Excellent food, and great service, esp. given the current pandemic. They bring your food right out to your car!

Nini's Ristorante Restaurant Style: Italian Last Visit: 12/21/18 Ambiance: Very Italian with stucco walls, pictures and posters for folks like Frank Sinatra, subdued lighting and dark furniture, a long bar and friendly wait staff. Service: This comfortable dinner place seated us speedily and gave fine service on a busy Friday night. For Kids: No dedicated juvenile menu but you can probably find something a child would like out of the offerings of pasta, pizza and grinders. Hours: Open Tuesday - Saturday 4-10 pm, Sunday 4 pm to 9:00 pm, closed Monday. Expense Account: Moderate. Figure about $15-$25 each without alcohol. Food: We stuck with simple Italian for entrees and have actually eaten here before and it captured our tastebuds then. Offerings run the gamut of typical Italian ( Alfredo, Chicken Parm, pizza) to steaks and haddock. I expect good crusty bread and Nini's laid on the olive oil dip and didn't disappoint. The fried mozzarella came in hefty triangles gooey with goodness and a marinara and Parmesan dip. Our selections included a serviceable Cabernet, a craft beer, pizza, spaghetti and cheese tortellini. The salads came with plenty of dressing but like most restaurant salads had sat in the cooler too long. The main dishes, however, drew praise and satiation all around. The shared pizza in our group for fresh mushrooms, sweet sauce and plenty of gooey hot cheese. Spaghetti marinara a plainer choice than many on the menu came out al dente with wonderful chunky tomato sauce and garlic. My cheese tortellini flooded my plate with the same sharp chunky sauce and spit curls of pasta. Now if we had only left room for the lucious chocolate cake we could of skipped Christmas treats for the rest of the season. Vegetarian Options: Lots of options from salads to the pizzas to the eggplant parmesan. Half of our party always eat vegetarian and they eat here often. Difference Dividend: I'm a New Englander and always test the fish in our restaurants. They have some nice options, here. Adult Beverages: Full bar with a generous wine list. read more

This was my first time trying Nini's and I would have loved to give a 5 star review, but unfortunately I can't. I'm going to start with the positive points: the pizza was very good and the employees were friendly. The execution, however, was quite lacking. I called to order my pizza and was told it would be ready in 25 minutes. I arrived on time and pulled off to the side of Orchard Street as I was instructed on the phone. There were quite a lot of cars already waiting for orders, so I had to park probably five car lengths away from the entrance, but not far from the restaurant at all. I called to let them know I had arrived, and they asked what kind of car I was driving and I was told that my order would be right out. About twenty minutes went by, and I decided to call again in case my order had been overlooked. The person who answered said they were just very busy, and took my name and car model again. I sat out in my car for another 30 minutes. I finally called again to find out what was taking so long. This time I was told that they had come out with my pizza but couldn't locate me, which was very confusing; there was a line of cars parked on the street waiting for food, so it stands to reason that some of the customers might be waiting a little farther away from the restaurant, and I was well within view of the entrance. They apologized and finally brought out my pizza. By now i had been wasting gas idling in my car (it was 20 degrees out) for nearly an hour. When I got home I opened up the box and had to laugh, the pizza was so small! I had ordered a ten inch pizza, but upon measuring found it only to be slightly over eight. As I stated at the beginning of my review, the pizza tasted very good, but for the money I paid ($17 plus 20% tip) there was no way that this experience was worth the money. I know that the pandemic has made things more complicated, but I haven't encountered any other restaurants with this level of disorganization. I'll probably stick with Antonio's from now on as their pizza is tasty and they have an organized process. read more

Really good pizza with ample toppings. Loved the caesar salad too. Reminds me of my favorite pizza place in Boston. Highly recommend. I was at first not sure due to other reviews saying toppings were meager, but they must have fixed that issue because they put huge slices of peppers and onions on my large pizza and it was so tasty and felt healthy with all the veggies i was getting in too! read more

We came here for our anniversary after a lengthy discussion on where to go on Wednesday night. Neither of us have been here before and were excited to try it. Surprisingly busy restaurant for 7pm on a weeknight but we got a table no problem. We started with the calamari which was just OK not the best I've ever had. Then the bread and salad came out and I was happy to see dipping oil which is hard to find these days in restaurants. The salads were good, basic garden salads. For my main I ordered the fettuccine pesto with chicken. It was excellent and something I'll gladly order again. Hubs had the Tuscan chicken and said it was great. Portions are very large and I was able to enjoy my meal again the next day for lunch. To round off the evening how could I pass on dessert? Especially when maple crème brûlée was on the menu. I've never had maple crème brûlée but I can absolutely see this being a consistent fixture in my life. Considering I had eaten enough to be wheeled out to the car and the amount the bill came to, this was an excellent choice for a nice anniversary midweek dinner. I look forward to going again in trying a few more items on the menu. But if that maple crème brûlée is there you know what I'll be having. read more

I normally like this restaurant but I ordered a party size cheese pizza on Dec 3 2019 and even though it was pricy it was truly horrible. The pizza was nothing but a blob of sauce, cheese and the dough was thin, undercooked and looked more like a soup than a pizza. We threw most of it out because it really was that bad. I love Nini's! It's actually been several years since I've eaten in the dining room...but back in the day, they had the best puttanesca around apart from my step-mother's! This review is for the takeout pizza. It is terrific. Always fresh, with that special crunch to the crust that I love. I have small hands and, while sometimes it's nice to have a sloppy greasy borderline-unmanageable slice that reminds me of childhood, Nini's gets the car-worthy nod. Meaning that even with my little hands, I can pick up a large slice and eat it in the car on the way home because it stands up on its own rather than the front half flopping over and dropping toppings and cheese everywhere. p.s. All of the toppings are great, but both the hamburger and sausage are particularly good quality. read more

Went here for dinner last night with my husband and we had an incredible experience! We were sat right away by our very pleasant waitress. The bread came out steaming hot, and the salad right after. I had my mind set on just salad and meatballs, but the salmon special sounded amazing (and it was, please add it to the menu!) so I ordered that. My husband ordered the Tuscan chicken (as he always does) and both of our meals were DELICIOUS! We wished we had room left over in our stomachs for dessert, because even the dessert menu looks so tempting! In all, great food and great service. The up-sides were a good atmosphere, a nice glass of Tuscan Chianti, that salad and bread with herb olive oil came with our meals, and the pork tenderloin special had a lot to recommend it, but I was very disappointed with the puttanesca for being so salty and having way more sauce and olives than a balanced dish should have. Our recent visit was a good one to Nini's. I had stuffed shells with a meatball and sausage on the side. There sauce is outstanding and both the meatball and sausage were very good. The stuffed shells with ricotta cheese mix and mozzarella on top was also pretty good. Wife had the Chicken Milano (I think) and was quite pleased with it with the only exception that she asked for no mushrooms but it came with them anyways. The waiter apologized and offered to redo it but wife said it was no problem. Salad and Bread were great too. Nice warm bread with olive oil dip. Kids got Pepperoni pizza and I tried a bit and it was pretty good also. Service was timely and attentive to our needs and we were seated quickly and served promptly. All in all we like the place for decent Italian food. Not 5 star but just plain old good home style cooking. Good beer and wine selection too! We go there every once in a while as we live nearby. I recommend it! Been there since 1905 so lots of history. read more

This review is based on one dinner there on a Sunday night for their homemade spinach ravioli. It was delicious! I substituted their marinara sauce which had the right amount of bite. Bread and oil was addictive. Cons: Not the best ambiance (cheesy Italian music playing in the background), and the wine selection definitely leaves something to be desired. The food is OK here, but the portion sizes, when you order to go at least, are extremely small and not at all worth the price. One of our items was forgotten in the order, which we did not know until we were home and opened the bag. We had to go back to get the other item and they offered us dessert for our troubles, but then failed to put the dessert in the order the second time. Just not worth the price. read more

We enjoy eating at Nini's because it is the closest to what I ate while stationed in Italy. We have had several mini-reunions and this year was no different for the ten of us. The young lady that served us gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu and to order. She served every one's drink and food at the same time and checked on us at appropriate intervals - - i.e. we didn't have a mouthful of food. I love this place..! It has great service and also great food! Though it is a little fancy I really enjoy going here. It also has order out. I ordered a pizza from there and it was amazing! I love going there in general because it has such a good vibe.Outside they play some jazz music that is to die for..!The main course is wonderful but the dessert is even better..! I like nini's. Their food is pretty good but expensive. My biggest gripe with them is the service. Every single time I have come in I have been left standing by the door for 10 minutes waiting to be sat, or if by some miracle I have been sat it takes another 10 minutes to get acknowledged by a server. This place could be a lot better if they had consistent service and consistent hours (I have gone a few times only to find they aren't open despite their business hours saying they would be) I think they have managed to stay afloat for so long based on the loyalty of the locals and their awesome homemade pasta sauce. read more

Nini's is always a reliable choice for Italian food in the Greater Springfield area. Portions are generous, drink prices moderate, and desserts (the last thing many of us need) always please. The only quibbles: Pizzas are inconsistent and sometimes skimpy on toppings. The olive oil served with bread should be upgraded to extra virgin. If chain restaurants can manage this, certainly Nini's can. The Easthampton downtown scene has been slowly developing over the years from a once dismal scene to some interesting offerings-a welcome development! read more

Basic enough fare. Staff is nice but food is wildly buttered up to the sky. Like anything buttery, you're seduced from the off but then start to view your food with disdain and the more you eat, the more there seems to eat and you start to feel off-color. Ah look it, they also failed the meatball test. You gotta nail your meatball in an Italian restaurant. I was sorry to say it was a bland meatball. The meatball is the blank canvas for an Italian restaurant. It's where you paint your masterpiece. Nini's has overlooked this. It's very rich heavy food and there's lots of it. But you might not be willing to have the rest for lunch during the week. read more

Sometimes the service is iffy. I kind of liked ordering delivery when I used to live in Easthampton. But their Tortellini Portofino is to die for. I love it. It is so wonderful. I've been coming to Nini's for years, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience there. The foods is exceptional and affordable. It is by far the best Italian restaurant in the area. The waitstaff is excellent and attentive. They recently redecorated and the new atmosphere creates a great ambiance. The veal marsala is by far my favorite dish on the menu, and I recommend you try it. I highly recommend you give Nini's a try if you are in the area. read more

This place seemed like one of the better restaurants in Easthampton, and their website was polished and boasted "classic Italian cuisine", so we decided to give it a go. Huge disappointment. All the dishes tasted like something out of an average American restaurant on the side of a road; the portions were huge (obviously American sized) and crudely made; everything mostly tasted bland but salty.
