I just left this place with my husband & our toddler. We ordered 2 donuts, super simple. I read all the reviews and thought we'd try it. HORRIBLE, STALE and rock hard! The chocolate they use is nasty and tastes cheap. I took the donuts back to the counter and the "lady" said "hold on let me get .....(whatever her name is". She comes out with the dirtiest look on her face, tells me there's nothing wrong with her donuts. I told her they're stale and the chocolate doesn't taste right. She started screaming at me to never come back. My daughter got upset that she was yelling. DON'T worry we WON'T be coming back for your NASTY donuts. The donuts are good, but nothing out of the ordinary. They tend to run out of my favorites, so get there early. The service is good. The people who work here are always really friendly. Not sure if it's the owner or just one of the simple bakers however the staff is impolite and extremely rude. I went to grab a couple of donuts (4) for me and my girlfriend, left my wallet at home and tried to use Apple Pay, then they tried to enforce a $5 minimum spending limit for debit card transaction. I politely informed them of my situation and lack of cash, asked for a one time exception and they said no because every time we use a card, Visa and MasterCard charge them for a transaction fee (it's only .35¢) so they require a $5 purchase and asked me why not just buy another donut or a milk, etc and I explained that it was unnecessary and not within my needs at the moment and they still demanded enforcing the minimum. Just so you are all aware, this is completely unethical in accordance with Visa and MasterCard standards as a business entity using their services. They have stipulated that businesses CANNOT require minimum purchases for consumers to use their services and any businesses caught doing so and reported doing so will have their privileges revoked. Safe to say I will not be bringing my business here again, and I will also be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commissions, and both Visa and MasterCard corporate. Fellow consumers, know your rights and don't let these kind of bullies try to push you around and steal your money. If they want to operate a business they need to understand that you have a thing called "over head" and transaction fees for credit/debit card services are a part of that. Hopefully they'll learn their lesson when they get slapped with a revocation of privilege. read more

Twice a week I go biking starting here. I don't know what time this place opens but even at 5:15am they are open. Wow. That's dedication. The lady that works here is a nice woman and I assume the kid is her daughter. They are both quite friendly and helpful in the early AM. Poor kid, gotta wake up so darn early. The chocolate-covered glazed donuts are good, I'd say 70 percentile. The chocolate is nice, not too sweet; the donut is chewy good. I've had better but I've had much worse, yep 70 percentile. My only gripe is that the oil isn't hot enough so the donuts come out between a little too greasy to more than a little too greasy. They also have a variety of decent high quality coffee in dispensers, not that Yuban stuff. The donut is 70 cents and the small coffee is $1.35. Total $2.05 so bring a nickel. If you're in the area for breakfast or need a quick snack, sure come on in. Its right on the corner of Niles and Mission, by the 7-11. Bring your 2 bucks plus a nickel and help this nice lady save for her kid's college fund. Then she can get into a good college and find a nice job yelping all day. read more

And unless you're determined to stray from the beaten path (like the wild abomination known as Psycho Donuts, which I can also appreciate), donuts are often comparable in terms of variety and taste. I've had enough old-fashioned chocolate donuts in my life to know this is true. As for Niles Donuts, the donuts are as good as expected. But I'm justifying my score on other factors. Most importantly, the service. The folks are friendly here. It's also clear that they work very hard: everything is arranged neatly, and the place is very clean. This isn't always the case in your standard donut shop. And having a beautiful view of the mountains in Niles is just icing on the cake-donut. Highly recommended. read more

I really like the simple family business that they have. The lady that works behind the counter is sweet. I've had their apple fritter and old fashioned sugar donut. I like the old fashioned sugar donut because it doesn't smell like oil! There are some other shops that have donuts with a really deep fried oil smell. Not my taste. I feel like the sugar donut could be softer but I enjoyed it nonetheless. It was coated with the right amount of sugar. The apple fritter was a bit on the higher end side, at around $1.10, it was pretty sweet but yummy. :) I usually end up getting there late morning, and they run out of some type of donuts. One day, I hope to get there really earlyy. They close around 2 pm. Happy eating! The best thing about this place is the egg rolls! I know, weird that a donut shop sells egg rolls but they are seriously the best cheap snack in Niles. 80 cents a piece with a good balance of meat, vermicelli, and cabbage. Not the best egg rolls I've ever had, but still delicious, cheap and freaking cheap. And they sell out really fast, I was there at 8:00 this morning and there were only a few left so go early (they open at like 5) if you're looking for egg rolls. The donuts are decent, I like the donut holes and cinnamon twists. Fluffy dough, not too greasy and just the right amount of sweet. So glad to officially have a local donut plate to frequent. We live about 5 miles away and it's definitely worth the drive. They have a $5 credit/debit card minimum and that's easily reached with 3 or more fancy donuts. This place is a little more expensive than most donut places I've been to but for the quality, I'm cool with that. Their treats are so moist, soft, and fresh tasting. Ate the first donut and half way through tasted hair in my mouth and pulled out a long grey strand of hair. Needless to say I threw the rest away.
