I've gotta update my review to 10/5 stars if I could cause even though I'm in the city every week, I save my pizza cravings for this spot! This particular Amore location makes the greatest Nonna and Margherita pizza ever. My parents and husband cannot get enough either. Amore is a weekly thing. Get the personal or large pan of either pie, made fresh, and their Caesar salad or spinach and garlic, and a seat outside on a nice night. Their pizza drips with this golden olive oil, a little salt, fresh tomatoes, and divine cheese. I cannot get enough and come here weekly! The best! I had one of the best salad slices that I have had in a long time. The salad was fresh and the crust was perfectly done crispy just the way I like it. I asked the chef to please make sure that the crust was crispy. I never liked soggy crust, and he accommodated me beautifully. when I finished my pizza, the chef had given me a special treat, a dessert slice that he had made from scratch with fresh peaches and almonds. Amazing -however I was so full from the salad slice I couldn't finish the whole thing ;so I brought home the leftovers to my husband who loved it. My parents kindly stayed in our house to watch our dogs while we were away for a week. Upon our return, I figured I would celebrate the fact that our dogs, and my parents, survived the week and is there literally any better way to celebrate than pizza? We usually order from another place you may or may not know in Katonah and the menu at Amore is very similar. I could potentially just have pizza for lunch but I definitely need a little more variety for a dinner meal so I ordered the pasta with broccoli and garlic. GF ordered pasta primavera. My Dad ordered a chicken salad and my Mom ordered a veggie panini and house salad. I added garlic knots to throw everything all together. OMG how could I forget, I also ordered a standard pie. The food came when it was supposed to. The delivery man insisted on interacting with someone and fortunately because my parents are stuck in the 90s, they have no problem with that. For one of the first times in a while, I'm sad to say, we actually received everything we ordered! See my recent reviews for the tea. My pasta was quite good. The noodles were al dente. There were nice slices of garlic mingling with the oil. The broccoli was fresh and plentiful. A touch of parmesan and red pepper flakes would have lifted this to ambrosia status. When asked about her primavera, GF says "loved it". My Mom never leaves any of her feelings to the imagination and she made it quite clear that she adored both the veggie panini and her salad, which she consumed the following day for lunch. The panini comes with fries which I assisted her consume, and they were very tasty and some of them were crisp. My Dad enjoyed his as well. He says "tasty, basic without the chicken but better with it". The garlic knots were the biggest garlic knots I have ever seen. Try garlic BOATS. Not only were they gigantic but they were so soft, fluffy, and most importantly, DELICIOUS. They're literally so big that the standard serving of sauce was enough for only like 3 of them. The pizza. The, arguably most critical part of the order, was disappointing. We had just returned from Mexico and GF had food poisoning so her buds may not have recalibrated. I was also shook from what I witnessed so my emotional state had not recalibrated. She took a bite and immediately said she didn't like it, there was something off about it. Now, I have been tainted at this point, so there was no hope for me to form a positive opinion about the pizza. I will say that it was extremely soggy which I can't do. My Dad would enjoy cardboard if I told him it was pizza so the bar isn't high here and both he, and my Mom, loved it. I'm still thinking about those garlic knots. EDIT to add clarification: we have never not received anything from here or the other place in Katonah, 2 places in Mt. Kisco hmph. read more

I actually drove a stupidly long distance to come for this pizza because there was a picture of the square / grandma slice on here that looked phenomenal. I'm glad I came by because it was very good! Amore Pizzeria is a welcome addition to the changing but steady restaurant scene in Katonah. Before Amore, there were only a couple--and substandard at that--options for pie lovers. When Amore announced its opening, I was beyond thrilled. My expectations were high based on what their website described. Though they are a good pizzeria, they need to tweak their operation to be great. That said, it is fantastic to see a steady stream of people entering a business on a block that used to be utterly silent. Here is what Amore can do to improve its good base of operation. I know this sounds like a whiny consultant, but I want Amore to be in Katonah for years to come. 1. Consistency. The slice in the attached photo was excellent, the right proportion of toppings to dough and each other. I ordered the same slice a week later and it was a messy, greasy, and honestly difficult-to-eat flopper. 2. Proportions. Some slices are overloaded. They cannot be picked up without flop and slop. I almost used a fork and knife! 3. Communicate orders to the register operator. Otherwise, the customer is left describing what they ordered, and the chef inevitably hollers the order while this happens. 4. Napkins. There are none in the seating area, only behind the counter, and asking over and over is tiring. Doing the above will elevate an already great addition to Katonah, one of my favorite towns. I haven't had the chance to dine in just yet, but I've ordered delivery a few times from Amore and have really enjoyed my meals. I've had cauliflower crust pies from here, as well as the regular. Both are very good, very fresh-tasting. My favorite though has been the soups (the minestrone) and the pastas. I had a aglio e olio pasta and could have warded off vampires for eons. The perfect amount of garlic. And the soups come with incredibly fresh and perfectly baked focaccia. Good not great. Crust was chewy with no crispness. Sauce is darker than I prefer. Pizza is a preference. For someone else this may be perfect. The staff was nice and service was fast. We had both the thin crust and a Sicilian. Neither had any crispiness to them. read more

Parents live in Katonah and they wanted me to pick up Pizza and bring it to them so I researched and settled on Amore. Everything was terrific! The girl who answered the phone for the order was professional, the Pizza (Pepperoni) was perfect, The salad (forgot what they call it but it had apple and good quality lettuce, etc. in it...Not the garbage "Iceberg" that most pizzeria's use), Side of meatballs and the calzone were both very good as well. The place itself is clean and orderly. My only complaint and I mean it constructively is the sauce that came with the Calzone was too sweet not the same sauce served with everything else which was great. Easy on the sugar guys. Hubby and I fought over the option to order thin or thick, well done or cooked lightly and We both loved having the control to order it "our way".
