Predatory towing. They need to be shut down. I parked behind my two parking spots so that I could go inside and swap with a family member. Understand that our parking area is very wide and can easily fit 3 cars driving through. I am not blocking anyone from passing by, that includes vehicles as large as firetrucks. My car was towed from my new apartment complex from a UNMARKED parking spot that appeared to belong to no one. I paid $412 after waiting 30 minutes for them to show up to the office and once they finally showed up they demanded we signed a release form of my vehicle's condition before even being allowed to look at it. My belongings were scattered in the front seat and they went through my center console because they left it open. They drove my car out from the lot and left it running 50 feet away from me by the gate and just left it there and said nothing as I had to walk all the way over there because they are too fat and lazy to do anything decent. A very unprofessional business and they are not an approved business bureau, and NEVER WILL BE! I unfortunately had to get my car back from parking in a place I mistook for being a visitor parking because I was apartment searching, this place will not give you back your car unless you pay a 280 fee, so with that I had no problem paying and called ahead. ( the lady on the phone had a strange negative energy and wanted to argue with me over nothing so I hung up on her ) When I get to paying the lady with glasses almost charged me 5 dollars more and I corrected her with the fact that I called a few minutes earlier. So they almost charged me MORE even when I already knew how much I was paying. Since the initial review of Night Star Towing off of Artesia in Fullerton, we discovered that our car was damaged. The front panels around the fender were lose and there were a few strange scratches around the bumper, of which, I could not figure out how they got there. We asked to see the pictures the techs took of our car before towing it away and the lady said that they were taken but when we asked to see them, she quickly showed them to us through the fenced/gated windows, which were impossible to see a picture through, let alone her face when she was speaking to us. We asked to have the photos but she would not release them. She even had the nerve to tell us to take her to court if we didn't believe her. Obviously, there was some mishap to our car hence the delayed arrival of our car to the tow yard; the defensiveness of the woman behind the gated window of the tow office; and the outrageous fee of $425? We were there before the car arrived so I have no idea why we were charged so much. In terms of our car being stored there, there was no such thing. The lady merely ran up the clock arguing with us and being rude so that she could justify the fee she charged us. Such a rude, unprofessional woman who just couldn't speak like a normal person... Did we just call to ask about the weather? Since the car is registered to me, they refused to take my daughter's credit card and required $340 cash. That is illegal in CA. This was perhaps the worse experience I have ever had with a company. Please read... My vehicle got towed for leaving it parked on an "employee parking", forgot to move it in the morning, which is fine - I understand I made a mistake so I will pay to get my vehicle out. However, as soon as I sat inside my vehicle after paying and started pulling out of the yard, I noticed that my car started making a lot of weird noises. I looked underneath the vehicle and realized that Night Star Towing absolutely destroyed my car. The whole bottom muffler was torn down, the driver side door has a huge whole underneath it where they incorrectly tried to clamp my vehicle and there was more noticeable damage underneath the car. See pictures attached. When I confronted the workers, they DENIED everything and said that the vehicle was already like that. How could I have driven my vehicle from LA to OC literally the night before?! Impossible. Night Star is completely unprofessional, taking no ownership what so ever. I quickly got my car insurance involved, and they concluded that the damage was in fact caused by Night Star Towing who had incorrectly locked in my vehicle in the tow bed, forcefully penetrating the frame of the car and when they dropped the vehicle - it was very noticeable that the drop was from very high up. Knowing that I had countless times gotten away with parking 2-3 after hour stints in a certain posted "customer only" lot of a mini mall in the Tustin Annex area of orange county, CA, next to my son's apartment I thought I would try again on Christmas Eve. While having dinner with my son and family, our pick up truck got towed. Keep in mind, the area is so densely populated that there is no street parking within 1/2 to 1 mile of his apartment complex. Called at 10PM and as soon as the operator picked up at Night Star, he started yelling "I can't hear you, are you drunk, on medication?" Despite that, I tried to get info on how soon I could come and get my truck. Once policy was understood, we could get it Christmas day at 12 noon. Once at their Santiago St. yard, I went through the payment and release of vehicle process smoothly. Ouch $, so much for 4 weeks of groceries! I gave them a star and a half, only because the desk clerk was civil and efficient. My bigger complaint was with Orange County and their lack of parking. During our week stay in my son's neighborhood, when we needed to drive anywhere, which was every day morning and evening, we spent 1/2 to 3/4 hour to search out street parking anywhere from 1/2 to 1 mile away from his apartment. Everything is packed with restrictions and we noticed long standing cars with no tickets on them, despite street signage. Saw plenty of obvious residents doing the doe-see-doe with car parking. I called to see if my car was towed with them and I wouldn't get my calls answered. It was very frustrating since I had to get to work and didn't know anything about my car. I called the police department and they said there was nothing in the system showing my car was in any of the towing companies. An officer was then sent and took down the report and said most likely my car was stolen. The next day around 7pm I received a call from the police department and they told me that my car was at this company and that they just didn't sent the report right away. What a horrible encounter with this towing company. I reside in Buena Park, our complex has a loading zone painted in green with a 10 min max parking. I was out grocery shopping, I parked in the loading zone to take in my groceries, keep in mind, I'm 8 months pregnant, my assigned parking is quite far and it's hard for me to bring in the bags. When I was done taking the grocery bags inside my apartment, I come back out to move the car. My worst nightmare, it was hooked up on the towing trunk. I was upset of course, but I kept myself calm, I asked the driver to show me the picture where my vehicle was park in the loading zone longer then the 10 mins max, he stated I was parked for close to 30 mins, although his photos showed less then the 10 mins. After going back on forth, I asked him to please get me on the phone with his office, he called them, went around his trunk to prevent me from hearing his conversation and spoke to them, but was refusing to let me speak to them, I had forgotten my phone in the house, and was afraid if I left where my vehicle was, he would leave. The vehicle was up on the dollies, ready to go. I didn't want to stress anymore, so I agree to pay for the labor or for what it cost for them to have unhook. The price they were giving me was for $250 (break down $75 dollies hook up and $175 towing). They had not towed the vehicle, so why charge that? I had to call the manager to get him to reason with the company. I ended up paying $175 cash, they didn't want to accept a Credit Card, why? In the receipt I requested states it was parked in the fire line, which is not true. This company is untrustworthy and they lie. Manager didn't call them to tow my vehicle, and I was charged for towing when they didn't take off with my vehicle, it's usually $60-$75 to put down a vehicle from the dollies. It states that in the price break down aswell. Next time I see them in my complex, I will report them to the police station, they're continually driving around, I found out other residents have had issues with them aswell, they tow within mins, they don't wait the entire 10 mins. Having to wait until after 9 am to call and make a appointment while being stuck outside of my apartment in the rain was horrendous, I work a absolute ton of hours to afford to pay the ridiculous amount for rent to live here and I felt like a complete and total worthless bum having to sleep at my door step all because of someone else's lack of compassion and their ignorance. 9am finally came around and I called the Santa Ana location number, no answer.. so I called the main dispatch number and talked to a lady who I believe was the person at the Fullerton location who sent me to Santa Ana knowing no one was there, she placed me on hold and then told me no one answered from the appointment scheduling department and to call back after 12pm.. I had told my boss what was going on and had him call in which not surprisingly they told him someone was at the location and would be there until 2pm.. at this point it's obvious they were holding my car hostage and preventing me from paying to get it out so they can just keep adding more and more fees hoping I won't be able to pay it because of what my car is worth! My boss sent a Lyft for me graciously so I could make it before 2pm. Mind you they were charging me $695 on Saturday night and because the employee left they tacked on ANOTHER $95 storage fee!! The total I had to pay to get my car back was a incredibly insane $790! Considering my car was towed at 3am on Saturday morning... in which if I would have been able to pick it up when I arrived Saturday at 4:30pm it wouldn't have been there more than 13 hours and they were still going to charge me $695!?!? Seriously... unbelievable! I'm absolutely appalled with the behavior of these people, I can't even call them people because to be a person means you're a human being and to be human you have to have humanity and empathy! They seem to be these predatory tow truck villains that collaborate with business owners to be their spotters. I ran down to my car that was not even fully hitched (I had to beg to get my car seat, and he didn't put the car in the right gear so it started rolling while I'm pulling out the car seat and almost runs me over and straight into the wall, pulls away with back door open and me retrieving car seat) and legally they are supposed to release the car charging half a day at most if the owner of the vehicle approaches before they are on the road. They towed the vehicle I was driving because I parked in a fire lane, understandable a violation was commuted therefore they were called to provide towing services. Again understandable. I go to pick it up the same day as soon as I noticed they had towed it, I go fill the paper work with the registered owner of the vehicle he is my witness, they don't properly tow cars. They towed my car with the break on fucking up the transmission because they did a wheel lift, but that's not it. I am about to pay in cash 330 dollars and I tell them for that I need to get my wallet which is inside of the vehicle because they towed it with my personal belongings in it. My truck was locked. So the lady tells me that she is the one that has to go get it. She goes and comes back with my wallet hands it over to me I opened it and they had taken all my money. They can't say I didn't had money in there because I have proof and witnesses that I did it was over a hundred dollars I had one bill of 50 had 2 20 dollar bills, couple ten dollar bill and 1 dollar bills, they took the whole thing, then I go back to the vehicle my bag was open all the zippers I never left it like that. I go back and ask the lady who was the person that took out the wallet from the vehicle to which she responds that she was the person that had taken it out, so I let her know that my money is missing to which she immediately responds that she need to take my contact so she can have her boss call me and talk about it. 15 min late I receive the call from the boss so here I am trying to get some answers asking questions not even blaming him directly or being rude about it and all he can manage to say is I make 10000 dollars a day and I pay my drivers good so there is no reason why they could have taken the money plus you just took your truck out and payed like 500 dollars you are just trying to get that money back I am not going to waste my time to investigate 100 dollars. This is a really ghetto company , which handles all situations the most wrong and unprofessional way. I've never posted any reviews on yelp but this is the first and last. Someone that I know got their car towed , which I mean is there job but the way the women acted like a "child" handled the situation very wrong but cussing and saying that things aren't her problem being very aggressive. This company was called on Fourth of July as well , while there was at least 10 cars lined up in an alley way and they never came to resolve this ISSUE WHICH WAS URGENT BECAUSE THE CARS WERE BLOCKING A GATE. You guys need to do better and treat people with respect to do your job professionally the way it should be done. The guys were also being aggressive and shutting them down instead of doing it the right way. Treat other peoples PROPERTY WITH RESPECT. read more

My car was illegally towed from a private property which I had permission from owner to park. I received my car back with damage to the bottom of car and cut catalytic converter as they were trying to remove it but did not succeed. This place needs to be investigated for all their illegal activities. read more

Fast, professional and courteous service! I live in a gated apartment complex in Huntington Beach and came back from work only to find out that someone had parked in my spot, which clearly says "reserved" on it. I then called Night Star Towing and they were there within 30 minutes, asked for the PPI number (which you get from calling your local police station, standard procedure) and got the intruding vehicle towed. I Highly recommend Night Star Towing! P.S: All the bad reviews stem from all the morons who cannot read a "Reserved" or "No Parking" sign. read more

they scam a lot of people so wrong and I pray they day is coming they mess with the wrong person. They take cars park them and continue collecting them until they get all of them out of whatever parking lot they were taken them from then go back to where they stash them to take them to the car lot so technically that's stealing because if you going to tow someone car you gonna to take it to the yard we have videos we have pictures that our car was not taken to the yard when the guy said it was this company is coming to an end from scamming people all money ant good money how yall lawyers ready cause yall gone spend mor money tryna fight this imma make sure of that read more
