't be fooled by the location- this is no normal strip mall eatery. The interior of Nicoletta's is expertly set up, with tables spaced appropriately apart, and an intimate traditional bar stretched along one side. The decor is a mixture of a European kitchen, garden, and a quaint shoppe. There is even an oven in the background covered in Pennies. We also noticed a private dining room in the back for larger groups. The whole dining experience for us here was just brilliant, and we will return! read more

I initially tried Nicoletta's because I had purchased a Goupon. It is one of the best places I've been in quite some time. When I went to pick up my to-go dinner I fell in love with the atmosphere. It has a cozy bistro feel combined with this feeling of being at a friend's house for dinner. (I don't know if that makes any sense.) I had the sausage & mushroom lasagna with focaccia bread a salad and macaroons. I was in heaven with all of its deliciousness. I can't wait to go back for lunch and try the panini's. read more

I made the mistake of ordering a pepperoni pizza that turned out to be the worst pizza I've ever had. No crust, soggy with cheese, no tomato sauce, way oversalted and generally not edible. To make it worse, it took 40 minutes from ordering to serving. Maybe their pasta dishes are ok but I'm not ever going back. Definitely a fan. The bread and a lot of the pasta is made in house. They both get constant raves from my gluten tolerant friends. The salads are well dressed and composed, the pasta dishes are properly sauced. The staff is attentive and bends over backward to be accommodating. It is hard not to order the spinach salad with added chicken. Perfect mix of cranberries, nuts, greens and protein. Just the right size for lunch and remaining active for the rest of the afternoon. GF Heads Up: They do offer GF noodles and many of the pasta dishes are available as a GF option. Pro Tip: Great for large parties and events. Very good bread basket and olive oil served upon seating. The wine selection isn't vast, but it isn't too bad and I was able to find a couple new ones to try. Keep in mind that this place is a combination cafe / marketplace / restaurant. As such, the noise-level can be a little louder than most, but I was still able to converse just fine with those I was seated with. The kitchen is pretty open to public view, which is refreshing and nice. I haven't been here enough times or tried enough items on the menu to really comment on the food. However, the pasta seems to be fresh and house-made. The sauces I believe are all made in-house as well. Prices aren't bad at all. I'd say ever-so-slightly cheaper than Bugatti's down the road, and a few dollars cheaper than Tucci's. But the overall quality of the food seems to be on-par. It is tucked, maybe even slightly hidden, in a strip mall - but don't let that dissuade you. Parking might be tricky during high-congestion times, but otherwise it is worth checking out. read more

Best Caesar salad around! Little bit of an anchovy tang without the actual anchovies. Not super garlicky but garlicky enough. Their pizza is absolutely perfect! We came here because another one of our thin crust favorites is temporary closed and this meets all the requirements.My husband loves the spinach salad with the buttery dressing. We stood at the counter and the Hostess was on the phone.. she said to wait and she would seat us. Then she walked away and employees watched us stand there and essentially ignored my Mother and I for 15 mins. When we finally were addressed she told us she had to clear a table and that we could not eat lunch because it was now 5 minutes past 2pm which was the end of their main lunch service. Funny I was inside the door around 0140pm. She walked away and still had not returned to seat us for another 5 minutes. We finally walked out the door. Who needs to start your meal so poorly. The food was good, service was crap. The servers were attempting to be accommodating at first but ended up being extremely rude. I think our servers name was Kelley, the food came out pretty slow and they never attended to our table of 7. We were charged 20% gratuity for everything, for drink tabs and to go orders even though the menu states 18% on order over 6 people. We came here for a work party and it just wasn't a great experience we won't come here again. We spent a good amount on our food probably 200$ and it just wasn't a good experience.
