The food here is very bad. I had the clam linguine and the clams were over cooked and they also left an unopened one in the dish, the flavor of the linguini was straight up salt and over salted at that. Totally inedible & I couldn't eat it. My partner had the halibut risotto and the fish was not seared and so dry and over cooked that he wanted to send it back, but ended up just not eating it either. That was a $40 dish. The last straw was the affogato for dessert - it was milky coffee, cheap tasting ice cream, loads of whipped cream, with HERSHEY's chocolate syrup smothered on. Extremely cheap tasting and we just couldn't get over the hersheys syrup on a $13 dessert coffee. It was also served in a parfait glass, family restaurant style. Wife and I were recently in Playa del Carmen on vacation on to celebrate our anniversary. We were unsure of were we were going to eat but settled on Nicoletta's. This was definitely a wise choice. From the moment we stepped in the staff was friendly and courteous. We did not have to wait long for our appetizer which was a pizza came out hit and fresh. When our main courses arrived everything was spot on and fresh. All of the food was great as was the service. The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxing even located right among the busiest areas of 5th Avenue. This restaurant has a great vibe and the food was pretty good. Not amazing, but good. My biggest problem was the service. Our waiter was not attentive. We had to constantly wave him over for coffee refills, or wanting to order more beverages. We had ordered appetizers, entrees, side dishes, cocktails, desserts and coffees. Many dirty dishes just sat on our table long after we were finished. They will add a 20% tip to your bill, which they have no right to do, especially when the server is not deserving. read more

Went there on Thursday May 15th for dinner before the show; walked in at 5, and indicated I'd be very flexible since I didn't have a reservation. The hostess sniffily informed me I'd be on a time limit at a table, and put me at the bar. The bartender was clearly not in the mood for customers (I didn't want/need to chat anyways), and answered my questions in a clipped, unsmiling manner. On the plus side, the food was knockout: strawberry spritz, a really nice bread board ("I'm worried that might be too much food." Her disinterested shrug: "Take the leftovers home."), a good little Cesar, and an orgasmic carbonara. I was too full for the delicious sounding desserts, but again the bartender spent no time discussing them, whipping out her Toast payment as fast as possible. On the way out I said good night and thank you to the hostesses; they ignored me. So, a qualified recommendation: go for the great food, strong value (I ate like a king for barely $55), and nice ambience, and just assume the staff will be glacial or snotty and ignore them. I was looking for a decent traditional Italian deli in the area & stumbled upon this hole in the wall behind a petco. The hostess greeted me & I ordered the spicy Italian. She repeated my order. We had drinks at the bar before being seated at our table. We had the calamari appetizer and the Barada appetizer, followed by delicious pastas, and an excellent entrées. Great gluten free pasta and food service cannot salvage poorly cooked food and extremely expensive prices. Though the pasta itself was nice, the chicken tasted like it had been marinated in propane. Extremely expensive for what was given. $32 for a bowl of spaghetti with pesto sauce and said oil well special chicken. The pesto sauce had about 20% too much olive oil as well. Conversely, the portion sizes were severely lacking when one considers the price. The entree bowl was 60% rim with the actual food taking up only the same amount of space as an appetizer at Olive Garden. $10 additional if one wants a single scallop: I kid you NOT, that's PER SCALLOP. Another $4 PER meatball for a mere 1 inch diameter meatball. Even had this meal been left over worthy, there would have been nothing left. Kind service by the waitress keeps this from being a 1 star rating. read more

I love this place. Pre-COVID, we went regularly for lunch because my ideal plate at noon involves cured Italian meats, olives and salad. Here to meet my needs: the Panini Combo, which I could eat every week! I usually do the Spicy Italian panini with the Verde salad, and it's simply perfect. Recently, my husband, daughter and I went for a nice dinner. Despite the fact that our online reservation (recommended) got mixed up, they were kind, friendly, and able to seat us when we arrived. ** I recommend calling them to make a resi; their online system seems to have some issues. ** For our fancy dinner, my daughter enjoyed a wood-fired Pizza Margherita; my husband had a pasta dish with wild boar ragu. Any time I see scallops on the menu, I go for it, and these did not disappoint. I've been to this restaurant/market/bar/??? twice and each time, I felt it was a little chaotic. The first time, I couldn't even tell if they were open, and I just wanted something cold to drink. They sort of said ok, but then there was a bizarre lack of service. This time we came in to a virtually empty room and she asked if we had reservations, for lunch. Is that a thing now? But they were able to seat us once they figured out which staff person would to it. Many walked by, finally one seated us. I loved the bread. Good start. Friendly waiter, very attentive and i think he was new. But, here's where the two stars came off. We ordered the 1/2 panini with soup and only one of the items was served warm. Doesn't a panini by definition get grilled? It was a sandwich, tasted ok, but the bread was cold, the cheese was cold and so it really wasn't what we ordered. So,,,,,, yeah. read more

Absolutely amazing restaurant & food. They have a lovely courtyard behind the restaurant with canopy's & heaters, so you will be dry & warm. So romantic. Service is top notch. They have done a great job with social distancing. The food is also amazing! All pasta is made fresh, and cooked al dente. We had their hearty Minestrone soup. So flavorful. The harvest salad w grilled prawns. Yum! For dinner, we enjoyed the Capesante. I highly recommend! Nicoletta's Table and Marketplace. We made a reservation for Nicoletta's Table using Open Table, our first time using this service, and the whole reservation process went very smoothly. We selected it because we had tickets for a play across the street at the Lakewood Center for Performing Arts, which makes this restaurant very convenient. We ordered a Due Insalate (Spinaci Appassiti & Issalaita di Cavolo e Mela / $14) which we shared, Spaghetti alla Carbonara ($16), and a Sausage & Artichoke Pizza ($15). The restaurant / marketplace was very nice, the food was good, but not outstanding, expensive for pasta, and I would call the service "distracted." Not awful service, but their timing is off ... here are a couple of examples: when we walked in, and stood at the host station, the hostess was on the phone. She saw us, turned away, never acknowledged us, and we stood there for several minutes, waiting for her to finish her call. Later, at the end of our meal, our server came over and filled our water glasses ... as we were getting up to leave. Ten minutes earlier, when they were emptied, it would have been appropriate. I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here again. 3 Stars. read more

Let me start by saying the food here is amazing! The drop in rating is based off our experience... We made reservations for Valentine's Day and were very excited as we had heard great things about the food. So we arrive and we are being lead to our table which is a A) a high table and B) located in their storage hall! See photo for reference. Best salad I think I've ever had. The dressing was nice and creamy without being overpowering * Carbonara with scampi: Amazing! Great flavor and honestly it didn't even need the addition of the scampi (which was an extra $10). Dinner with family (brother-in-law and wife) who are Lake Oswego (almost) natives. So they KNOW the good spots. Nicoletta's Table is truly a trattoria and market. Feels like 'if it's Italian they have it!' Lovely evening so we were seated outside and Jacqueline was our ever attentive server. My brother-in-law is a genuine wine connoisseur so, as expected, he brought his own wine ... no issue at Nicoletta's although I'm sure they have a fine and extensive wine list. My wife ordered the Parmigiana Di Pollo really good although she's a sauce kinda gal and would have liked sauce on the chicken ... more than what was on the spaghetti. But the taste was spot on. I had the Wild Boar Pappardelle, Pappardelle Di Cinghiale. Tasty although I too was looking for a bit more sauciness. That plus the pappardelle seemed a bit too 'toothy'. It bordered on tough which I thought a bit strange for house-made pasta. Was it simply undercooked or just tough ? Don't know but it was a bit weird. All tasty although I found the wild boar ragu a bit stringy but perhaps that's how wild boar is 'sposed to be!!! But again it was tasty! I'm not sure the taste was spot on because I'm just not sure how wild boar ragu is supposed to taste!!! Overall the dinners were quite good ... perhaps not exceptional. This evening, the hostess (didn't catch her name) was quite helpful ensuring I was able to get in for dinner and the server (Noah) was excellent and efficient. Other servers in the past have been consistently excellent and made for an enjoyable dining experience. This place has amazing Italian food and a great atmosphere! I have been to Nicoletta's table about three times and every time I am never disappointed. There food is high quality, wine selection is amazing, and the ambience is upscale casual. Our server (Mellie? Nellie?) was able to suggest a great wine for us based on our preference and she provided us excellent service. The best part of the night was when one of the bartenders came over with a "surprise" bottle of wine that he thought we would like to try and it was a perfect choice for our preferences, what a cool experience! The pasta is usually what we order when we go and it always hits the spot, there is not one pasta on the menu that is bad. They are also constantly changing the menu based on what is available. They have a perfect array of different types of pasta dishes depending if you're feeling like a rich and creamy pasta or more of a light seafood pasta. There is a high price point for the dishes and do not expect extremely large portions, however I feel the price points for the freshness and the flavors is worth the money! read more

I called to reserve the private room for a holiday event. The woman who took the reservations was rude, insisted that I couldn't reserve it for less than eight people. I said we'd likely have nine. The conversation took a bad turn when she said, it's available either at five or seven thirty. If we took five we had to be out no later than seven and we couldn't split the check. All of this sounds typical but it was the tone of her voice, aggressive and negative. I told her she needed to improve her tone with customers, she told me, with a raised voice that I was negative and aggressive. I told her to forget the reservations. I'll not go there again. My wife and I met my brother in law and his wife for a late lunch. We had eaten here a couple of years ago and it was superb. Not so this time. I ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs. The sauce was almost non-existent and had no taste. The meatball were dry and luke warm. They were tasteless. Amazing pizzas. Slightly smaller than Pizzeria Sul Lago nearby, but just as good. The ambience is very cozy and their hearth is made of lucky pennies. I saw a family eat right at the bar area while the staff cooked up the pizzas. Casual enough for families, but elegant for a fancy date or night on the town. My pizza was fabulous and other food nearby all looked really great too. The take and bake lasagna trays looked a bit overpriced, but the lunch and dinner prices are good.
