    Bacon and eggs

I've been to Nikki's about five times now. Every experience has been good, but not excellent. The environment: It's a cheerful little restaurant! It's clean, happy, and bright. However, the tables are packed closely together. On one of the booth seats, I believe it's attached both ways; my side of the booth seat and then the neighbor's side of the booth seat. So... the person at the table behind me kept shifting around in their seat, causing the side of mine to lift up and down a little with each motion. This was incredibly annoying, though it was only these booth seats that had this annoying function. The food: The food was good, but came in pretty small portions. Just one waffle with fruit, eggs, and two strips of bacon were about $20. The food was good, but it did seem a little spendy to me. The service: My fruit waffle barely had any whipped cream - I didn't say anything about it - but the waitress noticed and immediately got more whipped cream for it. So shoutout to the awesome waitress, Monse! She was so kind, cheerful, and absolutely awesome! Also, my cousin ordered waffles without butter, but she got a waffle with a big slab of butter on it. So communication between staff for that wasn't ideal. Final thoughts: Food was good, but the portions were too small to justify the price. Service was amazing!

Spanish omelette and French Toast with eggs and bacon.

We are new to the area and were looking for a place for breakfast. So we went to our handy Yelp app. Nikki's had good to moderate ratings and we thought, let's give it a try. The outside gives you diner vibes which we like. Inside it looks like they updated a bit with a 90's deco feel but clean and inviting. The staff welcomed us in and our server was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast menu had a good amount of options, not too much or too little. We got the Spanish omelette and the French toast. The omelette was huge with 4 eggs, mushrooms, ham, cheese, bell peppers and onions. I could only finish 1/2 as it came with toast, biscuit or muffin and hash browns. The French toast was buttery and crispy. Also came with bacon. Recommendation: Coffee, Coffee, Coffee. With the availability of so much great coffee that is not expensive, I suggest that you get away from the typical watery dishwater diner coffee. I believe this will upgrade their business with younger generations. Overall this place is solid. Enjoy!

My order: #2 3 eggs & bacon Ordered sourdough toast (Scrambled eggs are from my son's order)

My kids and I were really hungry this afternoon and had a craving for pancakes. We tried to find a reliable breakfast spot, but given the time of day, our options were limited. I saw that Nikki's was open and advertised breakfast all day, so we decided to give it a try. I ordered the #2 combo, which included three eggs, bacon, and sourdough toast. I specifically asked for my hashbrowns to be crispy and my eggs over medium. My oldest son ordered what I believe was Nikki's Special from the kids' menu. I didn't get a photo of his meal, but I know he never received the toast that was supposed to come with it. He also didn't finish his orange juice because he said it tasted off, which is unusual for him. My youngest ordered pancakes, bacon, and eggs from the kids' menu. We were trying to keep things affordable since I knew he wouldn't eat the eggs. The waitress mentioned that this was likely the best option anyway, since ordering bacon by itself was $9. About 10 minutes after placing our order, a man in a white shirt and jeans came to our table. At first, I didn't know who he was or why he was talking to us. My kids were both under the weather and we had a doctor's appointment after the meal, so when he asked how we were doing and noticed my son coughing, I briefly wondered if he was a local doctor. It turned out he was with the restaurant and was asking about our drink order. Either he or the waitress brought our drinks a few moments later. Unfortunately, the meal was disappointing. The food was overpriced, and the quality didn't match the cost. My hashbrowns weren't crispy, and the overall flavor and experience reminded me of a below-average chain like IHOP or Howard Johnson's. I won't be returning. The high prices didn't match the quality of the food, and while I can't be certain, I ended up with an upset stomach later in the day that makes me wonder if the food may have been the cause.

We decided to give this place a second chance. Service 4/5 our server was janetha. She was very very friendly! Very personable. My only slight complaint was that we'd asked for something and it took a second request to get it. Not a deal breaker tho. Food... Dijon steak. 4/5. I mean this place isn't John howie...but my husband thoroughly enjoyed his steak and the pasta. He ate the whole steak but was full so took the pasta home to our son who ate it all and said it was delicious. Turkey club. 5/5. I have zero complaints here. The taste was wonderful, fresh, refreshing and the waffle fries were perfectly cooked. All in all was a really good meal. We will for sure be back soon!!

This place saved the day! I was searching for a Turkey dinner for my uncle in the hospital and they went above and beyond

Funny thing is, Maple Valley has become semi affluent over the past decade, and I never would have expected this to be the attitude, but I assure you, I stood out like a bruised thumb here. Service was really slow and for a while, I thought I was being ignored. The only person I saw working walked by me about 3-4 times before saying a word and asking me what I was drinking. I had already seen what I assumed was the menu on Yelp via photos, and short or a very small price increase from 2022, it was spot on. I ordered my food and it was prepared fairly quick, the cook slapped the bell, and the server grabbed it in about a minute, but my meal was barely warm., I had a burger dip and the burger and au jus were both room temp. The fries were golden, but also room temp and not crisp. It was disappointing, because you could tell the food was better than you would expect, but nothing it great at room temp. My drink went unfilled, and it was at least 15 minutes after I finished eating that I was handed the check. The server was so busy being social with regulars, I didn't get the attention I needed. For me, a meal is 30-40 from entry to exit, I was here almost 90 minutes to give you an idea of how slow the service was, It wasn't busy, the server was just not doing her job and the longer I sat, the less welcome I felt. Honestly, I've had warmer reception in Enumclaw and that is a city notorious for refusing diversity. Whoever owns this place needs to be more involved and if you invested some money into updating the décor and focusing on a better atmosphere, you could attract a crowd, as of now, you get 2 stars despite what I see as 4-star potential.

I've been in a few times and am impressed by the quality of the food. My hats off to the chef! Here's the breakdown of the meal: The Food Chicken Fried Steak: This wasn't one of those cheap frozen patties that's all breading. It was nice and thick with just the right amount of crunch. Sausage Gravy: The gravy can make or break this dish, and they nailed it. It was thick, savory, and had tons of flavor. Stuffed Hash Browns: I upgraded my regular hash browns to the stuffed version with bacon, and it was the best decision of the day. They were perfectly fried and crispy--exactly how hash browns should be. Over Easy Eggs: It's surprisingly hard to find a place that doesn't overcook these lately, but mine came out exactly as ordered. Pancakes: I swapped my toast for pancakes, and they were fluffy and light. They serve them with soft whipped butter and syrup, which makes a huge difference. The Service The real star of the morning was Debbie. She's essentially a one-woman show--running the bar, waiting tables, and serving everyone. She is absolutely awesome and keeps the place moving smoothly. It's rare to see that kind of hustle these days. The Verdict Don't let the "bar" label or the exterior scare you off. It's a friendly, welcoming spot with better food than most dedicated breakfast joints in the area. Give this place a chance--you won't regret it.

Pulling into the parking lot, I have to admit I wondered if my GPS had developed a sense of humor. The restaurant sits in an older strip mall that doesn't exactly scream "destination dining," but the inside has a cozy, old-school Texas diner feel that was actually pretty charming. Unfortunately, convincing my two kids that this was a better choice than IHOP turned into a losing battle almost immediately. We waited over 40 minutes for our food, which, in kid time, is roughly equivalent to serving a prison sentence. Every five minutes I was reminded that pancakes at IHOP would have already been eaten, digested, and forgotten by then. To be fair, the food was good. I ordered the Philly Scramble, and my wife ordered the California Eggs Benedict. The quality was solid, but the pricing left me scratching my head. The California Eggs Benedict, which came with tomato, avocado, and bacon, was nearly $30. For comparison, I've paid less for Eggs Benedict at places in downtown Seattle. Seeing a $28.99 Eggs Benedict in a strip mall in Kent felt like finding luxury hotel prices at a gas station convenience store. The pricing surprises didn't stop there. There are extra charges for things like splitting orders, automatic gratuity, and add-ons. We had asked for strawberries with the French toast, which may have contributed to the final bill, but it wasn't entirely clear when I reviewed the receipt. Unfortunately, the handwriting on the check was difficult to read, making it hard to understand exactly how everything was itemized. Since I wasn't completely sure what had already been included, I ended up leaving an additional tip just to avoid accidentally shorting someone. By the end, breakfast for our family came out to around $115. Now, credit where it's due: the service itself was friendly, and once the food arrived, everyone enjoyed it. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I can see why people like this place. The restaurant has a unique charm and definitely feels different from the typical chain breakfast spot. Overall, Mary's Fine Food serves good food and has a pleasant atmosphere, but the long wait times and pricing felt hard to justify for a family breakfast. Three stars. Not a bad meal, but next time my kids vote for IHOP, they may actually win the family election.
