Although the waiter was not too fluent with the items and made one mistake by giving us eel sashimi instead of eel sushi, she was very nice and fixed the order for us. There was also a plate of cantalope at the end of your meal! The salmon was fresh but not the best cut (also very thick but thats personal preference. The rolls and sashimi were on point but we order yaki udon noodles dishes with chicken tempura and they gave us noodle soup instead. The restaurant is clean, the servers are friendly, prices are very reasonable (we also had 10% discount applied to our checks since it was opening month or something for them). Came here on July 4th after visiting Sake across the street that seemed to be too packed for my party of 3. We waited for around 10 minutes because the place seemed pretty busy. The interior was very pretty and the place was very roomy so you'd have lots of room to dine in. The service was lacking-- it was clearly understaffed for the busy holiday. The sushi bar couldn't keep up with all the orders for the customers dining in for their buffet menu. Like every other AYCE sushi spot, they have pieces of paper to fill out to make the ordering process easier. However, it took them about 30 minutes-45 minutes to complete an each order. We didn't have much on the papers, but comparing to the timeliness of other sushi buffets, Ninja 86 is lacking! Our whole meal was over two and a half hours because our orders were taking way too long! They also messed up our orders with a different table so there's that. Their sushi was alright, but definitely do not get the Shrimp Tempura roll from here. The shrimp was stale and extremely dry, making it incredibly hard to swallow. I will, however, note that their appetizers were amazing, especially their beef terriyaki. It was soft and not too chewy, made just the way I like it. I don't think I will be returning. The wait was way too long for just average food. Two stars for their appetizers, the presentation, and their interior. read more

Ninja sushi is a new sushi place . It replaced an old sushi place that had been in 86 street for a long time. I think Ninja's sushi is a little special because there are many newly created sushi rolls that represents the names of NYC and it's neighborhood but the classic sushi does not really taste like classic sushi at all. I think I still prefer the same taste of my sushi so maybe I will come here less often. They have the 3 option sushi lunch special for $9.25 and it's a pretty large portion you can fill your hunger with. It also includes green salad and miso soup . Miso soup doesn't even taste like miso soup I have from other sushi place . Again , I think I will continue to eat at sake and Daizen and other typical places that I usually go to . read more

Appetizer: Huge selection of salad like kani, seaweed, green, avocado, spicy seafood, salmon skin. Important note: the avocado was fresh and ripe, perfectly riped, NOT brown at all. A lot of variety of carbohydrates and filling to choose from: udon, soba, fried rice, stir fry. Teriyaki is highly recommended. Teriyaki tofu, shrimp, salmon and chicken are soo flavorful and saucy. Comes with a balance of vegetables to pair off. Sushi: a huge selections of sushi, rolls and hand rolls to choose from but they do NOT offer sashimi. The AYCE fill in paper comes with a menu with description and picture. Two restroom located in the back of the store. Super clean and space. Lunch menu $13.95 Dinner menu $19.95 I would suggest requesting for a dinner menu during lunch hours. Lunch hours consist of less people than dinner, reducing your wait time by half. I have dined here as well as ordered delivery and have come to the conclusion that they are my favorite in the area. Their delivery is consistently early and well packaged. I typically order salmon and eel sushi, a basic roll, and their hibachi style fried rice. Sushi quality is impressively high considering low prices. I have never had a concern with freshness, although occasionally you'll get a clumsy cut. The restaurant seems clean and runs efficiently. I haven't been during typical feeding times so I'm not sure how busy they get but I noticed that they offer AYCE so I'm sure it gets crazy. However, midday weekends you barely have to wait and food starts to come out within 10 min of ordering. A few dishes I would like to highlight are the peanut avocado roll and the hibachi style fried rice. When I had the peanut avocado roll I noticed that they used honey roasted peanuts and it was really just the best combination! Hibachi anything is going to be delicious, I know, but a lot of delivery joints don't know how to do it right. I've ordered for delivery and pick up from here a few times since they opened. Their food is consistent, flavorful, and affordable. I've never ate at the restaurant, though. When I've gone to pick up my food, they seemed a bit short-staffed because there were only 2 people answering the phones, placing and providing pick-up orders, and waitering.
