We've been there several times as my husband and I work nearby. We actually stopped going there for a long time ago because we went in there once and Theo was yelling and berating one of his employees. We were the only patrons there and it made it SUPER awkward. So we crossed it off of the list. We heard it was under new management and decided to try it again. We are so glad we did. The new owners remodeled the place so it no longer looks like a dingy dive. We used to go here all the time but then for some reason, stopped. I tried it again last night and was greatly disappointed. Did this place change hands? The gyro meat was rubbery, tasteless and didn't even look traditional. The coloring wasn't good either. If I hadn't ordered my food for take-out, I wouldn't have accepted it. We've been eating there and carrying out food for many,many years. Through past owners the food has been and is now very, very good. However, while waiting for my to go order I noticed that the tile walls on either side of the order desk look dirty. I mean dirt and grease. The floors are concrete and looked clean but I seem to recall clean white(ish) tile on either side of the register after the remodel. So NG owners, a little 409 or Sams Club degreaser and some scrubbing on the walls would brighten up the place a great deal. We'll be looking for this the next time we come to eat your delicious food. I was looking for some halal spots in the area when I came across this place. We ventured out to get some take-out and I'm so glad we did! We ordered a combo platter and a chicken shawarma. Both were really good, and the sauces on the side were so flavorful! This is probably one of the better shawarmas I've had in the area. In terms of service, the owner is very helpful and kind. Tried this place recently and had an okay experience. Our party ordered several things including gyros, greek salads, greek fries, hummus, and falafel. The gyro meat was fine, but wasn't as juicy and flavorful as other greek spots that I've been to. A big let down for me was their tzatziki sauce. The tzatziki sauce is such a big deal when it comes to Greek food and unfortunately this one was not that good. Falafel was nothing special either. The hummus and the pita was pretty good. Lastly, Greek fries were basic with just feta over the fries and the fries honestly weren't really that crispy. Definitely a bummer, because I'm always looking for new spots to add to the go-to list. The new owners took over around nine months ago. Tonight we had salad and gyros. My daughters said the gyro meat was superb and like the new sauce a lot. My salad had a few too many onions for my taste but that's a personal thing. The salad was fresh with great feta and a much improved salad dressing. The pita is nice and warm and a great texture!! Great place, good service, nice place to sit and talk with friends for a few hours. We go probably once a week to just meet up and talk. Gyros are 5/5. Tzatziki is, too. Their new yellow rice tastes amazing. My favorite is the hummus platter. I usually make/eat roasted red pepper hummus, but I like their plain hummus much better than their red pepper flavor. The platter comes with the choice of hummus flavors, pitas, cut up tomatoes and cucumbers. I do wish there was more cucumber. Another great dish is the the falafel platter. Best falafel I've had in a while and that is my go to when I get Greek food, so I have a lot of crappy falafel by which to compare. I really do like the baklava, but for the price, I thought it was homemade. Was kind of sad when I saw the girls putting it out in plastic containers straight from the box. Maybe the vivid could come with that for an extra dollar or so? Maybe do that packaging in the back? After stealing a bite (or two, possibly three) of his gyro, I was starting to regret not ordering a gyro myself. It came with 2 large portions of meat, onions, tomatoes, & gyro sauce. By far, the best thing on the plate was the gyro sauce. The chicken was dry & tasted weird. I personally thought that the regular gyro was a little bit better but not by much. Additionally, as a side, we upgraded to the Greek fries, which was a mistake. The fries themselves were good (especially with the gyro sauce) but for $1.25 extra, it was not worth it for the little big of feta cheese sprinkled on top & a lemon wedge. I will say that for the amount of money that we paid, the quantity was large.
