I worried that the Ivory Sky Media crew and my photographer's crew would clash or get into each others' ways but they seemed to work great side-by-side. We really liked the crew who shot our wedding. All the bridesmaids and groomsmen were raving about how awesome they were! The wedding highlight video was by far my favorite part of the whole package. Such a great way summarize the magic of the whole experience. The gimball features and the aerial shots they got of the Rose Garden in San Jose and the St. Joseph's Cathedral were breathtaking. Right when I got into contact with Allen, I felt so comfortable working with him. He was friendly, and quick to reply with our messages. Their prices and services were straight forward, nothing complicated, and very reasonably priced! Allen even gave me a discount (Facebook code). For our wedding, we had 3 videographers: Allen, Jennifer, and Frank. They were shooting all different kinds of angles, they even had a drone. How awesome!! The first time I met them, they were so friendly. Especially Allen, he was so genuinely kind-hearted, and even while we were getting ready, they were all so patient and nice with everyone. However, traffic held them back about an hour, but it was OK since we were kind of running behind schedule. Because of this, Allen was kind enough to refund me the extra 1 hour I paid for. How nice of him! The wedding video came in the mail as 2 BluRay discs, with customized cases. The entire video was amazing!! Previously, the editor had sent us a questionnaire that provided them an idea of our favorite songs and what style we wanted. All the songs they chose were so perfect!! The shots they took were beautiful, the drone shots were amazing! Then the highlight video was done and even that was also so perfect! Literally chose the perfect songs, songs we didn't even know much people liked or knew about, but these songs were all about us. It represented us so well as a couple. Once in a blue moon, a company surpasses my expectations. When I first contacted Circle Video from…read moresearching online, I explained I had a fairly extensive video editing project and was under a very tight deadline. I was new to the Bay Area and had nothing more to go on than my first impressions over the phone. I explained that the project would involve three distinct "phases" requiring precise syncing to a soundtrack on specific musical beats, fast cut edits (3 seconds or less) with faultless transitions of over 150 photos into a 3-minute soundtrack, and setting multiple video clips to a timed soundtrack, balancing audios to enhanced voice-over-sound. I had a very special objective in mind. My stepdaughter was out of state at college, and I learned that she had a falling out with her dad. I knew she missed him, because they had always been very close. I was determined to find a way to remind her of all the happy times she had with him, and me, as a very special 19th birthday gift. The finished project was envisioned to be a time capsule of her life, through pictures put to a special piece of music, from birth to high school graduation. Part of the gift would be delivery of a 32" HDTV and DVD player for her to watch the video on. So this was a project that would demand a professional video production company. My first impressions of James over the phone were that he understood what I wanted, and I felt comfortable that he had the ability to complete the work. I liked the fact that he could schedule studio time right away so we could get started. I knew exactly what I wanted the finished product to look like, and so he suggested I sit in to provide direction as he edited. The session was long and very focused, but James never tired. He was friendly, attentive, thorough, and knowledgeable in his craft. Within days, James had completed my project for pickup. A week later, my phone rang. It was my stepdaughter who tearfully thanked me for her birthday gift. I knew the tv was not causing her tears. It was something else. I asked how she liked the video. She said all her friends had watched the 14-minute video and they were all blown away! And then she got quiet for a moment, choking back emotion. I waited. She said, "Mom, I called dad. After watching the video a few times, I realized we need each other." Rarely have I written a review because I'm almost never satisfied with customer service or results. But this is one company that truly met and exceeded my expectations. I can truly say James and Circle Video are outstanding! I would not hesitate to use their services again (and already am working on our next project) -- and I highly recommend James. He got the project done -- the way I wanted it, within the deadline I needed it! A father and daughter have been reunited. Mission accomplished! It just doesn't get any better than that! Many months before the wedding, I searched for videographers and wedding video packages that suited our taste, where we wanted candid, yet dreamy/fairytale shots of our day, along with videos of our ceremonies (tea ceremony & Western ceremony), all while being within a certain budget. After sending in quotes and meeting with some videographers, it was a challenge to find the one that really matched what we needed. Luckily, I got in touch with Tri Luu Films through one of the wedding sites that recommended him, and saw some of his work on Vimeo, including a wedding short that was at the venue we were getting married at. Tri was such a pleasure to work with from the get-go. He met with us to talk about our ideal style and "must captures," and knowing that he was familiar with our venue in San Jose as well as having experience with capturing tea ceremonies is really what sold us. They were even onboard when I mentioned that I would be surprising the bride with a musical performance during the reception, and were able to capture that. On the day of, Tri Luu and his team were fantastic - incredibly professional, kind, and understanding of timeline shifts. Something I really appreciated was that they know when it's appropriate to step-in and give advice on good video shots versus when to be more in the background and let the photographers do their thing. Our wedding video package included a trailer, wedding short, and a documentary. The trailer was great and made me hyped to see the rest of the filming, and it also got to us less than three weeks from the wedding! The wedding short film I liked because it included some short lines from vows, speeches, dances, and ceremonies and various snippets from the wedding. The documentary, though, was definitely what I was waiting for - over an hour of great footage, edited chronologically for us to relive the best day of my life. I could tell it was done with great care because everything flowed well, there were transitions showing off the venue where the next part of the wedding was at, and the background music was perfect.
