Fried zucchini and Gyro Pita Wrap
    Jackie T.

Always consistently good, a staple in my house for decades. A little pricy, $18 including tax for a gyro and fried zucchini but the quality is always good!

We've always wanted to stop in here and finally did. If you want some Greek food in Ahwatukee this is a good option. Service was quick and polite. Restaurant was clean and bright. Gyro had generous amounts of onion and tzatziki (I personally prefer a little less-- but others might like this feature). Meat was packed high in front and low in back (maybe to fit in the paper wrapper?) Self serve drinks and ketchup packets.

We went in to order to go! While waiting we noticed it was a nice and modern ambiance with dim lighting. We really liked it!! Others were coming and ordering also! This place seems to be family owned. Only 2 people working at the time we went. They were nice. The food was delish!! It hit the spot. Very filling. I got the 2 meat plate and my bf got the Gyro combo! We shared the Zucchini fries. Overall super yummy! We will be returning!

It's actually been a few years since we've been to Niro's but we wanted to revisit and specifically have for Gyros. Everything was the same at this visit in terms of the restaurant, maybe a bit tired but mostly clean. We were the only people in the restaurant and as we finished another person entered and ordered. We noticed only one person working, taking orders and preparing the food. Curious about that. Back to the "mostly clean"...They have a set up in the corner where you can get napkins, silverware (plastic), and catsup. The napkin holders were covered in old, dried sprayed catsup which was a turn off and I wonder if Environmental Services would have an issue? I'm always suspicious of soda machines so I typically bring my own water so I'm not getting water from the soda machines...don't drink soda. Anyway, on to the actual food...The counter was full of containers of baklava which was so tempting so I picked up one with two pieces. We both ordered the Gyro Pita Wrap, which is served on a pita, with tomato and I had no onion, wife had onion, and there was some tzatziki sauce spread on it. The sandwich was "ok"...nothing spectacular unfortunately. The sauce didn't really have a strong typical taste of garlic and cucumbers, the meat was ok although some had drier edges. Again, it was ok. Wife wanted the Greek fries and I wanted plain initially we were rung up as all separate items and when I said something about the price of a meal, which was a tad cheaper, the gentleman made the change in price. So I got the meal deal minus the drink. We paid an extra $2 for the Greek fries. The baklava was not good...found it to be dry and flavorless and actually a tad old tasting. We actually ended up tossing them at home once we each had a bite. Ok experience and will go elsewhere when the Gyro bug hits us again.

First time trying this place. I was pleasantly surprised with the Greek burger. Can't wait to try the gyro fries next time.

Great service, super helpful staff, and they just started a rewards program last week. I will definitely return just for the pet friendliness and great service alone. The food slaps. A family owned sit-down full service place that is quaint, charming and welcoming. We ate in, but there were more carry out orders going than diners. We went after seeing the other good reviews and, as always, Yelpers usually don't miss. We were quickly welcomed and seated. The menu is straightforward, with a nice mix of Mediterranean foods. We had the Chicago gyros, chicken schwarma, beef kofta, lemon rice soup, tabbouleh salad and fries. All were great, but the fries were outstanding! I've eaten a lot of fried potatoes in my life, and really none better. They rounded out the meal-hot, fresh, crunchy and soft. Perfect! If I had to have a "complaint," the lemon garlic aioli on the schwarma was a bit too much, get that "on the side" so you can manage that. Otherwise a great meal. OPA!

The Boneless Chicken kabob had saffron flavor and was cooked to perfection. The salad was nice and crispy with just enough oil/vinegar dressing. Customer service was excellent, with very attentive staff. Their dining area's ambiance is good, is well lit and is nice and cool. We started our meal with the hummus and tahini, which was perfectly smooth and creamy with just the right hint of garlic. It was beautifully garnished with tangy pickles and served with fresh, warm pita bread that was perfect for scooping. For our mains, my wife opted for a double order of their crisp, refreshing Greek side salad paired with a side of golden, perfectly spiced falafel. I went with the chicken shawarma sandwich, and it was incredible. The chicken was slow-roasted to perfection, infused with a fragrant, savory spice blend, and elevated by a generous drizzle of their rich, zesty garlic sauce. I'd been here several times years ago, and after coming back, I'm honestly wondering why I don't eat here more often. I ordered the chicken shawarma, a stuffed grape leaves platter, and hot tea. Everything was exactly what I hoped it would be. The chicken was well-seasoned, tender, and wrapped with the classic toppings, and the portion was fair for the price. Speaking of price, the value here is honestly hard to beat. The stuffed grape leaves platter came with hummus, tabbouleh, pita, and hot stuffed grape leaves. I had completely forgotten they serve them warm, and my brain needed a minute to recalibrate because I'm so used to cold dolmas everywhere else. Once I took a bite, though... yep. That's how they're supposed to taste. Soft, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I ended up adding some of the hummus and tabbouleh to my shawarma, which made an already great sandwich even better. The service was just as impressive as the food. My server was genuinely kind, gave me a few extra minutes when I couldn't decide, checked in without hovering, and even offered to package my hot tea to go when he noticed I was still working on it. (For the record, ordering an entire pot of tea for one person was an ambitious life choice on my part.) The dining room isn't huge, and there's also a small market attached, which adds to the charm. This place reminds me that consistency is underrated. Years later, I came back, and it was just as good as I remembered. Great food, great service, great value. I'll try not to wait so long before my next visit.
