Really lovely excellent staff. Each and every person I came in contact with was exceptionally lovely! It takes me about 3 minutes to walk here, so I ordered a regular veggie burrito to go. Vegetarian black beans, sautéed veggies, lettuce, a smidgen of cilantro lime rice & sprinkle of cheese. I asked for a mix of the Serrano and mango habanero salsas. All the flavors were really good. What sucked was that my burrito was cold. Like cold enough that the cheese inside was pretty solid with no melt to it whatsoever. Being from Austin TX, we eat tacos non stop and are kind of spoiled when it comes to our taco options. That being said, Ninis tacos did not disappoint. Very poor quality food. Stomach was on blast after eating their home chilli nachos. Felt sick all day. Feel like puking and didn't feel great exploring the town after. The chilli needs to be made more fresh. Who knows how long this has been in the fridge. Will never eat here again and I don't recommend anyone to get their nachos with their chilli. DELISH! We were struggling with the COVID changes (order outside and wait, no patio, etc.) and waits with some places - especially with the heat. We came upon this place and there was NO line! And it was tacos. Bonus. We ordered the barbacoa and chicken quesadillas - and were not disappointed at all. The side of guac was perfection. They have a great outdoor patio in the back - I wish they had a sign out in front that said that. The food is OK as tacos go. The staff is friendly. But if you're looking for some place to grab a quick bit, go elsewhere. The ordering process is incredibly inefficient and S-L-O-W. Someone in line said it was provided with a "personal touch." If it were a sit-down restaurant I would agree. But having a long conversation with every customer about the rationale behind their food choices makes for incredibly slow service. The menu is clearly marked with everything, including their 15 or so salsas. But each customer is asked inane questions like, "Those tacos come with lettuce, tomato, onion and sour cream. You know this?" Customer: "Yes, it says so on the menu." Cook: "And you're sure you want this." Customer: "Yes." Cook: "OK, now let's talk about salsas." Customer: "I just want the tomatillo sauce." Cook: "JUST the tomatillo sauce? {scoffs} There is no JUST tomatillo." Customer: "......" Cook: "OK. Let's repeat this so I make sure that I remember your order because you have three separate things." Customer: (to themselves) "Maybe you should write it down?" Meanwhile, a line of 15 people stretches out the door. If you're into having long philosophical conversations about the principles behind mixing corn with black beans and cilantro for a sweet salsa, and how this salsa is not hot and goes best with fish, but not chicken, whilst a hoard of hungry people burn their ire into the back of your head, then this is your place. If you have ever had a Mission style burrito (or Denver for that matter) it isn't in that authentic style and seems Americanized. Small storefront in downtown Durango. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to you. The food was very very good. We had soft flour tacos with Carnitas. Some places will make the Carnitas with like burnt edges on it which is how we prefer it. These were not that way but the flavor was very good. The service was prompt and friendly. All of the employees were very friendly. We will eat here again the next time we are in town. Also, they have a very nice covered patio in the back of the shop. Quiet intimate. And they allow pets so we were able to bring our dog on the patio. read more

Solid Mexican joint right near the train station! Usually the line for Nini's is out the door, but this time we got lucky and there was no line! I always go for the tacos; the fish are legit because they come with yummy cabbage slaw, but the meats are good too (carnitas and barbacoa are good, chicken can be a bit dry sometimes). I LOVE the array of salsas Nini's has: corn and bean, pico de gallo, mango habanero, tomatillo, serrano... the list goes on and on and you can pick more than one! I'd recommend the pico and the mango habanero, but honestly you really can't go wrong. The staff here is super nice but sometimes you have to be patient because when the line gets crazy they can be overwhelmed. If seating fills up in the front there is more seating outside on the patio which is legit when the weather is warm :D read more

It's Chipotle, but with more options and more local. Staff was cool / laid back but still provided good service. I had pork burrito and bf had fish tacos, both were quite good. Not insanely good, but plenty good for a quick bite to eat at a reasonable price, and good enuf we went back the next day to get something to go for the road. My husband and I ate here back in late March. We were attracted to the type of food here but also the outside inviting appearance. It is a cute little restaurant in downtown Durango, across from the train station. Everyone inside was very friendly and helpful. They were accommodating as well to our little family. The inside appearance was a bright and colorful and the outside. The only thing we though might be a problem for others in a wheelchair would be the steep entrance into the restaurant but with a little push it shouldn't be too difficult. The food was delicious-- even our toddler gobbled it up! It appeared to have fresh produce and just looked overall yummy. They offer a variety of salsa as well. Passing through on the way to Telluride, stopped here for lunch. Food was fine, I got the veggie burrito which has all the traditional ingredients and then some odd ones like jicama. It was super hot and they provide free water. They've got a ton of salsa choices and you might find yourself feeling decision fatigue with all the choices you have to make. The restaurant is Ferdinand the Bull themed and has nice decorum and a large outdoor patio for dining. Bathrooms are very small and more like converted closets. If you can't find them that's cause they are "labelled" with flower pictures instead of a recognizable bathroom symbol. read more

Fan-freakin-tastic! I went in here with some friends over the weekend and had some soft tacos. I had two fish tacos and a carnitas taco. I also tried three different salsas, including the habenero mango, the roasted serrano and the tomatillo. I have to say, hands down, a fish taco on a blue corn tortilla with habenero mango salsa was AWESOME! Nini's is an order at the counter type place with excellent service, indoor and outdoor seating and a relaxed atmosphere. I have to admit I was a little weary when I walked in: another burrito shop? Where would it fall? Near the bottom with Chipotle or in the middle with Free Birds? Well, I can tell you I was happily surprise! I ordered the barbarcoa which was really good. The tortilla was fresh, so additional points there! The serving size was HUGE -- so I have dinner now as well. I had a choice between black or pinto beans. (I was a little disappointed that they did not know what burracho beans were, but it is Colorado, so what was I thinking!?!). I chose black beans.
