AT LAST!!! Finally, after 4 - or could it be 5 attempts now, I've lost count. Since the summer of 2021, we've been trying to get a taste of some of the BBQ offered here. My wife shared our story with a family member, and he went back to the restaurant on our behalf. Apparently you have to go there with a Plan B and be ready to go to it just in case they are out of a menu item you want or you don't want to wait 2 hours for them to prepare more chicken. We settled on a half slab and brisket combo with tips, baked beans, and Mac and cheese. It satisfied our curiosity. The meat was reasonably tender. The ribs were cut from the large end so I got big bones wrapped in meat. The mac and cheese was tasty, too, and the baked beans were a fitting complement to the brisket and bread. The sauce wasn't overwhelmingly remarkable but went fine with the meat as any good barbecue sauce should. I wish I could say more about Nine-1-1 Barbecue, but I can't. With exception for the eating utensils and larger than average napkins that came with our package, my expectations were not exceeded. I will give it a favorable endorsement after all the unnecessary preliminary anticipation that went into finally getting to try it. Well, been there, done that. read more

This was my first time eating here. Nice little gem. I had rib tips and macaroni and cheese. Both were good and it took me a couple of days to make my way through a large portion. When I was able to place my order things went smoothly, but it literally took me 3 days during business hours to get a live person on the phone to take my order. For Luddites this might be a challenge. read more

After the Famous Dave's on 95th closed a few years ago I've been hard-pressed to find a decent barbecue restaurant. I found 911 after yelping restaurants in the area and I was excited to see a barbecue shack among the listings. I brought my mom who was really craving barbecue. Unfortunately the barbecue was still cooking when we arrived and we were told that it would be a 45 minute wait. Bummer!!! This is why I gave them four stars. We opted for the half barbecue chicken dinner with baked beans as a side and a small hot link combo with collard greens as the side. I was pleasantly surprised. The barbecue chicken fell off the bone, it was very tender. The hotlink was good but not as spicy as I'm used to, actually it wasn't spicy at all. The Collard greens were delicious, I could've eaten an entire bowl with a side of corn bread. The The coleslaw was a little on the Sweet side, I only took off few spoonfuls. The baked beans were very tasty but also on the sweet side. The common theme was sweet; the barbecue sauce was sweet and spicy and the baked beans were sweet. The meal came dangerously close to being one note; sweet! However, I d still recommend 911 for service, cleanliness, and good homey food. We enjoyed our food very much. This was the first time trying this restaurant. I ordered rib tips, cole slaw and baked beans. The rib tips were tender and the sauce was just ok. However the baked beans were just pork n beans out the can with onion and green peppers added. The were not even baked!! Will not be visiting again. read more

Mt Greenwood needs more restaurants, there's no doubt about it. Especially ones that don't sell pizza, burgers, hot dogs and beefs. There are PLENTY of those, and they're very good, but variety is the spice of life. That being said, I was excited when I heard a new BBQ place was opening up. Hopefully no more drives to Chucks or Hog Wild for good BBQ, right? Wrong. At the very least, not yet. I had high hopes for this place. The first couple times I tried to go, they closed early because they ran out of food. The restaurant itself truly is a little "shack" with some plastic chairs that is decorated nicely enough, but it's tiny size screams "take it to go" as soon as you walk in. The employees were polite and the food looked and smelled good. I got a brisket sandwich, a 3 slider meal with pulled pork, chicken and brisket, and a 1/2 slab of ribs. The sides I choose were sweet potatoes, French fries, Mac-n-cheese and corn bread. The price was pretty reasonable and I took it to go. I live about 5 minutes away, so the food wasn't traveling far at all. First thing we noticed after unpacking it - no sauce. Anywhere. On ANYTHING. Including the ribs. Is it an extra charge ? Did they forget to pack it? Do you have to ask for it? Are they anti-sauce? I have no idea. This lead to a brisket sandwich that was just meat and bread. Nothing else. I figured not a huge problem, as long as the meat wasn't dry. It was horrifically dry. This sandwich had me reaching for a drink the whole time. This could be because they already have the brisket all pre-shredded in a hot tray when you walk in. You HAVE to leave it whole and then cut it as it's bought. Very unfortunate. The ribs were good - but sauceless. Not surprising that the pork and chicken sliders were also dry - and sauceless. Mac and cheese was good, but it did have tiny diced vegetables in it. A little odd, but good. The sweet potatoes were simmering in syrup and sugar. Too sweet for us, but that's subjective. The frustrating part was the fries. I ordered 2 large fries and it looked like I received 1 medium. This medium amount of fries was combined into one tray of fries and was placed for in an all plastic container with lid. This is not a good idea, because the fries get real soggy - real quick. Please put them in a paper bag like everyone else. Please don't short change customers on French fries either. They cost pennies and they make dollars and leave your customers feeling full at the end of a meal. This bring me to the corn bread. Have you ever eaten those mini muffins in a prepackaged bag? Yeah, they're the size of those. Tiny. Once again, how can you short the customer on bread? Corn bread slices should be ample, the cost is tiny to the owner and it fills up the customer. I want to re-visit this place. I want this place to make improvements. I want the owners/managers to read this and make adjustments. I want this place to learn from some mistakes, change for the better, and stay in the neighborhood. Please tweak these complaints and make me change my review and give you five stars. As it stands now, you're at 1.5-2. Star rating for me. Prove me wrong! read more

In fairness, let me start by saying this rating is for poor service. The food was satisfactory. I made a catering order 4 days in advance of my event, my grandfather's memorial. I ordered 2 pans of spaghetti. I requested pickup at 1pm. I arrived at the restaurant at 1:45 for pickup. A woman says she thought the order was for 2pm and she still needed 30 minutes. Wow!...you still need 30 minutes for an order that should ready in 15 minutes according to you. The male gentleman offered to deliver the food to the event within the hour. I took him up on the offer because I had other hot food in the car from elsewhere that I didn't want to get cold. He arrived at the event well after 3pm. The gentleman was quite presumptuous and indicated he would give me a gift certificate the next time I come in and he hopes the spaghetti wasn't "the star of the show". Who said anything about a next time? You'd think he would've brought the gift certificate with him if he really cared. They didn't seem very sorry for the inconvenience... Especially the woman. They delayed the memorial... Just adding insult to injury. I was referred to the restaurant by my uncle, a retired firefighter. I'm terribly disappointed with the service. read more

Eaten here a few times since they've opened. A small cozy neighborhood place that has pretty good food. I've tried a few different things on the menu thus far but I think the brisket sliders are the best. As other yelpers mentioned they do not put a lot of bbq sauce on the sandwiches, to some this may be a turn off to me this is a huge plus. I hate going somewhere that soaks their food in bbq sauce to the point where you can only taste the sauce. My buddy Charlie who is on yelp goes to this place every day so if you stop in look out for him. The owner is also there everyday she is very nice and always trying to accommodate to the customers needs. Nice little place with pretty good food but not the best I've had. A coworker came into work and raved about this place. So we decided to try it and to our surprise this place was absolutely delicious. I had the brisket and the three ribs with the Side of macaroni and cheese and french fries. The brisket was absolutely phenomenal it was tender and had a lot of flavor. The ribs were very meaty and very tender. I must admit I was a little hesitant to get the macaroni and cheese because everyone can't make Southern macaroni and cheese. This Mac was a blend cheeses and married to the jalapeño peppers. If you are The Avid Barbecue lover I highly suggest this place. In addition the peach cobbler was the best I've ever had the peaches were not overcooked and had a excellent bite. There was just the right amount of dough to peach ratio. When I say it was a sad story when I ate my last rib...my only solace is that I may come back tomorrow. These have got to be the best ribs I have had in my life. I have grown up in Chicago. I have been to St. Louis, Memphis and Nashville and these are hands down the best. Seriously get you some and buy some more but leave some for me! Only thing is they get sold out on stuff it seems so go early enough so that your feelings arent hurt. Also had greens and coleslaw and the greens were great too. I drank the juice. I went to an event that was catered by Nine One One Bbq. We helped the gentleman carry in the food and supplies. The food sat there for about 15 or 20 mins before we ate it and it was still SOO SOO DELICIOUS. We had brisket, pulled chicken, pulled pork, mac and cheese, Cole slaw, and collard greens. The meat was fantastic, the chicken was a tad dry but I smothered it in really delicious bbq sauce so it didnt even matter (not to mention that chredded chicken dries out really fast). The brisket was so flavorful and juicey. None of the meat needed bbq sauce but it complimented it perfectly. The mac and cheese was not mushy like you typically find and it had a ton of flavor also. I'm glad that im moving to this neighborhood because I will go get some Nine One One bbq again! read more

They never have any food! Been here 4 times over the last 6 months and only once did they have what I wanted, this time all they had was pulled pork and no other meat, no sweet potato's and no fries. Oven baked this place needs a Pit Master they still learning how to cook there . I was in the area and I wanted some bbq and I found this place and the reviews were good. I got there around 1:30pm I wanted to order the rib tips, mac&cheese and sweet potatoes. I end up ordering ribs, fries, coleslaw and peach cobbler. They were out of rib tips until around 5pm and there was a 30 minute wait for sweet potatoes and mac& cheese. The food that I ordered was really good and the cobbler was great. If I am in the area again, I would definetly go back there. read more

I went to this establishment at around 615pm on this past Saturday and they said they ran out of ribs..... I really dislike when establishments don't cook enough food so they can be out the door by closing time! I drove all the way over there just to be disappointed, gas is not cheap lbvs. It was 3 people including me that had to turn around because this smh..... I had the brisket sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese for myself and a pork slider with fries for my 2 year old. Everything was very tasty and the amount of pork on the slider was surprising. We had to wait for our Mac and cheese (which was delicious), so they gave us delicious Oreo balls for dessert. The staff was very nice. The shack was clean. The food was tasty. We will be back, but probably for pick up. We had a total of four adults, one teenager, two 2 year olds and one 10 month old- we took up the entire place and there were no baby seats. The food was great! And the owner or manger had fantastic customer service. One of the younger employees told me that they were out of two of the items I tried to order, so I said "okay nevermind then, thank you" and left. When I got to my car the owner or manager came out in the rain to tell me that they did in fact have what I was trying to order, and it would be on them for the inconvenience!
