Its an intimate, romantic place with low lighting and old fashioned decor. I got the pom lemonade - it was tart and refreshing - but my friend let me try her School's Out mocktail and it was INCREDIBLE! I got the lobster bisque - the tableside presentation was an elegant touch and it was creamy and rich - and the flank steak for dinner. One of the top 2 steaks ive ever had. Cooked to perfection. Bread was also tasty! Got the petite choco souffle with the grand marnier anglais. Also perfectly fluffy but my friend got it with the choco sauce and i have to say that one was better. I couldve eaten a bowl of both sauces on their own though. It seemed lively at the bar esp for a thursday, so i know this place is a populat hangout. Definitely go for a special occasion, you wont regret it! I hope to go again soon!

Like most French bistro they have a shorter but traditional menu, with the usual suspects - onion soup, pate, escargot, charcuterie board, mussels, steak frites, Bouillabaisse - but what drew us in was the duck confit cassoulet. We have eaten cassoulet in Carcasonne, the home of cassoulet, and this was definitely worthy of the name. Gamey, savoury, duck falling off the bone, beans swimming in an umami broth, definitely lip lickingly good. However the vegetarian cassoulet was not as flavourful, it was nice, but needed more garlic, pepper, some herbs or seasoning, a little more oomph. The fennel was delish, but the beans bordering on bland and there was very little broth to dip my baguette into. With a belly full of beans we decided to order dessert because why not! Life is short, eat dessert, c'est la vie. Creme brulee was creamy with a tappingly good sugar crust, and the chocolate mousse had a nice consistency but was overwhelmed by cinnamon, which was a pity. It was definitely worth the visit for the Duck cassoulet, and we will visit again to try the onion soup and moules.

This place popped up, and it was happy hour. So we thought why not. We got lucky and found parking close (rare for that street). And walked over and immediately loved the vibe. We walked in and were greeted immediately, and then brought upstairs. The decor on the way up was awesome. The old school nature, with paintings and abstract vintage pieces.. love. It felt like we were in an old industrial building. We were surprised that it was pretty empty when we got up there. We sat at the bar, and love the decor upstairs too. There's a view of the street from up there as well that's beautiful. The bartender greeted us fairly quickly, and we each ordered a speciality cocktail on their happy hour. Both were delicious. I will say that the prices are a bit steep for me. Very glad we came during the happy hour. But really want to return to try the food and more drinks. Maybe on a special date night out!

The ambiance of Perle felt very homey, like in a French restaurant with minimal lighting, but at least didn't feel too dark at the same time. I ordered the French onion soup, escargot, and the steak and frites to share with my girlfriend, and everything was just so good. The French onion soup was rich yet not overpowering at all in its flavor profile. I really liked the cheese they used to base off the soup. The escargot taste was pretty balanced, and quality of the steak and frites was A+. The steak was tender and moist, and the fries were well done and crisp. For dessert, they gave me a complimentary small cake, and I also got in addition their apple tarte tatin, and oh my god, was that the star of the show. The pastry and the sweetness of the dessert hit the spot for me. Would I come to Perle again even for a non special occasion? I definitely would!

At first, it was a minor nuisance, but as the food arrived, it became comically overwhelming. I did see another table that was supplied with a small table fan to shoo away the insect guests, but we were afforded no such courtesy. We ended up giving up on our meal because the flies had caked our entrees. The high price for the meal that felt so worth it on our first trip felt hilariously inappropriate for our a meal that was predominantly enjoyed by flies. Lesson learned and hopefully other readers can benefit from our mistake!

Like people said it was romantic and I was like sure, I guess in the pictures it kind of does. In person though??? Wow. Absolutely wow. I was in awe. I wish I could sit there every day. The lights and ambiance are truly insane. I have never experienced anything like it. Let me backtrack too and say that I paid $14 for valet which tbh is not too bad considering I didn't have to worry about my car or anything so it was worth it. Okay the food. We got Parker rolls and the Mezze plate for the table. Wow, the Parker rolls were as you would expect. Buttery goodness. French butter as you know...top tier. Okay the Mezze plate? Every single sauce was so good. The little cous cous thing in the Mezze plate was so cute and yummy. Then the main dishes. Seven vegetable couscous was great. As a Moroccan, I can say it was a great vegetarian version of the dish. Has the staple veggies you look for in a cous cous. My friend got the vegan cauliflower steak and that was so beautiful and tasted delicious. It was a great dish for my vegan friend. Our waiter was so nice and really personable as well. From start to finish, he was there for us when we needed him and we really enjoyed our dining experience because of him. I forgot his name but he's a star. I have already recommended this place to others because it really was so incredible. I am so happy I got to come here.

She chose this place for the Instagram worthy atmosphere you see online, but I would say it falls a little short of how picturesque it is. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice garden setup up, but we were expecting a more romantic and whimsical layout. We also noticed that the dress code is very loosely enforced as there were numerous people there with T shirts on. We got there for our reservation about 15 minutes early and was seated quite fast. The hostesses at the front were quite friendly and the wait staff were attentive and mostly nice. One of our servers seemed a little curt at one point, but it wasn't too bad. Once you are seated they ask about your drink order, and offered wines, sparkling water, and literally said "tap water". Pretty surprised that they said tap water, but we went with a glass of wine and sparkling water. The menu is short and it's easy to make your decision. We went with the 24oz Prime Ribeye Steak, Pappardelle pasta, Kingfish Crudo, and the Portuguese Piri Piri Shrimp. The ribeye was served with scalloped potatoes and green beans that were delicious. The ribeye was a perfect medium rare, tender, and served in a very balanced sauce. The Piri Piri Shrimp was also great. Large pieces in a slightly spicy cream sauce; I would describe it as almost a Cajun flavor. These were my favorites of the dishes we ordered on this night. The Kingfish Crudo was a nice choice. I believe it was yellowtail served with small pieces of cherry tomatoes and peach chunks. The sauce was nice and refreshing with a little sweetness. The Pappardelle Pasta was ok, and probably my least favorite dish of the night. It wasn't bad, but wasn't on par with the rest of our meal. The thick pasta noodles were al dente, and the sauce was nice and creamy with pieces of green beans. It got better once we mixed the poached egg into the sauce, but still didn't get it to the point where we would order it again. Since it was my fiancé's birthday, she wanted to get one of their desserts served as a small birthday. She saw pictures of their passion fruit coconut cheesecake on Instagram and wanted that, but they changed it where the passion fruit was at the bottom of the cake. I thought it was decent, but not a great dessert. I thought the staff would at least sing happy birthday like other restaurants, but that didn't happen here. Overall, The Little Door is a small romantic stop to have a date night. I don't know if I would consider it a place to celebrate a special occasion though. I think we would come back, but not for anything big. Also, I would recommend using the valet, it's right in front and they only charge $14 pre tip.
