We dined with a group of twelve this past weekend and my group, including myself had never been to Niki's!! Like how does that even happen to life long metro Detroiters, and to the long standing Niki's??!!! (EDIT: My sister and I have been to the lounge that is adjacent to the restaurant) We were so glad we chose Niki's for our family Christmas outing of lunch and a Red Wings game. Excellent pizza's, salads, sandwiches' and entrees were enjoyed by all. Our server Coya (Toya..?? Sorry) was excellent as well. For twelve people and all the food and drinks we enjoyed, our bill was very reasonable. I would 1000% go back to Nikis's! It's still kicking it in the new year! 2022!! read more

Visiting Motor City for a short turn around trip.. stumbled upon Greek town and so glad that I did . The food at Nikkis was amazing and so was our waiter Fatima. I never had pizza like this before and it was simply delicious. We also have Tzaki with fresh pita which was also amazing . Even with COVID the food was still delicious and the service was amazing . I came here after going to a Lions game with my buddy which I'm not a huge fan of sports anyways but I went with him anyway since he has season passes. I've passed by this place probably a good thousand times walking around Detroit with my camera taking photos and not once ever thought about stopping in to get food because usually it's pretty busy and I don't like waiting in lines unless I know it's worth it. My buddy swore up and down this place would be one of us pizza places I would like and he wasn't 100% wrong. I did enjoy my pizza but I'm not a huge Detroit style pizza fan so for me I would say great crust great cheese cooked right but I just didn't like the Detroit style that's just because I'm from New York. The service here was top notch our server she was amazing and very kind and very attentive to make sure our needs were met and had a smile on her face the entire time and even joked with us a couple times which was great and I really enjoyed that experience on it. The place wasn't packed so that was nice you can tell they were a little understaffed which who was it right now but even being understaffed they kept up with tables without an issue and I noticed that which was great and that's why I tipped well because I get with things going on right now they are overworking themselves. But I definitely did enjoy coming here and I'll definitely come back to try another item on their menu to see if there's something else I prefer if not it would be a great place to always bring friends who do like Detroit style pizza to check it out. read more

Pizzapapolis was closed so we tried this place. The hostess couldn't have been less friendly. She didn't respond to any questions we had and appeared completely annoyed. I watched her sit the next guest and same thing happened. Bizarre for the person responsible for the restaurant's first impression. We ordered garlic bread to start and it was literally 2 slices of toast with garlic salt. We prefer a pizza. The taste was good but it wasn't hot. It was like pre made and they heated it up. A deep dish pizza should come out scolding hot. Definitely not the case here. The server came to our table one table to take the order and that was it. Less than 4 tables sat during our dinner. Ordered the Greek pizza, though the flavor was good, I would not recommend it. The quality of the pizza toppings must have been very poor because I immediately had the worst stomach ache and so did everyone else who shared the pizza with me. It has been 5 hours later and my stomach still hurts from eating there. I hadn't eaten anything else before the pizza and had felt perfectly fine beforehand. If I could I would absolutely go back in time and not eat here. There might be old ingredients in that place or low quality ingredients to cause this experience on multiple customers and other people must know because when we walked in the restaurant was entirely empty. read more

Nice pizza spot in the Greektown area . Had the the Greek salad and that was delicious. Love the beets and feta. The dressing was really good also. I and a large group of cousins came here this past Saturday evening, well Sunday morning around 1am. Most of us, myself included, were not Detroiters and were in town for our family reunion. As soon as we arrived, it became evident that the restaurant staff wasn't thoroughly pleased to see us, as it was so late and we were such a large group. We were immediately told upon entering that the checks would not be split. We were seated quickly. Our waiter wasn't friendly and was not the most pleasant. He didn't come to our table very often, but he did bring water pitchers to the table to decrease his need to return to the table much. We all ordered various appetizers and pizzas. I ordered the Opa! Saganaki, which was good. Everyone who ordered wings said that they were good. At around 2am, some more cousins came and were told that they had to order their food to go. It was strange, but seeing how technically the restaurant closes at 2am, it makes sense now. I found a gnat in my water glass toward the end of our time there. I asked the waiter for another glass, and he seemed to have an attitude about my request. I didn't put a gnat in my glass, sir. Why are you getting a 'tude with me? He took my glass, which I didn't want to give, but did as he asked, and he brought me a full glass of water. I would bet money that it was the same glass, just refilled. I wanted a fresh empty glass, which had it been earlier, I would have enforced. I'm sure that for locals, this place may be a good, reliable option to keep in the back pocket for inexpensive, decent food late at night that's downtown, but for me, I've experienced better and I've had better. It was bad. We had a 9 person group. The place was not busy, but we still got no service. The food took over an hour and some of it was cold. The managers came in. Stopped in before the U2 show at Ford Field. Ate outside in the patio nice day and not to bad people watching. We got the Greek salad it was vey good especially the dressing . Nice sized sliced beets crisp lettuce small sprinkles of feta cheese grape tomatoes no olives my wife doesn't like them. Had the deep dish Hawaiian pizza and I'm no fan of deep dish but we had an entertainment book coupon so I thought what the hell. Niki's is probably one of the only actual Greek restaurants left in Greektown, although it is located slightly off the main Greektown street. My family and I dined here last week after working up an appetite walking around the Auto Show. I expected this place to be *slightly* busier because of so many events going on around the city, but it was fairly quiet. I'm not sure what to think of that, but we were happy we didn't have to wait long nonetheless. Niki's is located in a massive warehouse type building. The exposed brick and high ceilings definitely give off a great Mediterranean vibe. There are many tables and booths throughout. Despite the slower night service was also quite slow. My family ordered the one slice special, which comes with one slice of their famous deep dish pizza and a large portion of their Greek salad. My Aunt ordered a grilled chicken salad. Everyone's order came out at random times. We're typically the kind of family who waits until everyone gets their food before eating, but we decided to dive in anyways. We didn't want our food to get cold while we waited. The waitress was either new or didn't know how to help the situation much. She was kind, but she could sense we weren't overly impressed with the kitchen service. The pizza was delicious and well done. Enough flavor to make my mouth happy, but not overpowering either. The salad, however, was quite sad. The lettuce wasn't the freshest and there was too many extra toppings to even let me enjoy the salad. Overall my first visit to Niki's wasn't the best but I may be back soon. The one slice special was a good deal (I believe it was $7.99) so I may get that as a carry out in the future. Nikis had a great menu with many unique items. We had a large group and ordered quite a bit of food to share. The saganaki was fun and was delicious. The salads were really tasty and could feed an army. The pizza was pretty good but could have used more meat. I really enjoyed the crust! Although the food was pretty good, service was quite slow. My family and I came here the other evening after visiting the Auto Show. Never been here before and it honestly looks like it hasn't been updated since it was built. For 8:30pm in a city with a lot of events going on around, it was rather slow. Only a couple other tables. With that being said, the service was very slow in the kitchen. My family and I ordered saganaki. It's a pretty sad item to order at a Greek restaurant. Like another Yelper said, it's served with cold baguette bread. A big disappointment if you're expecting warm pita bread. The bread ruined the saganaki for me. My Mom, sister and I all orders the one slice special, which is a slice of pizza and a Greek salad. The salads came out right after the saganaki. Huge salads, with tons of feta, onions and beets. Lettuce was a letdown and looked rather sad and old. My Aunt ordered a chicken salad and that came out with our pizza slices, which they didn't have on hand so they had to make the pizza. Took about 40 minutes after we got our salads to get the rest of our meals. Pizza was okay. Similar to Buddy's Pizza except didn't have the crunch and was lacking flavor. Waitress kept us in the loop and made sure we had everything we needed. Spent a lot longer here then we expected with how dead the restaurant was. read more

Detroit-style pizza is so much better than Chicago-style, I can't imagine why the latter is even still a thing. The airy-thick crust laden with butter - baked in square pans that were supposedly liberated from auto parts factories - is just so good, it's hard to stop eating! Balanced out with good - but not overwhelming - tangy sauce and creamy cheese, this is a great take on pizza. Niki's is a unpretentious - but with Motown class - kind of place that makes you welcome and feel good to be there. Service is exemplary! I will start by saying the service was good. That's the only reason why I gave 2 stars. Other than that I wouldn't given them 1 star, I've always loved Niki's but it has gone downhill the past few months. I placed a carry out order last night and I did a Grubhub order in November for a spinach pie(my favorite) and both times it did not taste fresh. The texture was off and the philo dough wasn't flaky. I was extremely disappointed at my spinach pie last night because it was burnt. I could tell it was a left over from a day or 2 and they just warmed it back up. I always love visiting Greektown. We were in the area after the Tiger game and wanted to get a bite to eat. We stumbled upon Niki's and the group consensus was Yes! They have a great variety on the menu from pizza to authentic greek food. Of course when in Greektown, you go with Greek food right? We started off with Saganaki. Who doesn't love flaming cheese! Opa! Fabulous blend of flamed cheeses really can satisfy anyone's tastebuds. I do wish it was served with pita bread rather than their regular table bread. But it was still tasty. Even though it wasn't greek, we wanted to get their calamari. A huge plate was delivered to the table. It was fabulous! It was lightly breaded and served with a cocktail sauce and also a spicy aioli. I was so full after the appetizers but we didn't stop there. I tried their Gyro with slices of lamb, tomato, onion and tzatiki sauce. Perfect in every bite. The lamb was so tender and flavorful. It was stuffed full in the pita for a great gyro sandwich. Service here was fantastic. Our waitress did an amazing job with keeping our drinks full. Her bright and bubbly personality was key here making us feel welcomed like one of her friends. My only gripe would be about the club next door which had their music up so loud it was coming through the restaurant walls. For nostalgia's sake, I could never give this place less than five stars! During my middle school and high school years my mother used to take me here every year after my annual check-up at Henry Ford Hospital. I hated going to the doctor and going to Niki's was how my mom coaxed me into going. It has probably been ten years since my last visit. As always, we started with the saganaki, fried Kasseri cheese doused in brandy and set afire. Opa! I could eat it every day! We also split a Greek salad and a small (4pc) pizza). Same as the good old days! If you like gooey, cheesy pizzas, than this one is for you! All this for $21!! If I lived in Detroit, I'd be here all the time. BTW, our waiter was excellent! He paid just the right amount of attention to us and timed our appetizer, salad and pizza perfectly. If you are strolling down the River Walk or blowing your money in the casino, take a break and go to Niki's for great cheese and pizza. Opa! read more

We went here while at a conference and the staff was really nice (hence stars). Arrived around 2am. There was a night club 18 and older up stairs sounds like great hip hop music. Ok ok great vibes so far! The only downside was the food was not good. My gyro salad taste like old meat, my friend chicken had weird tasting spices and not cook throughly. And first they messed up my other friend sandwich brought wrong one then chicken wrap not good either. Food taste like cheapest ingredients, bad chef cooked it, just no love. We just sat at the bar, Sunday night, only patrons at the bar. There was one employee sitting at the bar, looked like a manager. There were also 2 employees behind the bar, yet no one would serve us. Sooooo....I was craving saganaki in Greektown so went to Nikkis on Beaubien....I had my heart set on some good 'ol flaming cheese and sweet sweet warm pita.....this is what came cold and stale....sliced Italian-style baguette bread. We've been coming here for years. I grew up in downtown Detroit. I am also a server of 15 plus years. I know I can't expect to find myself at every restaurant but I hope that these people are at least trying... Today however, was Valentine's Day, I really wasn't expecting much but figured we would pop in since the place was open and surprisingly not busy what so ever. I thought, hey we might get decent service... boy was that a gross overstatement. (Not that the service has ever been great by any means in all the years I have continued to visit). The pizza is rather good (when it's right) otherwise I wouldn't continue to come back at all. There was crazy loud music coming from next door (ok, it's Valentine's Day and people are out celebrating) we get seating and approached for drinks relatively quick then we get the beer ,it tasted like it was about to turn... Of course we didn't see our server (at our table anyway) until our pizza was done, roughly 20-25 minutes later ( that's how long it takes to make a deep dish, I also work at a pizza place) at which time we receive a pizza that had none of the toppings it was supposed to have on it , I'm starving at this point and have no idea when this server will be back as a table with "wealthy" people have appeared to sit down and our server is now spending all of their time at that table. I pointed out to the server when they FINALLY reappeared, that the pizza was incorrect ( considering there was a large price difference) they offered to remake the pizza but I had already eaten it and couldn't have possibly waited for them to realize the huge mistake ( besides the fact that it is rude to eat the food and then complain ) I was only expecting that the server would adjust the price and call it fair...WRONG AGAIN. At this point I'm flaming mad, my husband was doing everything he could to keep me from losing my shit... He was generous enough to leave a crappy tip... This is the first time in my life I would have left nothing. This place really needs to clean up its service. As a server, I pity you. What's more I pity everyone lacking in this place which is sadly everyone. Not one server or bartender here could care any less. Clearly it lacks management as well. We came here based on the reviews, and the fact that the Feta Cheese Pizza had been rated one of the 25 Best Pizzas in the U.S. We ordered some cheese, garlic bread to start which was good, but not great. We then ordered some Cheese, Feta Cheese, and Pepperoni Pizza. The Cheese was very good, as the crust is great. The Pepperoni was sparse on the pepperoni, but saved by that same terrific crust. I have to say, the Feta Cheese Pizza was the best! The feta flavor adds a bit of saltiness that really sets this pixie apart. I would go back. I'd like to try some of the Greek food! read more
